Message Forum

Welcome to the Richardson High School Message Forum.

The Message Forum is an ongoing dialogue among classmates. The goal is to encourage friendly interaction, including interaction among classmates who really didn't know each other. Experience on the site has revealed that certain topics tend to cause friction and hard feelings, especially politics and religion.

Although politics and religion are not completely off-limits, classmates are asked to be positive in their posts and not to be too repetitive or allow a dialog to degenerate into an argument.

Forums work when people participate - so don't be bashful! Click the "Post Response" button to add your entry to the forum.

Wayne:

Mayo and/or mustard.  Then the Italian option was olive oil with great Italian seasoning - a lot of oregano.  One time my co worker's friend called in a carry out order of Italian subs.  Co worker substituted onto the sandwich another kind of herb she was carrying.  Evidently the friend didn't complain.

Jerry:

So sorry you have endured this vision loss.  Yet you have vision in your other eye, right?  Can you safely drive?

Best wishes for full vision recovery and for a cease and desist on the pain your report.

Jerry,

So glad to hear that you are improving daily.  What a scary episode to go through!  Thank goodness for great doctors and great equipment in the USA medical systems!

This is one of the reasons people are standing along our borders wating to get in.  They know this is one of the top places in the world to live, to get good healthcare, education, & for a myriad of reasons, not the least of which is freedom and the ability to choose between numerous choices.  Yet we have ignorant thugs in Portland, Minneapolis & other cities saying they want to remake our country and our Constitution, as if they have a clue about how to create what our Founders envisioned and meticulously designed, along with faith-led inspiration in their hearts and minds, absolutely.

Jerry,

We have been praying and worried about you.  So glad they got it figured out.  Look on the bright side.  I bet you would look pretty sophisticated with a monacle.  We will be praying for a full recovery, nevertheless.

David,

Bill Coleman should know better. Sending wine from the West Coast to Texas uses a vast amount of energy in the form of fossil fuel for FedEx or UPS trucks or planes and the glass has to be recycled and the alcohol is breathed out by those that drink it which changes the atmosphere from what nature intended.  I bet his Mother Earth cried all night about that.   These things should be obvious for a climate change proponent like him.  If he had stayed true to his Democratic roots, he would have sent that wine for reparations to a Black Lives Matter looting and arson party rather than waste it on white flyover country rednecks.

Steve,

There were Democrats at the event, for sure!  I know you were "writing tongue-in-cheek," which doesn't seem to make sense, but does. I'm not sure of Bill Coleman's political views, but it doesn't matter.  He was very, very kind to send the gift, and we enjoyed the wine.

As a non-drinker, you may not have an opinion on this, so I will ask it of everyone. What Texas wines are worth purchasing?

David,

Messina Hof is an award winning wine from Bryan, Delaney Vineyards in Grapevine, Llano has several labels.  There are many others.

Hull and Wayne,

I toured the Becker winery and two near Lubbock, but I don't remember if one was Llano Estacado.

What varietals are worthwhile from these wineries?

I think I remember reading somewhere that tempranillo was the grape that did best in Texas. Or... are the grapes coming mostly from elsewhere?

I don't trust "award winning" very much because anyone can give an award. My sons gave me a trophy that said, "World's Best Dad." That was before they became Democrat Trump haters. I can't find my trophy anymore. I suspect foul play.

David,

Llano Estacado in outside of Lubbock.  There is also Ste Genevieve in Ft Stockton.  They both have good vines of different varities and both have wines of varing price.

Rick, a friend of mine lives on Broadway near 13th.   He is in ICU from a scooter wreck and wife at UT Galv with him.   Is there water high on Broadway?  I know there is water downtown...

Lowell, we are at 37th and Ave O 1/2. About 6-7 blocks from Seawall Blvd directly behind Gaido's. It's coming up, but we didn't check out Broadway today....too busy looking at what was closer to home. If I can, I'll see what I can find out tomorrow and let you know.

Lowell, not sure what to tell you. It's coming down in buckets and supposed to be this way today and tomorrow. Water runs from Seawall to Broadway (or that's what we were told). Yesterday really wasn't bad, but it looks like today may be a problem. Wish I had more information for you.

Texas Wineries

I'll throw in La Buena Vida Vinyards. La Beuna Vida Winery in Springtown is one of Texas' oldest winery. owned by Dr Robert Smith. It was served at President George Bush's (#41) Inaugration Dinner. I believe the winery now makes Umbra Wine at the winery and no longer offers the label La Beuna Vida.

You missed my pun.  How is this: I  guessed you you served (MS)Mayo with sandwitches?

New vaccines should be tested ... on politicians first.

If they survive ... the vaccine is safe.

If they don't ... then the country is safe.

Hillis,

Don't feel bad. After 25 years of marrage my wife still does not get at least 1/2 of my jokes.  I have gotten a lot of dumb looks from her.

Lance, I didn't take any photos, but I'll send you an autographed copy of a photo of me if you'd like.
