Message Forum

Welcome to the Richardson High School Message Forum.

The Message Forum is an ongoing dialogue among classmates. The goal is to encourage friendly interaction, including interaction among classmates who really didn't know each other. Experience on the site has revealed that certain topics tend to cause friction and hard feelings, especially politics and religion.

Although politics and religion are not completely off-limits, classmates are asked to be positive in their posts and not to be too repetitive or allow a dialog to degenerate into an argument.

Forums work when people participate - so don't be bashful! Click the "Post Response" button to add your entry to the forum.

EV use up.   AE choices up.   Solar   Wind...all moving along.   China basically has nothing but EV's coming out.

Yet.   The world's use of oil has not peaked yet.   We are still on the upswing of oil consumption...  Fear not Texas investors...

There are over 100 products we use every day that come from crude oil

Wayne Gary

Lowell,

There are over 6000 products we use every day that come from crude oil

From the US Dept of Energy.

When you think about oil, there is probably one thing that immediately comes to
mind: motor oil for your car or lawn mower. And, when you hear about natural
gas, you may think about heating your home, cooking, or even electric power
generation. But, there are many other uses for these hydrocarbons than what
meets the eye.
Petrochemicals derived from oil and natural gas make the manufacturing of
over 6,000 everyday products and high-tech devices possible. Major
petrochemicals—including ethylene, propylene, acetylene, benzene, and toluene,
as well as natural gas constituents like methane, propane, and ethane—are the
feedstock chemicals for the production of many of the items we use and depend
on every day.
Modern life relies on the availability of these products that are made in the
United States and across the globe. We zero in on some of these common
household and commercial products below. The list may surprise you!

Thanks, Sandra.

That was kind of close to what I thought it was. That first step is the kicker for me. Lisa, my wife, is the only mind reader I know. That's why I keep thinking about Beatles songs 24/7

Thanks Tommy, for the smiling shots of Steve.  It's great to see that he is improving.

Was so glad you said "That's Steve on the right," in the second pic.  I was a little confused.  Your constant wit is always a giggle for me.

Hope Steve doesn't have to stay in bed for much longer.  I know he likes to be on the move daily, as is his habit.

Oh, GOOD!!! Steve looks like he's recovering for more abuse later!!!!

Tommy,

Thanks for visiting Steve, bringing him some cheer (especially with the dog) and posting the photos of him.  He looks good despite the rough go he has had of it.  I hope he can return to normalcy.  I will keep him in my thoughts.

Question:

Is there a cheap and effective VPN (or other software) that can hide your actual physical location. My streaming services are blocking me because I am not in the US.

Lowell Tuttle

Isn't that what dukduk.go advertises?

08/03/23 01:11 PM #27881

Sandra Spieker (Ringo)

David,

You want streaming services when you are onboard a lovely cruise in Europe???  May I suggest a nice glass of wine, Martha and the river breezes instead.  Screw the streaming (pun intended), just watch the river stream by and then....well use you imagination.!

David:

As is frequently the case, I'm with Sandra.  Drop the screens.

Merrily, merrily and something about life being a dream, dude.

Love, Hollis

So judgmental!!

The river is nice to look at, but not so much at night or when you're stopped. And that glas of wine? We probably need less rather than more. After the evening's activities we want to kick back a bit. Last night we watched Monuments Men. Enjoyed it

Lowell,

As I understand it, DuckDuckGo doesn't reveal your search history, but I don't know about hiding your location. Might check it out tonight.

We use Bit Defender.  It is an anti-virus and VPN.  Danny says it is inexpensive.

Jim Mulvihill and I saw Steve last night; and he is looking better and better!

Janalu, he does seem to be "chomping at the bit" to leave! We all three had great laughs

though, and we stayed awhile!

David,

Paris looks lovely.  I am jealous. Wish I was there.  Cathy Burrows Streetman's daughter lives in France.  I think in Paris.  I see her Facebook posts filled with photos of gardens, museums, shops, food and more all the time.  Her name is Spring.  Spring in Paris....

Jerry,

I am glad to hear that Steve is feeling better.  This is quite the miracle. I hope this trend continues for him and he can once again live alone, or at least post here and talk to us all.

I just watched the Ann-Margret scene again and the band is Dino, Desi & Billy.  Sons of Dean Martin and Desi Arnaz.
