Welcome to the Richardson High School Message Forum.

The Message Forum is an ongoing dialogue among classmates. The goal is to encourage friendly interaction, including interaction among classmates who really didn't know each other. Experience on the site has revealed that certain topics tend to cause friction and hard feelings, especially politics and religion.

Although politics and religion are not completely off-limits, classmates are asked to be positive in their posts and not to be too repetitive or allow a dialog to degenerate into an argument.

Forums work when people participate - so don't be bashful! Click the "Post Response" button to add your entry to the forum.

David W.

I used Khalid Yousuf, who was recommendied by my primary care physician, for my knee replacement. BAYLOR SCOTT & WHITE ORTHOPEDIC ASSOCIATES OF DALLAS. Works out of Pavillion II next to BSW Hospital on Alliance in Plano. He does over 350 knees per year. (Do the math!) I am satisfied with my experience. Note that things get worse before they get better. I have had home PT care for three weeks. Start outpatient PT for six+ weeks today.

Addendum: I had the surgery at BSW Plano on Alliance. Very satisfied with the hospital. Note that a lot of the care is provided by PAs.

David C:

Thanks - did you have to stay in the hospital at all, and if so, how long?

David W. -

My surgery was in the afternoon, and I did stay overnight. Lots of people with morning surgeries are released later in the day.

David C and David W,

Ellen had this surgery as well. And she's proud of her titanium knee. I think it was about 6 weeks overall.....and she was feeling good enough to wish she had done it much sooner!

Here's one for everyone:

David,

I understand why Tommy created Sue Daly and Ron Stocklas now.  That makes it appear that he has twice as many posters on it instead of just Lowell and Sandra.  Lowell says he is only going to post his remembrances on there.  I guess he only wants two people to appreciate it out of a class of 900+.  It is amazing how the traffic over there reduced to nothing after all the socialist rants.

David W,

Presbyterian did my mother about five years ago and she had no problems and it is a nice place.  That is where I had my diverticulitus surgery with a colon pull through after I recovered from the peritonitus.  They are wonderful.

All the two fora hostility garbage -- people who actively insult and degrade others for disagreeing with them claim that they are being insulted and degraded when someone disagrees with an opinion.  It has me thinking -- are lefties that way because they are crazy or are they crazy because they are lefties?

At the credit union today, the clerk next to the one that was dealing with me, told me that they are required to require masks and that there were some over by the door. I said OK, but did nothing, and my clerk didn't say anything, we were done in about 2 more minutes so I left - never had a mask on.

Now I don't wear a mask at Costco, Walgreens or the grocery at all. Over 95% of the people wear them. Got my booster (3rd shot - Pfizer) last week - sore for a couple of days, especially the first.

Bob D,

I think Twain, in response to your final question, would say, "You repeat yourself".

Today is the 32nd anniversary of East Germany's first allowing their subjects to go through the Berlin wall free, after 28 years of that Marxist tyranny. By contrast, I also heard today how Biden & Co. are trying to close another pipeline in the middle of the energy crisis they created, this one from Canada to Michigan. THEY CAN DO ONLY THE WRONG THING FOREVER.

The anniversary of the JFK assassination is less than two weeks from now. Here's something that I learned only recently. Two famous writers also died on November 22, 1963: Aldous Huxley and C.S. Lewis.

David,

I know that statistic seems to grab attention.  What if you had said did you know that only two famous authors died on JFK's Birthday.  All the millions of others died that day included 100's of thousands that were competely illiterate.  It is all in the spin, if the Lefties have taught us anything.

David,

Next week Nov 19 has 2 important events in history.  I was born on Nov 19, 1951 and Pres. Lincoln gave his Gettysburg Address on Nov 19, 1863.

David -- it's interesting that those of us who are old enough to remember November 22, 1963, and those who aren't have such different reactions to that day.  I would be surprised if anyone our age didn't remember that moment when they heard about the assassination.-- like our parents on December 7, 1941.

My favorite is my sister-in-law -- her elementary school class had a field trip to Dealy Square to see the President that day -- they were there when the shooting started.

People more than about twenty years younger than us don't have that date burned in their memories.

Wayne,

Happy Gettys-teenth!!

But you forgot to mention the other of the HOLY TRINITY of dates; i.e., when was Texas A&M founded?

J.D. Tippit died on November 22, 1963, as well. I looked up his name and the J.D. stood for nothing (like a lot of J.D.'s don't stand for much today in the legal world). I was VERY surprised that the J didn't stand for James, since I figured he was named after James Mulvihill.

Tippit was born in 24 and died at 39. Oswald was born in 39 and died at 24.

Also today's Dem Party stands for nothing but evil.

Speaking of the Dem Party, please forgive me, but Pelosi, Kamala & AOC all have great figures! Amazing the coincidence that 3 prominent females at this particular time in history in such positions of power would all have that SOLE POSITIVE ASPECT about any part of their beings!!! Too bad HilLIARy whiffed again since she doesn't "measure up" in that regard! hahahahahahhaha!!!!

A lot of people don't know that one of the theories of the origin of the expression "OK" was the town of Old Kinderhook, New York, where President Martin Van Buren was from. When he was Vice President under "Old Hickory", Van Buren was so solicitous of his President Andrew Jackson's opinion in his position as his number 2, that that nickname evolved for him, and then became part of our culture.

By the way, AOC is NOT A-OK.

All these are Democrats.....what else?

Biden's approval rating is now 38%. Kamala's approval rating is 28%, worst by ANY VP EVER.

I think this question is worth repeating. What in the world are these 28% and 38% "thinking"?!?!?!?!

Over 70% of ALL Americans now think the country is headed in the wrong direction. Again, what are those "less than 30%" "thinking"?!?!?!?

A guy on Tucker was saying that Ukraine is before too long going to be Biden's 2nd Afghanistan - apparently Putin is putting troops on the Ukrainian border, and you know Biden can't and won't be able to do anything about that next domino in his failed foreign policy.

On this day in our history. Ellen and I met for the first time! I knew someone.....who Ellen worked with, and that person suggested I look for her online.
I looked and liked what I saw. (never seen such an attractive girl!) And I found we had similar likes. So I wrote her, and told her she "was very attractive" and left it at that. It was a Friday. No response the rest of that day and all of Saturday until late that night..... she wrote me back and after a brief message, her return comment was: "You're not so bad yourself"
So we texted and talked, and decided to meet at "Seasons 52" (at Northpark near Maggianos) I was a little apprehensive in that, many I dated looked nothing like their pictures!
I took a booth in the bar and waited. Ellen was right on time. (glad I got there early!) She was even prettier than her pictures! She got settled in and asked what I was drinking? I said: "Just water for now; I don't drink" I could tell she wanted a drink. I said, "Go ahead and order though" She said "Are you sure?" "Sure, I've been sober for a number of years, but no ....  doesn't bother me" She took the cue, and stopped the waiter. She then rattled off: "I'll have a dirty martini with Tito's vodka and lots of blue cheese olives!" (this order came out like ABCs recited at 78 rpms!) I said, "Wow you sure seemed to know exactly what you want." The waiter was still standing there with eyebrows raised...  and asked me what I wanted. "I'll stay with ice water!" Ellen then laughed.

We had hit it off, and talked for a bit and I noticed her looking at my hair. "Anything wrong?" Her response was: "I was looking at your hair being so dark.....and at first thought you colored it?" Obviously you don't,, just seems rare." I said "Guess there's a compliment in there somewhere!" (she laughed again)

So the whole evening went so well, we stayed for dinner! I was beginning to think I had finallly met someone I really liked, and it got serious pretty quickly! So we married in eleven months!

We both are advocates of "likes attract" because we have many of the same tastes and preferences. (with our exes being so opposite!)

So we've been back to Seasons 52 many times, and they know us when we go there!

Oh and the hair? Ellen said she wouldnt have gone out with me again, if I had colored it!

I'm particularly concerned about Biden's nominees.

Saule Omarova as Comptroller of the Currency. Educated at Moscow State University with a dissertation on Marxism.

From Fox News:

Naming the coal, oil and gas industries, specifically, Omarova said "a lot" of the "small players" in those industries "are going to probably go bankrupt in short order," adding: "At least we want them to go bankrupt if we want to tackle climate change, right?"

She also seems to want the Federal Reserve to take over consumer lending. That doesn't work for me.

Have you been to the 6th Floor Museum? I've visited three or four times. Very interesting.

11/10/21 11:34 PM #22913

Janalu Jeanes (Parchman)

David,

I've been watching the developing stance toward Omarova.  I sure hope our Congress doesn't confirm her, as she is obviously a far-leftist, Communist-lite, just waiting to get her hands on our Treasury Dept. dealings.  She is a snake-in-the-grass, who would be delighted to see the US get taken down a few notches, to level the playing field as she determines it should be, with her biased thoughts of her former homeland's groupthink, in its relationship with Russian governance; a dominant country (Russia) she obviously admires greatly, with her gratitude toward the education they gave her.  Being a mixed Asian lady, she has the proclivity toward education excellence, and she is quite dangerous to Americans' naivete of people with her background, wouldn't you agree?

Yikes!
