Welcome to the Richardson High School Message Forum.

The Message Forum is an ongoing dialogue among classmates. The goal is to encourage friendly interaction, including interaction among classmates who really didn't know each other. Experience on the site has revealed that certain topics tend to cause friction and hard feelings, especially politics and religion.

Although politics and religion are not completely off-limits, classmates are asked to be positive in their posts and not to be too repetitive or allow a dialog to degenerate into an argument.

Forums work when people participate - so don't be bashful! Click the "Post Response" button to add your entry to the forum.

Steve/Lowell,

Nonplussed also means being under Marxist governance, except that you don't get the equalled, but only the minused.

Chief Bedpost,

I know you too well.  Tell us what you really think.  That that routine would have been a lot more interesting sans clothes.

Chief Toenails,

SSSSHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

By the way, did you mean she would be doing The the routine sans clothes or I would be watching sans clothes? I know you too well - both, right?

About Biden --

It is sad when someone is stupid. It is catastrophic when that same person is the President of the United States and thinks he is smart.

Peggy Noonan had a good line. She was talking to someone who knew Biden well and who said that Biden always thinks he is the smartest person in the room. Her response: "They must be small rooms."

I have asked this several times and no one has ever given me a good reason.

What is wrong with early voting having a 24 hour voting pol place or 2 or 3 in a large metropolitan area?

I find nothing wrong with that.    Is it just too hip or modern or progressive?

Lowell, why do we need 24-hour voting?

Separately, we watched The Courier last night on on Amazon Prime. Benedict Cumberbatch. He's always good. It's based on a true story about passing secrets from Russia with regard to missles in Cuba. Very good movie.

Lowell

It gives a chance for the party in power to know how many votes are needed to change the election.  Then they have enough time for computer programs and boxes of prefilled out ballots to be inserted in the system to throw the election.  You never came back at my comment that maybe you didn't get all the protection you desired from the football helmet and pads on your bike after looking at your profile picture.  I thought you would like that one and was eagerly anticipating your funny comeback.

Lowell,

Having 24 hr a day for 15 days would be hard to staff and keep the buildings open. With 14 days of early voting with 7 am to PM voting times and being open on Saturday and  Sunday, how does that prevent anyone from finding a time to vote and some say it would be hard on minorities. And how will limiting the drop off boxes for absentee ballots when an absentee ballot can be dropped in any US Postal Service box makes it hard to vote? Is it because Dems and minorities do not trust the USPS?

When in Dallas County there have been minority canidates for local offices, County Commissioner, City Council, State Rep and others have used voter fraud to get elected, how does that make fraud insignificant? When there are elections in Texas that end up in a tie or less than 10 vote difference make fraud unimportant?

Why would a Dallas Latino leader and Democrat have his neices register to vote in his district when they lived in another county so he could be elected  make fraud insignificant?  When one of the neices reported the fraud she was exilled from the family.

You have to look at local races that can be affected and not statewide or national races.

How much fraud is acceptable?

In Texas history LBJ won a US Senate race with a fraudlent ballot box from the Valley because without the box he would have lost.  That gave him the nicname " Landslide Lyndon".

There have been people in Dallas County that harvested votes by getting a number of mail-in ballots and holding them until a canidate paid them to turn in the ballots. Real cases dealing with fraud

Good points, David and Steve!

Who the heck votes at 3:00 AM?  And what precinct worker wants to sit at a voting precinct at 3:00 AM just waiting around for voters to arrive?  There would have to be police protection provided for a worker at 3:00 AM, since no one would know what type of situation might happen at 3:00 AM in an unlocked building at that ridiculous hour, right?

And when drive-through voting is allowed, with maybe six people arriving in a car, there is no privacy of a person's recorded vote, which is what is supposed to happen with each vote.  Each vote cast could be just a predetermined prank vote or a vote cast with no rational thought given it, which is detrimental to our country's future, of course.

Also, having a "voting month or voting '6 weeks period,' is, as Steve was saying, an allowance period for malfeasance to occur, or "cheating," and is not needed.  Voters who have given appropriate thought to what voting is meant to be, will be able to figure out how to get to their precincts within a scheduled time frame, or they can vote early if they request a ballot be sent to their address, just as all of us have done for many years.  We don't need the Democrat Party trying to inform us that WE MUST HAVE A VOTING MONTH OF DAYS.   We need to stop the falsehoods circulating in our news media, saying that Black people, Hispanics, Asian citizens, or any other minority are not smart enough or are not able to set aside an hour or two in their schedules to be able to get to their precincts to vote.  Saying those types of statements is to say that particular groups living among us are ignorant, or could even be construed as racist statements!  We have noticed that all of our citizens or even folks living here with green card IDs, etc., do certainly know how to get themselves to their local cell phone offices to buy their cell phones and arrange the payment schedules for the phones, or even some 'family plan phone arrangements,' so if they can do that (!) then they can arrange their voting needs too, doncha' think?

It is pretty darn obvious to see why the Democrats NEED their permanent "under-class" of people living in the United States, isn't it?  We've been informed that THAT was indeed happening, and now we can actually SEE IT HAPPENING before our own eyes, in due course!

Wide open borders forever!

Lowell,

Would not having one 24 hr voting site in Harris County make it hard for minorities to travel across the county to vote thus making the policy trying to keep minorities from voting?

Wayne Gary

Lowell,

In Pres Bidens home state of Del. they do not have early voting. Is that not them trying to deny minorities the right ot vote?

Here's a video showing the charting-topping number 1 hit for every month of the 60's - almost 26 minutes long - some clips more interesting than others.

David C,

Re: the female trick bike rider.

I used to do a more complicated routine when I was semi-comatose. Easy, peasy, Japan-easy.

What, she thinks she's a gymnast or something? I've seen Jimmy Baker do better tricks when he was brushing his teeth. And she's obviously got WAY too much time on her hands.

In conclusion, call me a revisionist but, WOW, she was GREAT! Remarkable sustained body control!

You know, I'm really getting pretty sick of all you right-wingers - all you've got is logic, truth & common sense. Lowell has a solution - 24-hour voting. No wonder the Dems don't seem to think there's anything wrong with a completely open border or willingly turning over a country to a proven group of unchanging terrorist barbarians, meanwhile abandoning fellow Americans and the allied natives without a second thought (August 31 Uber Alles - in the 30's/40's it was Deutschland Uber Alles), AND ARMING THE NOW SOVEREIGN TERRORISTS AT U.S. TAXPAYER EXPENSE with the latest weaponry to inflict more damage on whomever, but especially us. Is there ANY question whose side we're on now? Look out, Jerusalem, here we ALL come!!!!

All,

Just found out Jimmy Baker has non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and he is bedridden for the next 15 weeks while he gets treatment.  His doctor tells him there is a good chance of cure after treatment, but you and I know these things are in God's hands, not ours.  Christian Baker, Jimmy's son has set up a GoFundMe page for Jim.

Jim does not have the energy for phone calls, emails or visits, but well wishes and encouragement may be posted on the GoFundMe page.  Jim is a Christian and I am sure he would welcome our prayers for his recovery.

I know many of you have issues with Tommy Thomas, but let me tell you that he has taken an active role supporting Jim at this time, taking care of his pets and making sure he has transportation and other needs fulfilled during this crisis.

Sandra Spieker (Ringo)

This is what Tommy posted on his website about Jimmy Baker.  In the post is information on the GoFundMe page (a link), plus other information about Jim and his condition.

Perhaps our best-known and best-liked classmate -- Jimmy Baker -- has Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. According to Jimmy, his oncologist told him that, after six rounds of chemotherapy three weeks apart, he will be cured. I'm placing my hope and faith in that.

His first round of chemotherapy is on Wednesday, September 8. So, hopefully, he will be through with all this and cured by Christmas.

I just visited him at his home, and he is not in any condition to acknowledge or respond to any messages by phone, text, email, or otherwise. I will see him tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday, September 7) to take his dog Bumblebee to a dog sitter for an indeterminate period of time. If he is in a condition to accept them, I will be happy to pass along any message from any of our classmates. Email me at cherocreek1969@gmail.com or, better yet, simply post your message here on the Punography Message Forum. As soon as he is able to personally respond to you (right now his energy level is very low), I'll post that information here so that those of you who wish to contact him can do so.

Jimmy's younger son Christian set up a GoFundMe page so that anyone who'd like to contribute to his financial well-being can do so. As far as I know, Jimmy's health insurance will cover all of his treatments so the funds will be used to replace his lost income and any expenses he incurs because of his illness. That photo you see on the GoFundMe page was taken a couple of weeks ago when Jimmy took a long-planned trip with his two sons -- Sterling and Christian -- to northern California. I am sure you will notice that he doesn't look like his usual enthusiastic and energetic self.

Jimmy Baker's GoFundMe Page

His sister Marianne will be taking him to his chemotherapy on Wednesday morning, and I will pick him up Wednesday afternoon. I'll post an update either Wednesday evening or Thursday morning on his condition. This is a take it day by day thing for all of us as neither Jimmy, Marianne, nor I have ever been involved with someone taking chemotherapy. If any of you have been through this and has any advice for what is to come, please post here. That way the largest number of people will get the benefit of your knowledge.

Please keep Jimmy (he's Jim now) in your thoughts and prayers.

David, re Biden thinking he's the smartest person in the room:  it takes a certain level of intelligence to realize what one does not know.  It's  the "fools rush in where angels fear to tread" phenomenom.

I've noticed that actual smart people tend to overestimate other's intelligence while dullards underestimate others because they don't follow the reasoning or analysis so they think it's bs.

Gutfeld today:

Kamala has done the impossible. She has managed to be invisible AND unpopular. Like flatulence. She's political flatulence.

This isn't from Gutfeld:

Also Kamala WAS SO GREAT on her assigned task, the border catastrophe, that she's now going to California (further distancing herself from Afghanistan, about which she has been totally silent, right?) to try to convince Californians to keep their Dem Governor Newsom from being recalled. She's so persuasive, especially about root causes. Go for it, Kamala!

Jimmy Baker,

I'm a real sucker for a female voice and also any slide instrument. Here's a group from California, a girl duo with great backing instruments, although they play too.

Maybe somebody can get these to Jimmy if he's also such a sucker for a female voice. Here are 3 of my favorite songs by them, the Ditty Bops - so soothing:
