Welcome to the Richardson High School Message Forum.

The Message Forum is an ongoing dialogue among classmates. The goal is to encourage friendly interaction, including interaction among classmates who really didn't know each other. Experience on the site has revealed that certain topics tend to cause friction and hard feelings, especially politics and religion.

Although politics and religion are not completely off-limits, classmates are asked to be positive in their posts and not to be too repetitive or allow a dialog to degenerate into an argument.

Forums work when people participate - so don't be bashful! Click the "Post Response" button to add your entry to the forum.

David,

Hull and I regret to inform you that Apollo Creed, the Texas Tech of the Stalone dynasty, was trampled to death at the entrance to a Walmart today.

Steve,

I'm not exactly sure what that means, but if it were translated into numbers, I guess it would be 49-24.

David,

I give up on football this year.  Fortunately I hear the leftovers in the kitchen calling my name.

Is Jerry Jones delirious or what?  Does he really think His Cowboys will now take off on a win streak that will land them another Super Bowl Title this year? I want some of what he is drinking or smoking! I guess Jerry has become a Fiction Writer as he talks about how the Cowboys are going to write "The Greatest Story".

Jason Garrett is a good guy and the second most tenured coach of the Dallas Cowboys behind Tom Landry, but he is no Tom Landry. Garrett's team has taken on his personality and he does not have a leader to kick butt as a coach or a player. Tom Landry was able to keep his low profile on the sideline, as Garrett, because he had kick butt coaches such as Ernie Stautner along with a hungry bunch of players that really wanted to win, i.e. Roger Staubach, Bob Lilly, Don Meredith, Chuck Howley, D D Lewis, Charlie Waters, Cliff Harris, Tony Dorsett, Randy White etc... Then there was Jimmy Johnson after Tom Landry's era. Does anyone remember how low key Jimmy Johnson was? - NOT!! Jimmy had several players and coaches that would get in your grill! Coach Dave Wanstadt and players like Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin and Charles Haley took over the locker room!  Jimmy had a culture in his locker room that exuded confidence and swagger. I don't see even a hint of that culture in Garrett's locker room, do you?

So Cowboy fans, what's it gonna take to bring a Super Bowl back to Dallas?

My Conspiracy Theory

I have been criticized over the past several months about my theory of the next Head Coach of The Dallas Cowboys by such GREAT friends as Hal Zelazny.  And Steve Keene you brought up a former OU assitant and current Head Coach, Mike Leach as a possible replacement for Garrett. You may not be too far off. When was the last time OU won a National Championship? Let me tell you, it was in 2000! Who was the Head Coach? Bob Stoops! Who was the Offensive Cordinator? Mike Leach! Has Jerry ever hired a former college coach as head coach for The Dallas Cowboys before? Let me see; How about two, and both have won a College National Championship- Jimmy Johnson at Miami and Barry Switzer at Oklahoma.

Coach Stoops retired at OU and was living in the lap of luxury in Norman, OK as a neighbor of former OU and Dallas Cowboy head coach Barry Switzer. And folks before you judge anything about Norman Oklahoma living, there are some very high end residential properties in Norman. I personally lived across the street and two houses down from Barry Switzer and Steve Owens when I lived in Norman. I know Barry and I know he talks to Bob Stoops.

WHY DID BOB STOOPS take a demeaning minor league football professional coaching job in Dallas when he could have named his price at ANY high profile college if he wanted to return to coaching? I believe Jerry Jones was involved in that decision. My thought is let Stoops get a taste of Pro Football (in Dallas) in a minor league environment while adjusting to a possible life with the Dallas Cowboys. Now guess what? Garrett's contract is up this year. Another National Championship coach is completely available to Jerry Jones. My Guess is That Barry Switzer has been in Jerry's ear for at least two years now for Bob Stoops as the next coach of the Dallas Cowboys!

I remember when the 60's Cowboys had reached their lowest low (other than the first season,) and the press called for Landry's head.

There was no sports talk radio or ESPN in those days, just The News, The Times Herald, and The Star Telegram.

But, Murchison and Schram thought about it and gave Landry a 10 year contract.

Course, it was probably only 100 grand a year.

I hear the Texas Tech meat grading team did pretty good this month.  I have some choice words for the other select teams.  They do not look in their prime.

Now we can begin to think about celebrating Christmas.  I know a few West Texas guys that need to make alternate plans for their Christmas gift delivery this year

AW-w-w-w-w-w!  Poor Santa and reindeer sweeties!

What a revoltin' predicament this is!   Who's job description is it to rescue Santa and the reindeer immediately, from our darn contraptions that muddle-up the airways?  Do we call 911, or T. Boone Pickens?  He's 'gone to Glory,' right?  So who is next in line, I'm wondering?

Who has a cherry-picker that goes up that high, and knows how to handle a chubby, grandfatherly guy in a foul mood, and also kicking, biting reindeer with wide racks whipping around, ripping through clothing with mighty force?

Do we have any volunteers?  The children have great expectations, don'tcha know?

Santa says, "Somebody hep' me!  Please!"

Janalu,

Hollis and Sandra say if we just steal money from (I mean tax) the rich we can get them right down.  First they will have to staff a committee of ten making $120,000 a year to study the problem.  Then they will need time for their children to be hired by the contractors they propose to use.  Then we will have to make sure the contractors only use union labor that supports the Democrat party and are registered Democrats.  Then we need to pay wacko Democrat environmental think tanks for an environmental impact study.  Then we will have to make sure that the transportation to and from the site is handled by Teamster union drivers controlled by the Democrats.  Then we will have to restore the site with government contractors and reseed around the tower.  No vehicles using fossil fuel will be allowed to be used in the reclamation of Santa and his reindeer.  Santa will be checked to be sure he has a permit to harness reindeer to cross state lines and fined.  The bag of toys will have to be examined to be sure taxes are paid and duties paid on the elfhandcrafted items brought in from the North Pole.  Santa will also be checked for carrying insurance on his vehicle, his reindeer and replacement insurance for the content of his bag.  After Santa pays his fines, and his new insurance and has to begin feeding supplements to his reindeer that were determined to be undernourished by PETA  he will find that it is no longer cost effective to deliver presents next year.  Santa will be charged with entering the country illegally to distribute toys to rich children and will be declared a possible terrorist and put on the no fly list.  So in effect, the Democrats get the opportunity they have been striving for for some time, Putting a stop to CHRISTMAS.

Weakness for this song/album.  I had it on album (about 3-4 times purchased,) 4 track, 8 track, cassette, and now on DC, plus here is Youtube.

Saw Jeff, Rod, and Nicky (Hopkins) together at McFarlin Auditorium 11 08 1968.

Tried to get a date...too shy...got Tom Woods to go.  1968.  I was embarrassed he wore his letter jacket...At least we were in the second balcony.  McFarlin is or was a great venue for some really great shows...  Mainly listened on 4 track.  Really wanted to hear I ain't Superstitious, but on a 4 track you couldnot fast forward or reverse, so had to listen all the way through...Thus, I soon found this was a very great album.

After watching part of a football game, I left the TV on CBS and saw a 60 minutes report about YouTube. The way Leslie Stahl tells it, everything evil on YouTube originates from the right. I am reminded why I don't watch 60 Minutes.

Lowell -- prediction on tonight's game??

David,

I am happily watching CBS on channel 11 watching Mahomes pick apart the Oakland Raiders 31 to 3.  Suddenly the jerks come on and say since the game is out of hand they are going to give me the privilege of watching Tom Brady and the Patriots in a close game.  Right in the start of the fourth quarter when Mahomes is just getting warmed up, they get this bright idea.  How do you cancel Channel 11 and CBS?  I guess I could designate it, Rachel Maddow and couple of others as porn and use my family protection controls to keep from having to see these come up on the screen again.

Steve,

Yes, your boy Mahomes looks pretty good, but the game was a stinker. But they didn't switch to Brady and the Patriots. They switched to the Broncos and the Chargers, and the Broncos won on a last second field goal.

Meanwhile, I expected the Patriots to treat the Texans badly, but it seems to be the other way around.

Take a bow, Lowell!

David,

You were right.  Senior bowl moment.

Newsflash:

Former Heisman Trophy winner and former TCU coach Pat Sullivan passed away today at the ripe old age of 69.  Damn I am glad I am not that old.

Texans are a hoot.  Watch them get swept by Tennessee...I am a fan, but we have the Rockets and the Astros and I loved the Oilers.   I get to go next Sunday to the Broncos game.

The Cowboys have a tough schedule.  They may make the playoffs with a losing record.  They are good enough to beat anybody, but they don't.

I listened to UT Tech on the way to golf until it was 14-0 Tech.

Then, the group I was playin with was watching Virginia vs V Tech...After that was decided on about 12th hole I asked them to check on the Longhorns and was very surprised.

Texas needs about 15 Jadavian Clowney's.

David,

I noticed that about Leslie Stahl too.  The lady from Google made sense to me, explaining how she reviews and edits certain negative postings, but Leslie just couldn't understand why she left certain 'right wing' posts up. It was obvious Leslie wanted almost all right wing postings taken down, as she felt they were offensive, but the Google lady said, "No, that one can stay, and that one also can stay...."   Leslie looked askance and raised her eyebrows about those particular posts.  We could tell that SHE thought those Conservative viewpoints were uncouth or inappropriate.  She seemed to think free speech was okay for Liberals, but Conservatives should be monitored and censored when they hurt Liberal's feelings.

Do you really NOT watch 60 Minutes?

I watch, but yes I know that they lean to the left in the telling.  However, I like to hear the subject matter, and I ignore the attitudes conveyed most of the time.

Lowell,

I agree. We could end up with like a 7-9 record and still win the division.

Say what you want about Belicheat......his standing on the sidelines surveying the field (and taking notes) looks a whole lot better than Garrett throwing the football around with the team before the game looks a lot more lackadaisical than professional. The Cowboys have the talent......they just need a fiery coach who can keep that team pumped up!

You guys have been tossing around Stoops' name.......and yet, I've heard there is talk of Urban Meyer from the college ranks.

Whatever, the writing is on the wall. Its been evident all season when Garrett did not get an extension.

And NO I don't like Belicheck. TWO tripping penalties in ONE game land squarely in his lap! And Lowell did you notice before the Texans/Patriots game an official was there bumping fists with the Patriots.....but no zebra outside the Texans locker room?! Hmmmm........

It was suggested somewhere that Ref's be required to meet the press after the game like the players and coaches are required.

I haven't thought it out, and maybe personalities would eventually be built that would cause fairness questions to emerge, but I would like either a league or ref spokesman to meet the press, at least after important games.

On another note, watched The Irishman last night (actually over two nights,( as it is almost four hours.)  On Netflix, there is a post film question and answer with Pacino, Pesci, Deniro, and Scorcese   It is pretty inciteful to see those guys still being quick witted at their age.   Makes me think I still have a few more years to get my wit quickened.

Come back down to earth.  We have all agreed that you are at your wit's end. That sure was a cute kid picture of you on facebook.  You need to post that on the forum.

I definitley was at my "cute-looks" end at about 9.

Got that picture from Randy Talley, his dad was coach of Rinky Dinks (Lions Club) Lions.   That's a sixth grade photo.  By the way, he shows up as a 69 graduate on our profiles list.  I verified with him he graduated in 1970.  So, there is a name available for scammin.

Now, I will try to remember how to image it into my profile.
