Welcome to the Richardson High School Message Forum.

The Message Forum is an ongoing dialogue among classmates. The goal is to encourage friendly interaction, including interaction among classmates who really didn't know each other. Experience on the site has revealed that certain topics tend to cause friction and hard feelings, especially politics and religion.

Although politics and religion are not completely off-limits, classmates are asked to be positive in their posts and not to be too repetitive or allow a dialog to degenerate into an argument.

Forums work when people participate - so don't be bashful! Click the "Post Response" button to add your entry to the forum.

David C et al,

Now we just need a Whatacommie APP to locate the rotten Dem politicians!

David, the main thing is the emergency road service.   And, for you, the traffic ticket arrest bail bond benefit.laugh

I think as soon as the Whataburger power map went viral, Centerpoint made theirs available again.   But, it's very hard to read...and, it doesn't matter.   If you don't have power, you don't.   We don't...

But, I am running a generator and learning a lot about living with one.   I was hovering a 40 lb gas can in the air, loading in the gas.   I complained about it on facebook and my friend Rick Osgood, former and longtime owner of Rick's Darts and games, in Houston, informed be of a liquid transfer tool at Harbor Freights for $13.00.  I got one and I don't know how I ever lived without one.   You gotta have it...

But, regardless...think in terms of Forrest Gump's line, "She tasted like cigarrettes..."

Susie says, I smell like gasoline...

Oh well...

PS   Lost my phone on a whataburger run this morning.   What a friggn hassle...left it in the Academy shopping cart...Idiot...

Lowell,

I would like to chip in with some moolah, along with members of this Forum, to provide you and Susie with a night or two at your local Motel 6!  You deserve a break after what you've experienced the last few days, and you need some lovely AC to banish the humidity effects that have caused frazzled nerves inside your body!

But you will have to cough up your own money for a new phone.......Sorry..........

We modern day folks are just not made of the same stuff as Sam Houston and his merry band of settlers.  How did those people manage to survive that swampy, marshy land area, battling mosquitos and angry Native Americans, with just the goods they carried in their covered wagons, and a couple of mules plus maybe one cow per family?

They probably wondered many times why they left their native land to have a new beginning in a new country of many difficult challenges, but they had guts and determination to carry on, by golly!

We've been "ordered" to Austin and Richardson by brother and sister...Susie say no...so, we are experiencing this along with a bunch others...

Had to share this song because of my hair then...

I have a question I hope some of our wise and learned readers can answer.

Why is it SO IMPORTANT to the Democrats that we MUST NOT HAVE VOTER ID that would tell the precinct workers of a person's US citizenship, as well as other pertinent information?

I just don't understand the objections.  It makes no logical sense to me.  Democrats DECLARE LOUDLY that there are those among us who might experience discrimination, but I fail to see how that would happen when using the method I describe below.  It seems to me and to others I have talked to, that there is a more sinister reason as to why the Dems are making their fuss.

I think we citizens could mail voter IDs to every citizen, just as our state of Texas mails us our state voter cards, according to our registered addresses, and, I think, the registrar's offices could have access to our Social Security numbers information, which would verify citizenship of all of our citizens, wouldn't it?  Don't we now get social security cards when our children are born?   I don't see why that would be a problem for anybody.  If a better method is figured out, then we could use that. Also, naturalized citizens will have already met the requirements for citizenship, so THAT information will be available to registrar's, when the registrars are looking for the birth certificate info; those new citizens who have passed the naturalization classes.

There is NO REASON that a person who is not a citizen should be voting in our elections, and we even already have that law on our books.  So why did most of the Democrats in THE US HOUSE Of REPS., vote AGAINST requiring citizenship verification just two days ago?

There is something going on here that is foul, in my opinion.  I've heard from a variety of sources, that illegals entering our borders are ALREADY being furnished Voter Registration applications.  WHY????????   The "newcomers" have many steps to take to establish themselves in our country, BEFORE they get to a point of becoming a registered voter.  RIGHT????

Also, I've heard that those movable mailboxes that were provided during the pandemic are now being placed AGAIN all around the country.  WHY?  Those boxes are NOT NEEDED NOW since the pandemic is passed, and those boxes were highly suspected of having been stuffed, in the dead of night, usually, from places that were houses and offices unapproved of having ballots, especially large numbers of mysterious ballots (there is video of 'suspect' people putting into those mailboxes piles of ballots from suspicious places----as was shown in a documentary film seen in movie theaters-----and there is also info that was gathered after the presidential election, as to where those ballots actually originated...info that was gathered mainly in Georgia by the Raffensperger guy who we have seen on TV reports.  He decided to investigate the video given to him, since the lady in charge of the video's filming, accused Mr. Raffensperger of not getting the true "total tally" of his state, after ballots were counted.  Since she spoke with him in a cooperating manner, he decided to take another look, and, indeed, he found information about 'druggie-type people' who were getting paid by naughty folks involved in illicit activities (you can look up the info if you want to get more on the story. However, don't go to WIKIPEDIA for info, since WIKIPEDIA has banned the story, and info about the story----They have censored the true information, because they don't agree with it because of their political leanings----pure and simple) to tranfer marked ballots to temporary mailboxes nearby.  Mr. Raffensperger said that from now on, he would make sure to have monitors surveilling all mailboxes, everywhere, to prevent any illegal ballot mishandling, since he is now aware that illegal ballot manipulations really do happen in his state.

Anyway, the bottom line is that unless those temporary, movable mailboxes have constant surveillance cameras on them at all times, they should not be used again.  Ballots should be mailed at proper mailboxes, and there are many proper mailing places available.  If there is a person who cannot leave his house, then that person needs to apply for a mail-in ballot, that will have strict instructions attached, on how to mail it back in, with a chain of necessary 'hand-off' security measures.  All of the security measures MUST MEET NECESSARY CODES so that no one will be able to intersect the chain of 'hand-off' seals and procedures.  These ballots MUST be insured of being handled ONLY BY CERTAIN VERIFIED HANDLERS, or else they will NOT be accepted.

TRANSMITTING DELUSIONAL

Folie à deux

Folie à deux (French for "madness of two", also known as shared psychosis or shared delusional disorder (SDD), is a psychiatric syndrome in which symptoms of a delusional belief, ..., is a psychiatric syndrome in which symptoms of a delusional belief, are "transmitted" from one individual to another.

Jan, you said: I actually don't like using my real last name on these forums, since everyone can see it.. I made the change a while back.. call me paranoid.

Actually, I believe you are being prudent…not paranoid…that is, being suspicious of Sue.

Lowell you said;  My worries are this was just storm 1.

I’m so sorry you and your fellow Houstonians have suffered by Beryl…historically one of the earliest Cat 5 hurricanes to traverse from the lower Caribbean to Vermont!

I share your fears for another round of Gulf Coast devastation before October.

You also said:  The answer is the same for about everything the GOP goes for.    They take away voting rights with initiatives which seem valid, and then they push for more.   They rationalize each step of the way it is a valid measure.

Well cousin, your statement above suggests delusional thinking.   House Speaker Mike Johnson’s bill is intended to ensure and maintain “legal voters” rights…while eliminating illegal voters from the rolls.

As refreshments for escaping delusions and Hurricane Berly...you're always invited to join us here for lunch and a nice swim at our beach in Dallas!

Janalu,

your LATE NITE RANT why JOE WON’T GO dances around the root cause and effects of the American Experiment’s struggle of sharing, and subsequently transferring governmental power…that runs contrary to mankind's inherent and evil desire as monarch to control his own destiny and those of others; while raising his fist against the supreme ruling government of God... arriving soon with Jesus as monarch.

Wayne said:  Remember Ron S. and Sue are both identities of Tommy when he has been smoking a joint.  I don't know how he can go out in public or host a reunion gathering where someone could be carrying a gun…

I thought you, along with the fine citizens of Texas are as of 2021 legally no longer required to have a license to carry (LTC) a handgun in most public places. This would include delusional voters who are either Dem or GOP voters.

Tommy said:  Janalu, All of your questions, concerns, and suspicions will be addressed during the incredibly creative and smile-inducing short program at the Heights Reunion.

As sole Marketing Manager for the RHS 55th  Shadow Reunion, I’m impressed with how well you’ve hyped the event at Heights Elementary to spirit attendees into a delusional state of childhood euphoria!

I went to the Neil Young concert recently which was magnificent .  The concert I saw was the last one for this year, as he then canceled the rest of the year's venues…  I was lucky…  I had purchased tickets through ticket master for the first time in eons.   Naturally , they just got hacked and the people that bought tickets in a month and half period of time had their information hacked…  Already had a card compromised the first of this year.

I was saying I am and have been diligent about my information …  I have never posted my birthdate on this forum and after the Ron Stocklas deal here and no one knew who it was , I removed the name I really go by.   Sue, I never really engaged with ,some thing was just alittle fishy, till I figured it out ..   I have not been on any other platforms that scammers have been able to retrieve so much information from people , luckly.

I recently removed my personal message on my phone’s answering machine because now people are using voice recognition from others and using it to get into personal accounts..

Yes, call me paranoid , stupid and naive.. but as of now, we are all in for it… I believe.  So I keep my accounts frozen, etc…  but still have gotten an email recently saying "here is my bill in PDF",  from some weird name and a text saying I now owe 4k in a dental office.  DID delete…

It is getting crazy…

As far as Lowell’s and Jerry’s recent experience with disasters , we all need to become preppers..  and learn from all of Lowell’s experience. He tells it like it is and what it can be like………………….

My best to Lowell and Susie.  Wish I could help. My thoughts are with all you all that live in the Houston area.

Just for fun, now.laugh like these guys..

Always had MONEY kept in small bills....  and I always kept gallons of water and rotating them...   extra big bags of dog food, rotated, ofcourse....... and a grab bag  and as well as a big tupperware container in the car ,  filled with toiletries , clothes , sleeping bags etc , incase we couldn't get home. I keep tons of battery types.

I have an extra charged gizmo , so I can charge my phone for 8 more hours...  and I love wood stoves just for those times.......

Always have an arranged place to meet up with all your family members , incase of an unexpected emergency and no cell phone service. .

DemFriends -

Have any of you shared your views on the Democrat presidential nomination? Are you Biden loyalists or do you want Joe to go?

Some thoughts:

  • Having watched my team mocked for the lack of cohesion in the Speaker follies, I confess that it does give me a bit of enjoyment at watching the Dems struggle. "Shoe, meet the other foot."
  • Dems claim to worry that Trump will end democracy, but they are trying to dump someone who was democratically elected to the nomination.
  • The press started to twist the knives into Biden, but since he has dug in his heels, it seems to me that they have backed off. They can't appear to oppose Biden if he is the ultimate Dem standard bearer. They wanted to dump him to get a "better" candidate, but bottom line is to elect a Democrat. I expect to hear crickets.
  • I agree with Janalu about voter ID/registration. Dem opposition undermines confidence in the whole election system. It just says, "We plan to cheat." The mock-concern about voter suppression is a red herring.

Well, Trump grabbed his ear and there was blood on the side of his face (apparently a bullet nicked his ear). THANK GOD Donald was not assassinated today at his rally 50 miles north of Pittsburgh. The left is SO MUCH MORE VIOLENT than the right, from the Steve Scalise shooting to the 2020 post-George-Floyd-death riots, and on and on. PATHETIC!

Yikes! I just learned about the shooting. What kind of country is this??

I have to hand it to Trump. When he got up he was defiant. Fist upraised, shouting, "Fight!" while the Secret Service formed a cocoon around him. Most of us would have been melting into the floorboards. The audience obviously heard/saw that reaction and they stood up and cheered.

I watched the video several times, and it looked to me that he had just moved he head slightly forward, toward the camera. That may have been the difference between a grazed ear and a chunk of skull. Watch it and see if you agree.

I will add that some of the hatred toward Trump from the left could rile crazy people to do this type of assassination attempt.

If a crazy person hears that Trump will end Democracy, which is totally stupid, he may do something totally stupid. Same forhearing that he is Hitler, or a fascist. Just cut it out!

Maybe Biden will allow RFK to have Secret Service protection now.

Prayers for the whole Trump family, epecially 18-year-old Barron.

I noticed also before anybody on TV mentioned it, that his head movement at the PERFECT time may very well have saved the Donald's life.

On November 22, 1963, other people who died on that day, other than JFK, included Aldous Huxley who wrote "Brave New World" & C.S. Lewis who wrote "The Chronicles of Narnia".

If Donald Trump had been killed on Saturday, July 13, he would have died the same day as exercise guru Richard Simmons (died at 76).

Bill Barr released a statement after the shooting.

He said:

"The Democrats and the media keep saying that Trump is an existential threat to our country!  He is NOT an existential threat!"

I think that is essentially what many of us have been saying for a long while, when we state that TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME is way out-of-hand, and can set unstable people off their rockers!

Representative Steve Scalise came on TV to say that he understands what Trump must be feeling now, that his prayers are with him, and with our country, as we try heartily to tone down the vitriol and the madness.

Wow, Jan! I didn't figure you to be a survivalist!

About the money, maybe you read that investigators found $480,000 in cash in Senator Bob Menendez's house. I guess it was just for a rainy day. A really, really rainy day.

But I think I will consider some of your actions, especially with the situation with energy.

This attempt on Trump’s life is nothing new.  See below for the list of presidents, former presidents and candidates who have survived assassination attempts.  Then there is the list of who did not survive below that.

I am deeply saddened by all of this.  ALL OF IT.  I see the blame game has begun.  It must be the Democrats fault, or the Republicans, and on and on.  This will go on for weeks and months.    As for me.  I am sick at heart for the people attending that were injured and the one person so far who lost their life while attending a political rally.  Sickening.  There is also nothing, absolutely nothing I can do about this.  My first instinct is to keep quiet about my political feelings and leanings.  This to protect myself from recrimination and possible violence.  That is the saddest part of all.

Multiple presidents, former presidents or candidates have survived assassination attempts

In the pre-Civil War era, President Andrew Jackson was shot at while attending a funeral in the Capitol. The shooter fired twice, but the gun failed.

Former President Theodore Roosevelt, like Trump, was trying to get his old job back during the 1912 campaign. He was shot on the way to a speech in Milwaukee by a saloon keeper. Roosevelt later said a folded-up copy of his 50-page speech slowed the bullet, which stayed in his body for the rest of his life. He gave the speech despite the shooting.

Franklin D. Roosevelt was president-elect when a would-be assassin fired at him in Miami in 1933. The shooter, Guiseppe Zangara, missed Roosevelt but killed Chicago Mayor Anton Cermak. He was put to death by electrocution.

Harry Truman, who took over the presidency after Roosevelt died, was shot at across from the White House by Puerto Rican nationalists in 1950.

Alabama Gov. George Wallace, a segregationist who was running for president for the third time in 1972, was shot after a campaign event outside Washington, DC. The shooting left him paralyzed from the waist down, and he later rethought his politics.

Gerald Ford faced two assassination attempts in quick succession in 1975. Lynette “Sqeaky” Fromme, a follower of cult leader Charles Manson, was foiled before she could fire at Ford in Sacramento, California. Weeks later, a woman named Sara Jane Moore shot at Ford in San Francisco but missed because a bystander grabbed her.

Ronald Reagan was shot in 1981 outside the Hilton in Washington, DC, after giving a speech. His press secretary, James Brady, was more seriously wounded than Reagan and later became an activist for gun control. Reagan’s shooter, John Hinckley, spent decades in a mental institution. He was released from court supervision in 2022.

An Idaho man was charged with the attempted assassination of Barack Obama when he fired shots at the White House in 2011.

All presidents face threats and all former presidents also get lifetime Secret Service protection.

Four US presidents who were assassinated were all shot

Abraham Lincoln was the first president to die by assassination. He was shot in the back of the head in 1865 during an appearance at Ford’s Theater in Washington, DC, by John Wilkes Booth, an actor in the play that night and Southern sympathizer. Booth fled the scene and was shot when he was captured weeks later in Virginia.

James Garfield was shot at a train station in Washington, DC, in July 1881. He died from his wounds months later, in September, in New Jersey. Garfield was shot by Charles Guiteau, a disaffected former supporter with mental illness who was angry at not getting a job in Garfield’s administration. Guiteau was convicted and hanged within the year.

William McKinley was shot in September 1901 in Buffalo, New York, by Leon Czolgosz, an anarchist. McKinley was making an appearance at the Pan-American Exposition. He lingered for days in Buffalo before dying from his wounds. Czolgosz was later electrocuted.

John F. Kennedy was killed by a sniper, Lee Harvey Oswald, in Dallas in November 1963 as he was driven down a parade route in an open-topped limousine. Oswald, a Soviet sympathizer, was arrested days after the shooting. Oswald was himself killed by Jack Ruby in the basement of the Dallas police station.

JFK’s brother, Robert F. Kennedy, was a senator from New York when he was running for president in 1968. RFK was shot at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles the night he won the California Democratic primary. His killer, Sirhan Sirhan, is still in jail in California and recently had a parole request denied. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is an independent candidate for president this year.

I had my first "surgery" last Wednesday.  It was a laser treatment for my eyes to reverse the drainage issue that has caused my Glaucoma.  They hit each eye 100 times with a laser.  I did not feel a thing, but I could tell there was a giant lens in my eye magnifying my iris so the doc could exact the target precisely.  I go without my drops to control the pressure next week for a week so see if it worked.  Also they will repeat a field of vision test to see if anything has changed.  Then the next week another check of the pressure.

I am thankful I found a better doctor, whom I trust to do this. I dumped the last one because he was a noncommuicator and, frankly a narcissist   He did not have "time" to answer my questions.  I am thankful for Medicare which covers this completely.  I am hopeful this will work and I can go without drops for the time being.  There is no cure for this.  Only ways to control it.  So far, as far as I can tell and the doc my vision has not been affected.

David,

What hurricanes mean to gulf coast residences, is what  forest fires meant to me…  I remember when we were at my home purchase closing in the mountains  there was the Hayman fire near by and another fire over the ridge from my new little house..

When I hear about fire season starting every year , my heart goes out to all those who live in those areas and what they have to endure , including the Ruidoso fire recently and all the western state’s  fires.

The small bills thing came from my X working for 3 hospitals during the Y2K year and he was an emergency first responder in the mtns.   But the other stuff was from living in the mtns for 11 years.. plus times with no electricity .  I was the community coordinator to help implement our CO county community wildfire plan for 3 HOA’s in the area. I also took 2 others with me to our neighboring county’s animal evacuation plan meeting to learn more about it for own county and animal shelter .

If a fire started the fire and police services could shut off roads from even residences to be able to get to their homes , including not able to rescue their own pets , horses etc.  You had to had grab bags at home to be able to get the hell out quickly, and know in advance what you would want to take with you.

I spoke about this all on this forum before but also always said, if the emergency folks wouldn't allow me to go back to my home to get my dogs and anyone elses in the hood that I could , they would have to shoot me in the back to try to stop me... and I would find a way..

On another note, maybe it is time for us to try to lower even our forum's political tone., after all we are all Americans..  Sometimes we behave and sometimes , we don't .   smiley

Addendum:  I also remember : The South Canyon Fire was a 1994 wildfire that took the lives of 14 wildland firefighters on Storm King Mountain, near Glenwood Springs, Colorado, on July 6, 1994. It is often also referred to as the "Storm King" fire."

Just an outsiders observation on the shooting and note to the next Trump hater with a gun. If you want to kill him you gotta do better than that!

But, really what I gather from it is that if there were any Republicans who didn't care for him and were thinking of voting for a third party candidate, the sentiment I feel would be to rally around ALL Republican candidates now. I think this action AND at this time 2 days before the RNC will cement and polarize the Republicans. So in my opnion the shooter failed miserably

07/14/24 10:57 AM #30246

Jan Alexander

There are haters on both sides and violent words from both sides and even from Trump’s own mouth.… there have been death threats to many democratic leaders and their families right now , as well...  and  off the tip of my head, look at Pelosi’s  husband who was hit in the head with a hammer by a whacko.

I hope all of this will tone down rhetoric from both sides…  and I think that Trump will tone his words as well……at least , I hope.   I hope this will unitfy our nation as a whole..  I think Biden has removed a campaign ad , as well.

I think if the shooter had killed Trump , it would have sent us into a violent horror show..  I am glad he missed....... thank GOD.

A violent path is not the solution.

Oh Oh , here we go again.  My mouth is now shut ................. see ya...

Addendum:  ......and trying to kidnap Gov. G. Whitmer.of Michigan.

PARIS OLYMPICS TURNING TO CRAP

Just a week away before the Olympics, the city of Paris has reduced the air conditioning availability to both attendees and Olympians...due to climate change and drastic need for green solutions.

With one of the hottest summers on record, this Olympics is causing great alarm in France with Parisian's now, boycotting and protesting by taking a dump the river....I shit you not!

The French are inSeine!

Team USA is pledging to bring their own portable air conditioners, to their dormitories!

Things around the world are heating up!

A lot to unpack here. Watched the whole thing unfold.......live!  I hollered to Ellen: " Shots fired! President went down!" I heard her scream....."What?" I was reminded of dramatic events in the past. (Immediately thought of President Reagan) No one knows how/why this happened; and we need to let the investigation run its course.
However, a couple of thoughts: Prayers for the gentleman's family.....who died while throwing himself over members. Secondly my thoughts and prayers are with the other families who have two loved ones critically injured in the local hospital.
And finally, for President Trump and his family. Former First Lady Melania's words today were nothing short of eloquent!  And President Trump's resiliency and toughness are truly remarkable! (his fist pumping with blood running down his face was electrifying; seeing the crowd roar!)

But there are questions: Why did the advance team not catch those glaring vulnerabilities.....with just a few buildings in the areas close to the perimeter? Would have taken just a few more guys! I'm told they were turned down for the request for more agents! The director will need to answer to that!

Or, in the absence of that, were there not drones deployed at the rally? None that I saw!

And, I'll offer this. They were asking aloud how the shooter was able to walk up with a rifle? I say he could easily have hidden it nights before..... near the building!

The only question is how did he borrow a ladder!?

Jan,  glad you have preparations in place. Ellen and I do as well!

Sandra, my thoughts and prayers are with you to get well; glad you switched physicians!
