Welcome to the Richardson High School Message Forum.

The Message Forum is an ongoing dialogue among classmates. The goal is to encourage friendly interaction, including interaction among classmates who really didn't know each other. Experience on the site has revealed that certain topics tend to cause friction and hard feelings, especially politics and religion.

Although politics and religion are not completely off-limits, classmates are asked to be positive in their posts and not to be too repetitive or allow a dialog to degenerate into an argument.

Forums work when people participate - so don't be bashful! Click the "Post Response" button to add your entry to the forum.

Ron,

I agree. All the evil that has been targeted at Trump the last months has backfired and caused his support to grow.

Sandra,

There are good doctors and bad doctors. Glad to hear that your changing was to your benefit.

Also there have been other attempts to kill Presidents, found in the link below. When the guy whose 2 pistols didn't fire on the Capitol steps in 1835, Andrew Jackson proceeded to use his cane (and fists probably) to respond to his failed assassin. I think Jackson, southern Democrat & the enemy of Indians, and Trump are the feistiest Presidents ever.

When was the last assassination attempt on a U.S. president? | wfaa.com

I guess when the guy who threw his shoes at Bush Jr., that doesn't count as an assassination attempt.

Jan,

The "attempt to kidnap" Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer was hatched by the left with some lefty government employees involved and was well exposed on FNC - another Dem hoax like the Jussie Smollett farce of a hoax, all intended to make the right-wingers look bad. As much as you likely hate FNC, that's the only place where you'll get the truth these days.

All,

I think I saw on the replay that Trump not only looked to his right at the critical moment but also then cocked his head to the left a split second before impact so there may have been 2 movements that saved his life.

Change the subject.

About 3 hours ago, the house nexto me had a generator in the garage fire.   10 fire trucks, 20 sherriffs...home pretty much totaled out.

Pretty sure this hispanic family un insured.   Great grandma, grandma and husband, and grandson who is very mentally challenged...

Don't run a generator in a contained area.   If it's outside and catches fire or blows up...no issue.

I can't believe this...

We got a little bit of smoke...and will have a vacant lot for a while...

Jim B.,

Why do you think Trump made those two minor head adjustments just before his ear was struck?

I think he may have had a tweak or two delivered to him by way of an unseen source.  Just a hunch...... We'll never know until we breach the veil to inquire, should we be lucky enough.....

One obvious asset of Trump is definitely tenaciousness, and that is a very worthy asset to have when running for President of the United States, considering the ominous headwinds we seem to be approaching, wouldn't you say?

Jim B.     and sorry to have to get into this again..but

Jim Said The "attempt to kidnap" Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer was hatched by the left with some lefty government employees involved and was well exposed on FNC - another Dem hoax

Nine of the Wolverine Watchmen militia members have been convicted in a state or federal court in connection with the alleged plot to kidnap Gov. Whitmer.

A jury found two of the members -- Daniel Harris and Brandon Caserta -- not guilty of federal conspiracy charges during a trial last year.

Janalu,

It's my understanding that Trump turned his head to the right to view (on a screen or teleprompter?) whatever he was talking about to the crowd. But yes, it was ALL GOD that saved him; evil, in this case the shooter, pulled the trigger on that one bullet that hit Trump at precisely the WRONG time (in his feeble & now dead mind).

Jan,

There was entrapment involved by lefty government employees, from what I heard on FNC. So maybe we're both partially right to an undetermined extent (me for the entrapment, and you for involvement of right-wingers) - I actually didn't pay as much attention to that bizarre episode as I did to the Jussie Smollett hoax, where it was ALL hoax.

Entrapment in play as appeals court looks at plot to kidnap Michigan governor | AP News

But at the Jan. 6 "insurrection" that was NOT an insurrection, there is on video that one lefty government employee (his name & identity are known but I forget who he is) who WAS repeatedly trying to egg the crowd on into breaching the Capitol security & breaking into the building. And then there was the other video evidence showing the not-uniformed-but-dressed-similarly people inside the Capitol who opened the doors and let the WalMart-shopper-like crowd in as they entered PEACEFULLY and CALMLY.

Apparently Shannen Doherty died of cancer also yesterday so at least Trump didn't have the same fate as she and Richard Simmons yesterday.

Jim,

Did you see the captured 'whizzing-by bullet,' that a cameraman was able to catch on film?

The bullet streak has been shown on TV, usually encircled by a red marker's oval shape, for easy noticing by the viewers.  I didn't know a camera's film would record a moving bullet, even though it is not easy to detect.

Trump mentioned that he heard whizzing bullets just before he felt the stinging sensation on his ear.

I immediately had thoughts of JFK's assassination clips shown over and over on TV, and it made me sad to remember that era of pain for the country.  That time period made Texans ashamed of what had happened in our fair city of Dallas.

Have you noticed many of the news organizations are using the phrase "apparent assasination" attempt?  I noticed this in NPR and the Dallas Morning News.  Otherwise it is described as "the shooting" and steers clear of using the word "assasination".  Just feels like they are playing with semantics when the world saw a gunman attempting to kill former President Trump.

Tommy, sorry for you that TRUMP was not killed.  YOU and Sandra and Jan need to reevaluate your opinions BEFORE you post them on this website.  None of your comments, post-event, indicate any sympathy for the victim(s) INVOLVED.  Maybe y'all can get a job (or cameo) on The View next week.  I cannot wait for KJP to spin this event into 'no big deal'.  Spin your BS on your own website - everyone will be better off....

The terms are AP reccomendations.  There ia a robery and the police are looking for the suspected robber not the robber. (Like in Casablanca:  round up all of the usial suspects).  The AP reccomends using rhey/them.  Joe went missing and the police are looking for them.  Kind of rediculus. The press is trying to change our language.

David Cordell

Kurt, when I read the AP story in The Dallas Morning News this morning I noticed the same thing that you did. The article said that it "appeared to be an assassination attempt." Duh! Either that, or the shooter thought Trump's hair needed a trim.

Sandra, it almost seemed like you were saying "Don't make such a big deal out of this" by listing all the other assassinations and attempted assassinations. I hope that isn't what you were thinking.

Trump annoys me when he repeatedly refers to "Crooked Joe" and calls him the worst president in history, although he made the latter comment about Bush, also. Still, that is different than saying Trump is a fascist or a nazi or Hitler or will end Democracy.

Essentially, Republicans argue that Democrats are wrong. Democrats argue that Republicans are evil.

Trump isn't any good at generating unity, but neither is Biden. Biden's dark comments about MAGA Republicans, a continuation of Hillary's comments, are deeply, deeply divisive. I don't think Trump bad mouths rank-and-file Democrats -- just their leaders.

Sandra Spieker (Ringo)

Marty,

Perhaps you did not read my post.  The second paragraph contained this:

I am deeply saddened by all of this.  ALL OF IT.  I see the blame game has begun.  It must be the Democrats fault, or the Republicans, and on and on.  This will go on for weeks and months.    As for me.  I am sick at heart for the people attending that were injured and the one person so far who lost their life while attending a political rally.  Sickening.  There is also nothing, absolutely nothing I can do about this.  My first instinct is to keep quiet about my political feelings and leanings.  This to protect myself from recrimination and possible violence.  That is the saddest part of all.

07/14/24 08:24 PM #30262

Sandra Spieker (Ringo)

David,

I am not nor will I ever make light of the attempted assasination of Trump or any other politician.  Nor will I make light of the fact that innocent people were mained and killed in this attack.  PERIOD.

I will state this again, in case you missed it.  I am sick at heart at this event.  It makes me sad. Very sad.  OK???

My point was, this has happened before.  It is nothing new.  History repeats itself.

07/14/24 08:27 PM #30263

Marty, I would pull you out of a fire or flood without asking you if you were Republican, democrat or independent. We all care about what has happened. Don't read negativity into my post . We all care about what has happened.

Don't let politics destroy your heart . I do understand it is hard to stay composed at times.

As I posted earlier about a Trump hater shootist, I DID NOT make reference to a political party! I did so for a reason. I believe the shooting could have come from origins outside of our country timed for the elections. We will find out later about the details of the assasin's motives perhaps.

BUT, if we look outside the USA for who may want Trump dead, look no farther than Russia and Putin. Since Russia invaded the Ukrain, the West including the USA have imposed sanctions on the oligarchs from Russia and seized their assets. I think that Trump would be a much more imposing threat to Russia than Biden who is obviously failing in health. And what is important about this is that Putin is now believed to be the wealthiset Oligarch of them all!!! My guess is that Trump could lead all the Western powers to try to seize Putin's assets as well and bring an end to the conflict in the Ukrain and also help stabalize the world.

Not trying to diminish some deranged Democrat  for taking a shot at Trump perhaps, but making an observation on a more global scale.

Remember that performance of Julius Caesar in Central Park, NY? It was set in current time and Caesar was clearly dressed and coiffed to resemble Trump. Assassinated.

We have power...yay...

House next door to us burned down 15 hours before power restored from an apparent generator sourced power.

Sad....

Tommy said:

"You mean that people who are trespassing are not actually trespassing if they are calm and peaceful? Just trying to understand your logic here."

Jim replied:

Guess Tommy hasn't seen the footage of the people inside the Capitol allowing the protesters in. That was NOT trespassing. Also what is worse 1) being allowed into the Capitol by government people or 2) being allowed into the country by a lawless federal administration, to the detriment of all? I gave up LONG AGO trying to understand Tommy's (lack of) logic. Maybe in addition to the should-be-impeached Biden, Tommy also needs a cognitive test?

Janalu,

Yes, I did see that streaking-bullet pic - fascinating.

David C,

You said, "Essentially, Republicans argue that Democrats are wrong. Democrats argue that Republicans are evil." I guess you're talking about the politicians.

I think the Dem politicians are mostly evil, not just wrong plus many of the Dem politicians as well as much of the corrupt legacy media are stupid (stupid ones, e.g., being Maxine Waters, the Squad, Morning Joe & Mika, the View), but some Dem pols & some of their corrupt legacy media supporters are NOT stupid. The Dem voters I see as often ignorant (different than stupid) due to their continuing extremely poor choices for information.

I don't see myself as a Republican but rather as a libertarian Constitutionalist almost always voting Republican due to the disgustingly disintegrating devolution of the Democrat party over the past several decades. I have never voted Libertarian since that's a wasted vote that aids the Dems - there are only 2 real choices.

The interesting picture with the streak across it,  The bullet would be super sonic traveling around mach 2.  The shock wave can produce a contrail of moisture if the humidity is just rite.  The contrail is just for a moment then disipates.  My thoughts.

Since we are clearing the air smiley

Ronnie, In my initial post on the assignation ( oops , Don't have my glasses on or teeth in yet ; kidding about teeth. Nor first cup of coffee ) attempt which followed your post I wasn’t really responding to yours.

I had just read the prior page of posts , my thoughts were still lingering on “ hatred toward Trump from left could riled crazy people to this this type of assassination  attempt." , that David said... and on the general topic of haters.

Hence the lead in to my post  , saying "there are haters on both sides..

Should have been more explicit .

Now, we wait in baited breath for the next fall out..  in this election .........  crazy.......everyday there is something new to have our hearts drop a beat..   (OOPs, just happened.)

Ronnie, go have some chicken livers on me. ... Tell them to send me the bill.

Marty , if you want some , you can have some too.. As for David,  he gets gizzards.wink

Ron and I like chicken livers.
