Message Forum

Welcome to the Richardson High School Message Forum.

The Message Forum is an ongoing dialogue among classmates. The goal is to encourage friendly interaction, including interaction among classmates who really didn't know each other. Experience on the site has revealed that certain topics tend to cause friction and hard feelings, especially politics and religion.

Although politics and religion are not completely off-limits, classmates are asked to be positive in their posts and not to be too repetitive or allow a dialog to degenerate into an argument.

Forums work when people participate - so don't be bashful! Click the "Post Response" button to add your entry to the forum.

Don't you think the  separation of Church and State concept adapted by the Founders was more of a reflection of what they had studied or been aware of from the viewpoint of the "Annointed Crowns,"  the Inquisition, and other European religious backed Royaties.

Their design to be religious free government was a naturally occurred choice.   Also, the Colonies were fairly segregated by Quakers, Catholics, Puritans, and there was no one Protestant or Catholic sect which could be trusted to establish order.

It wasn't to allow the Bhuddists, Muslims, Jewish, or other minority religions to have freedom here, but more of a fear from each Protestant/Catholic sect fighting with each other. ts...

Just my thoughts.  I have no substantiation here.

In reality, religious "disorders"  or persecutions still occurred in this country for many years until they figured out what the SCOTUS could do.

Thank goodness sanity is returning to Virginia after so many years!

Congrats to Youngkin for a fabulously managed campaign; a campaign where he did not hold on to Trump coattails!!

Have a look at this, if you will:

amazon.com/books-------Type in   WOKE BABY

Look at the number of reviews and see what they say...........Tells a lot about our current state of affairs.....

Wow!

Since it might interfere with their obsession with solar & wind power in their inane, relentless attempt to end all other energy sources, here's something you're not likely to hear in the corrupt legacy media. Sandia Labs used citric acid, a generally harmless, food grade solvent, as a way to separate rare earth metals from coal ash, waste residue from burning coal.  Coal ash has long been an environmentalist target because nobody had a use for it and there is a lot of it.  Sandia’s new process uses water, CO2 and food grade citric acid.  They have filed for a patent.  Now our waste from burning coal becomes a source for rare earth metals.  Nobody saw this coming.  This is similar to the use of petroleum byproducts for the petrochemical and plastics industries.  And it uses something we can eat as a catalyst.

Lowell,

You said " I have no substantiation here." That is correct.

The founders didn't have this separation of church vs. state as the left reimagines. The first part of the 3rd Amendment states:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof....".

So Washington D.C. can't decree all people have to attend the Church of Scientology, nor can they prevent me from screaming the gospel from my rooftop (after all, following the Dem summer of 2020, there are no public disorder laws applicable anymore).

I had ancestors in the late 1600's in Virginia who were hauled into court for not attending church - THEY HAD TO PAY FINES! THAT is a state-established religion, OK?

There is NO legal justification for NOT displaying the Ten Commandments on public (federal or otherwise) buildings. Or the like. That's not establishing a state religion. Go ask ex-Soviet subjects what the truth is - they had their state-imposed religion of atheistic Bolshevism, not that dissimilar from our American Marxism version that Biden & Co. are currently trying to ram down our throats.

I just LOVE this guy's deep voice, his odd presentation & verbal flourishes/emphases. His bare-bones hobo percussion set is pretty amusing to observe. He plays a pretty good harmonica. And if he has Joel Paterson playing guitar, NICE. They didn't play together in Devil in a Woodpile for a few years but I read they're back playing again as of 2018. I've seen Joel Paterson, originally from Madison, WI, but not the oddball leader Rick "Drinkin'" Sherry, also from Chicago. Next time I'm in Chicago, I'll make a point of seeing Devil in a Woodpile if I can manage to dodge the bullets in getting there.

Tommy,

Let's just say your assertion that because of my upbringing in the Panhandle and at Richardson, my prayer being biased, is correct.  We might also assume that the Saudi Arabians and Middle Eastern Muslims pray with bias, as well.  This being a given the people of India and the people of China and Japan pray in their own biased manner.  Therefore, in the aggregate the prayers are biased to naturally represent humanity by number of adherents.  In the aggregate, the total of humanity is fairly represented.  The only thing that can upset this applecart is a "freethinker" like you that comes along and decides out of his own biases that one group is unfairly represented and he knows best.  Save us, Oh Lord from that liberal tyrant that seeks to change on equity and not equality.

Tommy,

So you with your higher level thinking makes you an atheist. You suggest all of the smartest people are atheists like yourself.  Can you prove your thesis.  I have know some very smart people that were belive and teachers of religion.

Faith comes when you accept God without concrete evidence.

LOVED your marital-discord 2-frame post. I mass-email that kind of stuff out, as I did here - already 3 LOL's returned. PLEASE don't stop!

I echo David. PLEASE boycott this site.

Chief No Stache,

I just wish all these "free-thinkers" in government would quit trying to enslave the rest of us for their benefit!

And don't you just love the 2 overbearing forum bullies' lecturing us on behavior?!?!?!! Really can't make it up.........a true bully pulpit is where they belong - oh, wait, there's another forum that might fit the bull oops bullying oops bill!

From my recent marital experience & the last 2 years of Dem evil on display, I know the truth that my 4th cousin, 4x removed (or 1st cousin, 5x removed) Abe Lincoln stole from the Bible - a house divided against itself CANNOT stand.

Maybe my suggestion that got ZERO response might not be a bad idea after all? Just sayin'.  I don't think it could hurt ANYTHING but 2 bruised bully egos so perhaps it's worth a try? I'm a GO if everybody else is. And I'm certain MANY would celebrate my departure.

Or time-outs? After all, these 2 behave like children often. All I know is that something needs to change. I'm like our beloved Donald, always looking for practical solutions and trying to avoid purely ideological ones, especially like the bad ideas the left always seem to glom onto and then never let go of.

Chief Bedpost

Tommy,

Yes, it would appear that my urging you to perform an unnatural act with yourself was inappropriate, but it sure felt good. On the positive side, at least from your standpoint, it gave you some ammunition to 1) undermine me on this site, and 2) portray yourself as having been wronged. On the positive side for me, I received three private email approvals from unexpected sources.

Fair trade.

You said, "All the best to you 3 knuckleheads!".

Does this mean you're possibly leaving this forum voluntarily? Sincerely I think that would be for the best, including yourself.

WOW! FNC's Peter Doocy asked Biden about the 450K reparations for the illegal aliens, and he said no way in his administration - BIDEN MAY NOT BE AWARE OF THE 450K REPARATIONS FOR ILLEGAL ALIENS that his underlings are working on currently!!! Or he's lying - which is worse?

Did you see the comment Jill Biden made concerning the Brandon exclamation?

She said, "Please stop saying that everywhere, because Joe now thinks his name is Brandon."

If I were advising the DUMB Dems, to have ANY chance in 2022/24, I would tell them:

1) go back & put back in all Trump America First policies

2) forget the squad, Bernie & the other most extreme Marxists like that - promote Joe Manchin as your new candidate - try to replace Kamala with HIM, you dingdongs, as Vice President. Make her resign, then elevate him so in that way, impeachment or Biden's resigning may ensue and who cares on the Dem side? You've still got the power (of the incumbency). Plus the Republicans would want to impeach if Manchin is VP. I bet Biden would resign with little prompting before he got impeached!

3) do whatever else needs to be done to reverse the increasing revelations that a) the Dems really are engaged in a War on America now in their insatiable quest for total(itarian) power, b) they really DON'T CARE about any of us or our futures (and that's not just right-wingers that they don't care about either - DUH!).

In conclusion, to everybody here, SSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't try to spread this around too much! They might START listening!

Apparently the clueless media is still claiming white supremacy/racism with all that happened against them, not just in Virginia, in the election. But the new lieutenant governor in Virginia is a black, female Jamaican immigrant, Winsome Sears (love the COOL given name), and the new attorney general Jason Miyares is the child of parents who fled Marxist Cuba in 1965. Both Republicans like the new governor. Sounds like diversity to me - AS IF THAT MATTERED AT ALL ANYWAY - I like merit & achievement over racist stupidity like that. And their legislature, the Virginia House of Delegates, also flipped to red from blue.

Tommy,

You might be interested to know that one of your former friends who will remain anonymous told me in no uncertain terms that they would no longer post on the RHS Forum until David kicked you off.   The question many of us have is would we rather have your toxic participation or the discourse with a friend.  I know my preferences in that regard, as attending a function where you might be present, presents a challenge for a man of my age.  I do not regret a trip to Seattle to pick up a family member and visit long unseen classmates, but a two hour trip to Austin twists my gut.  I will always be a friend to the Tommy I once knew, but I find I have more and more difficulty relating to the child he grew down to be.
