Welcome to the Richardson High School Message Forum.

The Message Forum is an ongoing dialogue among classmates. The goal is to encourage friendly interaction, including interaction among classmates who really didn't know each other. Experience on the site has revealed that certain topics tend to cause friction and hard feelings, especially politics and religion.

Although politics and religion are not completely off-limits, classmates are asked to be positive in their posts and not to be too repetitive or allow a dialog to degenerate into an argument.

Forums work when people participate - so don't be bashful! Click the "Post Response" button to add your entry to the forum.

Wayne,

I made an astute observation yesterday that might interest you.  I was wearing my Double T dress shirt with a pair of khaki slacks when I realized that most companies like Fanside and Underarmour put Texas Tech logos only on the shirts and not the pants in the XL, 2XL and 3XL sizes.  Why would this be?, I wondered.  Then it dawned on me.  At 71 years of age and my frequent bathroom trips that seem to accompany my aging bladder problems, I get enough tee tee on my pants without the additional reminder of a TT label to help identify such.

Steve, thanks so much for sharing that thought. Now, please advise how I can remove it from my memory banks.

Meanwhile, I have a question of all.

Do you find this aspect of our president's behavior annoying -- when he tries to explain something by leaning forward, displaying a mocking expression, speaking very slowly, and articulating uber-clearly as if to say, "You're a dumb-ass"?

There's something disturbing about seeing bumbling, senile idiot with a double-digit IQ trying to explain something in a condescending way.

Chief Bedpost,

Tommy made the statement: if the human race was eradicated, life would spread and flourish on earth

What a hypocrit.  How long ago was he touting the fact that humans created global warming and climate change so we need to fix it by stopping the use of fossil fuels?  If humans were eradicated then, without undoing the damage, how is life going to flourish? How long ago was he touting his approval of government mandates on vaccinations to save people from dying of Covid-19 and its variants?  If he wants the human race to be eradicated so life can flourish, he should be taking the opposite position.  How long ago did we hear him soaking up the credit for taking care of one human being who might be more likely to perish without his help?  With his statement it would mean he should go ahead and help him meet his demise and then look for the next one to send to the afterlife as quickly as possible.  How long ago did we hear his diatribe on gun ownership because people might be killed en masse by White Supremacists and crazies?  He should be taking the opposite position.  The only position he has taken that backs up the statement he has made is that he wants all Trump supporters executed.  That would take out more than half the people in this country in one fell swoop.  He failed to make the distinction that liberals should be the last ones to be eradicated. However, they are next.

I don't see a lot of difference in his postion than Adolph Hitler, Charles Manson or Pol Pot.  He may be worse in that he wants everybody dead so insects like ants can form armies and attack other species.  Maybe he will reconsider and go for an entirely scorched earth policy, so the Earth looks like the Moon.

Sandra:

Those 13958 photos must have been taken before Pete Peabody purchased the home.  He has improved the landscaping.  That must be why he wanted access to my dad's plans.  One thing Pete didn't restore is a pool that ran just outside the front door.  The walk led up to a bridge over the pool for entry into the house.  Pete hasn't restored that feature.

Steve,

Are you about to leave soon on your African safari?

Hope your trip is super wonderful for you!

Send us pics if possible!    We surely enjoyed seeing you on that camel a while back!

Chief Toenails,

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can you return that spell-checker you borrowed from Wayne? You're embarrassing us SO MUCH that they're going to think we're a bunch of firewater-addicted, irreversibly foolish subhumans!!

Chief Bedpost

P.S. After having viewed Wayne's next post, if you return it, you may want to suggest to Wayne that he get ANOTHER spell-checker to replace the one he leased, you know, the one he rented to replace the one he let you borrow!!

P.P.S. Aw, shoot! Now Wayne has corrected his "teh" to "the"!!! RATS!!!!

Chief Toenails,

Which reminds me of Twain's view of the French. He must have run into some really OBNOXIOUS Parisian shopkeepers like I did once but here's what he had to say, and I can repeat all this since I'm an eighth Cajun & about 14% French overall (only blacks can say the N-word, right?). Also I'm thinking Paris & the rest of France, although my experience is limited, could be sorta like New York & the rest of the US - you may not get a good idea of Americans if you only are in New York City when here. So here goes:

France is miserable because it is filled with Frenchmen and Frenchmen are miserable because they live in France.

There is nothing lower than the human race except the French.

Somewhere between the angels and the French lies the rest of humanity.

Joe is a liar. So is Kamala. So is Nancy. So is Chuck. So are they all.

In Marseille they make half the toilet soap we consume in America, but the Marseillaise only have a vague theoretical idea of its use, which they have obtained from books of travel.

Sandra,

I don't know why I did not know you or Cathy in HS.  I lived on Alpha Rd in the 3rd house east of Preston. I threw the Dallas Morning News in the neighborhood but for some reason I didn't know most of the kids in the neighborhood. Most of the time my older brother or I drove to HS in our car instead of riding the bus.

Now the Pentagon is confirming the bungled drone killing of 10 Afghani people this past week, 7 children. They thought it was ISIS-K, relying on no intel since that's how they left the country so completely in disgrace.

My first thought was my CHRONIC thought about Joe - he can NOT think properly EVER and he CANNOT make a proper decision EVER EITHER. Just like whenever I see some young 20-year-old's death in the Anchorage, AK obits or any obits, I think "I wonder if Fentanyl was involved?", that's my thought whenever I observe ANY results of Joe's actions.

Also on FNC (where else?) they're saying over the 20 years in Afghanistan, we ruled the night due to our WAY superior night-vision technology. Now with our taxpayer funded militarization (similar to our domestic militarization of State, Justice, FBI, ad nauseum), of the Taliban, they will be our equal from now on to Armaggedon. More blood on Joe's hands - there will be A LOT more.

Finally now the FAA is similarly being Marxist militarized - they're saying FNC's drones won't be allowed to film the 10,000+ (85% Haitian) illegal aliens now under the underpass in Del Rio, Texas, currently awaiting resettlement into your neighborhoods since the "system" is SO CLOGGED up right now - WE NEED MORE BORDER CONTROL TO AID THE DEMS IN TAKING TOTAL CONTROL FOREVER - YEE HAW!!

I like what OUTSTANDING Louisiana Senator John Kennedy (our age; interesting name) said today:

Trusting the Biden Administration with the border is like trusting Harvey Weinstein with your daughter.

hahahahahahaw - that guy is BRILLIANT!! He's always coming up with all kinds of witty stuff and wordplay, etc.

And yet there are people that are TODAY still listening to Don Lemon, the View, Stelter, the Morning Joke, Chris Cuomo, Rachel Maddow, etc. GO FIGURE!!! Well, Marxist is as Marxist does. Pretty simple.

David C,

You asked the question of us so I'm answering.

You especially committed honesty in "double-digit IQ"; how dare you. Although, maybe one-digit could be a possibility for the future, if it isn't accurate already!

Despite all the TRUE statements about the Abandoner in Chief Joe the Evil, I went back and reread your post, and you didn't mention ONCE the TOTAL MORAL failings of the fool. But of course you are forgiven of that. Other than that, GREAT POST!!

Wow! Even CNN notices the border crisis.

Link below. Del Rio under the international bridge. 10,000 illegal immigrants. More on the way. High percentage apparently from Haiti, which has a 1% COVID vaccination rate. Of course, the CNN journalistic angle is inhuman conditions rather the fact that our president is violating the oath of office by laying open our borders.

Question: Has Vice President Harris solved those "underlying causes" of illegal immigration yet? Maybe she can stop the hurricanes and reform the corrupt socialist governments. Good luck with that.

https://www.cnn.com/2021/09/17/us/texas-del-rio-migrants-bridge/index.html

More news. Looks like the Taliban is negotiating with China over Bagram Air Base. Wouldn't that just be a kick in the ass. We spend megabucks on an air base, and it ends up in the hands of the Chinese. Hope this isn't true, but not sure it is much worse than the Taliban having it.

You too. I'm getting more than a little tired of your committing honesty, especially this latest about the MOTHER OF ALL SUPER-SPREADER EVENTS AT THE BORDER TOTALLY OUT OF CONTROL.

David,

It looks like DHS will deport the Haitians at the border via plane to Haiti, even though there is a humanitarin crisis there due to a coup and an earthquake that killed 2,000 people and left many homeless.  Link here

The borders are not open.  They are overwhelmed.  These people are desparate.  Ideas to solve the problem?  Closing the border is a bandaid, not a solution.    Mexico is just deporting them to the south in even worse condtions.  It is extreme hunger, squalid living conditions, and cartel violence that drives these folks to walk thousands of miles through jungle condtions to come here.  I know it is easy to blame the current administration for the "wrong message" of open borders (show me the speech or the message please), but just closing the door or the border and ignoring the real issue, will not solve the problem.  When they all die of disease, hunger, or violence, that might solve it.

And now for something really important!   The World Tallest Nation is getting shorter!!

The Netherlands has long been the world's tallest nation -- but its people are getting shorter, according to Dutch researchers.

I can attest to this!  My nephews are all over 6' tall.  The tallest is around 6'-7".

Sandra said: "I know it is easy to blame the current administration for the "wrong message" of open borders (show me the speech or the message please),"

David responds:

Hmmm. Imagine a young man and a young woman are on a date.  The romantic action starts getting hot and heavy. As it progresses, the young woman really doesn't want it to continue, but it does continue, without her objection.

We all know that no means no, but silence means consent. Inaction is action.

Eventually, the young woman, like Biden's America, gets screwed.

(And pu-leeze don't go on a rant about the sexism you might infer from my response.)

By the way, what about ending the "remain in Mexico" policy and stopping construction on the wall? There's a lot more, but I'll not go down a rabbit hole.

I applaud your concern about the poor in other countries, but what about the poor in this country? What about the people along the border who are scared to death. Even Democrat politicians along the border are upset with Biden.

We went to Cool Thursdays at the Arboretum this week. The performers bill themselves as The Jersey Tenors, and they are a cover group, mostly for the Four Seasons, but also for the Beach Boys, Springsteen, and others. They really play up the Joisey shtick, speaking like rejects from the Sopranos. I was surprised by this encore.

David,

Your analogy is quite interesting indeed.  I did not take offense.  Ok, so the complete and total solution is a high brick wall (or whatever - hang the cost and the poor over here who will be ignored because we spent the money on the wall instead of them) and a speech and strong message from Biden to stop.  So that will solve the issue and magically the cartel will stop, the poverty will stop, the earthquakes and hurricanes will stop, and all those who sought our message of the huddled masses will huddle somewhere else.  I did not realize it was that simple.

I'll simply ask, would you rather have Donald Trump in total irrevocable charge of all your personal affairs or would you prefer Joe Biden (or any R vs. D)? For that matter, which would you choose to sweep your driveway or take out the garbage? Since one of those 2 Presidents has NEVER done ANYTHING right, I know which one I'd choose.

And the ONLY reason the Haitians will be returned is because of all this visibility. I still don't think the border fiasco can continue until November, 2022, even with all the competing distractions of the other current ongoing Dem SSSSScandalSSSSS (like a snake) & mismanagement. Even the BRAIN-DEAD DEM PARTY (remember, PRESIDENT ROAD KILL was their nominee) has got to realize that eventually in my mind.

AIN'T LIFE IN THE U.S. GRAND THESE MARVELOUS DEM-LED DAYS?!?!?!?!?! GO, GAVIN NEWSOM!!! KEEP DIGGING THAT DITCH WE NOW CALL THE GRAND CANYON OF CALIFORNIA!!! YEE HAW!!!!

I am not obsessed with the illegal immigration.   It's the natural order or human capitalism...flowing persecuted poor to free societies.  I think it's quite a bit overblown..

On plastics   Today I spoke again with that (former, not in a smaller company) plastics engineer and mentioned our forum discussion of plastics.

He pointed out the biggest plastics polution which is both on gasoline and electric vehicles...Tires and their never ending break apart and breakdown.   Rains and sunshine wash all that poly into the creeks, rivers, bayous, bays and oceans... But, we gotta have our private single transportation....

The money for the wall/barrier was appropriated by Congress long ago, and "the poor will always be among us, "as the Bible teaches us."

The problem is the socialistic or Communistic governments who usurp the monies from their people for THEIR OWN GREED, and their people, not allowed to defend themselves, since they have no weapons (a condition forced upon them by their governments) are left with 'mass protest methods' to use, and at such times as they choose to act out, end up gunned-down by their evil and greedy autocrats.   We saw what happened to the Hong Kong people waving United States flags to say, "We want to have freedom like America has," yet they too were gunned-down or captured, placed in prison for probably years and years.  Therefore, we have evidence of what happens in autocratic or Communistic countries when the people have no way to defend themselves, and are forced to live having their every condition of life "be" as their governments force them to be/have.  No choices for them, just "do as we tell you to do."

We have given money to our southern countries for years, but because we don't send along with that money the administrators to "see to it" the paths of that money, along with teachers and construction contractors who will use the money as it is intended to be used, i.e., FOR THE PEOPLE, we are wasting our money and are just "making ourselves feel good" to be able to say "WE DID SOMETHING" for those people south of us," knowing full well that the monies went to all the wrong places, and was wasted.

As for the cartels who roam the areas south of us, they are the products of corrupt governments,  There are also many government "officials," who are in cahoots with cartel outlaws, getting kick-backs from the cartels, or in other words, the evil guys are all robbing the peoples to benefit themselves.  We can see what is KNOWN BY ALL, as we have plenty of documentary TV programs pointing out the mass corruption that rules everywhere south of our border.

Also, there are so many poor people of the world, our United States can't possibly allow them all to come here to become OUR PEOPLE, so we HAVE to go to their areas and TEACH them what we have learned, to help them 'pick up the pieces of their shattered countries,'  beginning anew with ideas we have gathered, along with education toward improving their lives.  It is a humongous undertaking, and will require humongous amounts of money accompanied by guidance and patience that THEIR CURRENT LEADERS don't desire at all.  Those foul governments need to be overthrown, but will that ever happen?

Looks doubtful to me.  Will any of these solutions ever happen?

What do you think?

In addition, that slogan on the base of our Lady Liberty, was never the all-encompassing idea of our country's purpose.  We are not the "go to" place for the poor and needy.   Our country was founded on undeveloped land, that our settlers came to, in order to establish freedom of religion and freedom of new ideas, and those founders forged a totally new country, by way of their own blood, sweat, and tears, and determination to establish a different country, unlike the countries they had left.   Are we a compassionate country, ready to give compassionately to refugees?  Yes we are, but that doesn't mean we are the world's battered peoples' shelter.  We are the world's example of how to develop a nation with freedom's goals, and we can show others how to do the same, if they have determination and desire.  We can help them, but they have to do the majority of the developing themselves.

That slogan at the base of the Statue of Liberty, was placed there, years after the Statue was forged.  The Statue is a statue of freedom and liberty, not a statue of poor, huddled masses waiting to be taken care of as helpless indigents, longing for pity and charity.

We offer freedom to those who will adopt our ideas and customs, desiring to become Americans, dedicated to the ideas and goals that are engrained in our hearts and minds.  We don't long for people of other nations who want to come here and rob us of our prosperity, with the idea of re-establishing their former national ideas here instead of there; those places where their nations began.  Our nation is a nation forged with unique ideas and different goals, and our citizens enjoy that which we have developed here, wanting to preserve it all for our children, but offering the same to anyone willing to adopt our love of nation, working to preserve it along with us.

Our Bible tells us "not to just give a man a fish to feed himself for one day, but TEACH HIM TO FISH, so that he can feed himself from now on."

Lowell,

So capitalism is "flowing" the people to our shores? It's capitalism's fault? Well, actually, yes, capitalism is the cause - ANY SANE PERSON WANTS THAT OVER WHAT THE ILLEGALS KNOW PERSONALLY, PERHAPS EVEN THE PATH WE'RE CURRENTLY HEADED DOWN! Wake up, sir, unless I'm misreading your first paragraph - I didn't know if you meant to say "or" or "of".

But I will go back to the first rule of politics and that's to ignore the first rule of economics, which is SCARCITY, SCARCITY, SCARCITY, something Dems like Schumer, Pelosi & HilLIARy know but hope Dems like YOU never know. There is NEVER enough of ANYTHING to satisfy human demand. PERIOD. But capitalism, far better than any other man-made system ever, has provably done the best job of having all the scant things distributed the best and to the most people for the most benefit, albeit NEVER perfectly (this is man we're talking about here).

But yeah, I actually prefer subways & trains for my transportation. I do love that about NYC, London, Paris. I'm so sorry that from my limited knowledge, they tore out all the mass transportation, tracks, etc. in southern California to replace them with roads. That's a shame, even though I'll leave it to the experts on here to explain why we still need gas/oil for the railroads/subways, which I have ZERO problem with (or any energy source done wisely).
