I feel I am fully awake and always learning more.

I think to "get better," we need to be fully aware of the enemy and the enemy's goal.  That is basically what I was saying in my last post.  I wrote it to try to say that the enemy is consuming us, incrementally, while we so often allow ourselves to dither in activities that occupy our attention, not wanting to have to face the frightening enemy's presence.  We like to think that our safety net of federal and state "protectors" will "take care of" the encroaching badness.  We are fooling ourselves childishly, I think.

Yes, it's true that our fate is known to God, but God is still hoping that we will seek His guidance to gain help for ourselves.  That is the way I see it.  I suppose I write here to encourage all to seek His guidance immediately, with the assumption that we're not totally lost yet.  My effort is basically for our children and grandchildren's lives.

Do you see it differently?

By the way, if you have something you wish to say to me, please just be direct.  I can take it.  Telling me your thoughts and opinions don't need to be "dressed up and softened" in cleverness.

Sure enough, in the grocery yesterday, some citizen reminded me I needed a mask. I told him that I was a lawbreaker. He said, "I can see that". Nobody else said a word to me, including SEVERAL employees. YEE HAW!!!

Next time, my response will be "I'm an illegal alien so I don't have to obey any laws". That's a better reply. HEY, you can self-identify your sex, so I'm doing the same to my legal status - besides there is no such thing as "legal status" anymore here; don't forget the increasing revolving doors of our jails/prisons - the DUMB DEMS don't want any of those anymore, I guess, while we get rid of all our police, border control, coast guard - hey, why stop there? Why do we need a military? After all, we really don't, if the Dems get their wish and no Republican can ever be elected to any office anywhere again. Maybe if we get rid of all those uniforms, China can just move in here without doing any destruction? I'm sure they would never feel the need for any prisons or such so they surely wouldn't reimplement any of that (I'm trying to "think" like a Dem here).

I never was a "The Who" fan. Never had any of their music or any desire to see them. Yes, they had some good songs. I just couldn't get past the excess of theatricality & the paucity of great guitar work on the part of Pete Townshend. Just an unremarkable pop group in my view. I don't care how great the rhythm section of Entwistle & Moon were, according to critics.

I also never understood the attraction of Billie Holliday. Her voice, unlike those of John Lennon or Don Henley, who do have different, very appealing voices, does NOTHING for me. I also don't like her delivery style at all. Don't get it. Ella Fitzgerald or Lena Horne - yes. Whitney Houston before the coke/drug effects on her gift: WOW!

Another group I LOVE from our era was Spirit. That genre-defying group was OUTSTANDING!!! I love their 1st 4 albums, especially the debut. Never saw them. Oh well........

I was a huge Spirit fan also. They played 2 performances (Matinee and Night) at the Dallas Music Hall, (where I coincidentally worked as an usher and got to see Jimi Hendrix).

We got tickets to the matinee because when we tried, that's all that were left. There were so few of us in the place, at one time, Spirit said, something like, "why don't you guys just come up here with us". So, we did - we actually sat on stage, watching them - until the fire marshall put a stop to it. But that was rather memorable,  in my opinion.

As far as the Who goes - I bought several albums but I really only liked two or three songs at most on each album - I really like Magic Bus and all the CSI theme songs. But my favorite Who song was "Love Reign Over Me". That was the one song on the entire double album, Quadrophenia that I liked. They played at the first concert I ever saw and my wife and I saw them at Memorial auditorium where 2/3 of the stage was filled with huge speakers stacked about 15-20 feet high, from what I remember and I saw a kid sitting in one of the horns while they played. I wonder how his hearing is today, if he's still around.

Yes, listening to Creedence (I still like them though) and then Spirit, is like listening to "She Loves You" followed by the White Album, OR watching the current pre-K level of Marxist governance versus the Donald's wise, pragmatic peer-acclaimed-doctoral-thesis-of-a-government. They had a great guitarist (Randy's apprenticeship with Jimi (also named after James Mulvihill) when he was 15 in New York shows but he's a noteworthy guitarist on his own too), the excellent keyboardist/philosopher John Locke, great voice by Jay Ferguson (& others - LOVE the vocals, including background, on many songs), and my approach is who cares about the rhythm section, which included Randy's step-father drummer, head-shaven-bald Ed Cassidy.

The monoclonal antibodies are made from cloned white blood cells.  Remdesiver is only prescribed (unless you are well connected) after you are hospitalized.  Both are drugs only recently approved for Covid.  Steroids are also prescribed to treat Covid.  All of these drugs have side affects, ie, fever nausea etc.  it seems the cure is worse than the prevention!

There's no reason I know of not to get a DTP every 10 years. From the TV commercials, I learned you can get pertussis (whooping cough - the "P" in DTP) & give it to your infant grandchild and cause, worst case, his/her death. Plus I can't imagine why anybody wouldn't want to get a tetanus booster (the "T" in DTP) every 10 years, unless you can't for some medical reason. Thank God for the polio vaccines!

Just so you know, Royce and I exchanged many private emails over the years, and we've known each other well from RHS, through UT, and into more mature years.  He has been a guest in my home on multiple occasions. Royce was a friend --  a bright guy who was very effective at expressing his socio-political views, even though most of them were wrong. When his mother passed away, I drove to his home and spent two hours with him.  Royce has shared with me many of the experiences that shaped his life -- experiences that he didn't share with many people.

If Royce's spirit is following this Forum, I feel certain that he chuckled with appreciation for the fact that I referenced him and for the way I referenced him.
