Jan,
You sure did! You did what no one else had the courage to do. You didn't acronymize a lovely expression, you spelled out the whole word! Bravo my friend!
We may not have been RHS Homecoming Queen. Or "Miss RHS." "Best Personality." Or "RHS Most Beautiful," but damn, Gina! Look at you now! Hands down you deserve the title of "RHS Best Badass" of all time. Congratulations!
I hope you might agree not all our classmates have been so lucky. It appears some are stuck in the dark ages. We simply cannot leave them there. We're Eagles! Therefore it's encumbent upon us to help in any way we can. So with no further ado:
Attention classmates: You may find the following terms helpful when speaking to younger people. A little tip: do not use to sound cool or impress. Anyone under the age of say, 40 will figure out you’re just a dumbcluck trying out new words.
“damn Gina!” Means this is SO good! or SO exciting! (“ex: damn Gina! You made this banana bread without a recipe!?)
"badass" means way cooler than you. Seriously formidable. (ex: she's so badass she's not afraid of fire. She IS the fire."
"tea" means gossip. (ex: don't tell me she's dropping tea again? or C'mon tell me what's going on. I need tea.)
"fit" means outfit. Clothing. (ex: Love that fit! Where'd you find it?)
"Gucci" means good. Okay. (ex: Lunch at 12 Monday? Six Vine's Gucci with you?" )
"fleek" means near perfection. Spot on. (ex: I am soooo jealous! You look so fleek! ")
"lit" means loaded. As in drunk and/or high. (ex: man, she was lit!" or Was Henry lit or what?
"fire" (not to be confused with above example) means un-buh-lievably good. Awesome. (ex: Netflix The Undoing is totally fire. You've gotta see it.")
"TD" means to die for. (ex: "what do you think of these shoes?" "Totally TD. Buy 'em.")
Okay, that's enough for one session. Remember to practice. Remember you don't want to sound like a dumbcluck trying to fit it.
