Message Forum

Welcome to the Richardson High School Message Forum.

The Message Forum is an ongoing dialogue among classmates. The goal is to encourage friendly interaction, including interaction among classmates who really didn't know each other. Experience on the site has revealed that certain topics tend to cause friction and hard feelings, especially politics and religion.

Although politics and religion are not completely off-limits, classmates are asked to be positive in their posts and not to be too repetitive or allow a dialog to degenerate into an argument.

Forums work when people participate - so don't be bashful! Click the "Post Response" button to add your entry to the forum.

Steve Winwood is fabulous!  Cute too!

Lance,

Charles and I took the kids on the Fantasy in 1991 and had a great time.

Hard to believe that it is now being scrapped!

Lance and Janalu,

We were scheduled to depart on a Royal Caribbean cruise to Alaska in two weeks aboard the Ovation of the Seas. Obviously, we have rebooked until next September. Cruising is a wonderful getaway, I will be glad to return to our Cruising trips when it is really safe for all.

I hope all of my RHS classmates may be able to stay safe and property damage free from the Hurricane(s).

Take care!

Lance, I wonder what it costs to sail one of those ships for one mile!

Mike, tell us about your recovery.

I'm watching the RNC on C-Span. Some very good speeches.

David, The shoulder replacement therapy is going very well. I saw the Head Nurse yesterday. All the x-rays and visual examination look good. The exercises are progressive and the last two I really have to push through some moderate pain to make sure the joint regains flexibility. I will be assigned some new exercises Friday when I see the PT people again. I am all about doing these exercises properly. I have seen some people not take rehab seriously and their joints don't work well.

On another note, I hope all of y'all stay safe and healthy in Texas.

Thanks for checking in.

Glad to read the good news, Mike.

Meanwhile, Lance, a non-osting reader pointed me to and answer to my question.

https://cruises.lovetoknow.com/wiki/How_Much_Fuel_Does_a_Cruise_Ship_Use

Cruise Ship Fuel Usage

Size is key to fuel consumption and efficiency. A smaller ship will use less fuel than a large ship to travel the same distance. Both size and the average speed a cruise ship travels impact how much fuel it uses. On average, a large cruise ship can use up to 250 tons of fuel per day, which is around 80,000 gallons. Cruise1st.co.uk claims a normal cruise ship can use around 140 to 150 tons of fuel each day, consuming 30 to 50 gallons per mile travelled.

Actually, I am surprised it is that little. I had a '58 Buick Roadmaster that used almost that much.

Wayne,

Sounds like the survey folks are sticking it to you.

David,

I have an idea for fostering cooperation among the Conservatives and Liberals.  The conservatives, to do our fair share should treat the poor liberals to a cruise beginning around the fifteenth of October for two weeks.  I will pay my part for the charter.  They can party for two weeks and then get back in time for the election.  However, we will let Byrd and Fauci decide if there are any Covid 19 cases on the ship and whether they can get off or quarantine themselves for 14 additional days.  Postmen will not be allowed on the ship as it might endanger the postmen's lives and we would be faced with postal union problems.

I read Tommy's response on his sight and apparently he feels a drug induced non-reality to be the same as reality or it might result in  a better sence of reality.

Lance,

Though I appreciate your confidence, let me use this opportunity to let you know that I now have a 43 year old blonde girlfriend.  Though being the face forward on so many activities is tempting, I think I will prefer to spend the majority of my time in my room at least on the first cruise.  I want you to know this could be my last rodeo.

Lance: I think you should include Susie Shannon Rudd in the sweet shoppe as she makes the best blueberry pie on the planet. I also have an ice box cherry pie recipe that my mom whipped up for a blue ribbon win at the State Fair.

Lance,

I have one more suggestion for you on your staffing.  Please locate the Rehabilitation Clinic for Broken Bones and Blown Out Joints and Tendons in close proximity to the Sea Hag Lounge.  I think it might get the best attendance there.

Does anyone besides me think that Speaker Pelosi is a little too full of herself with her decision that Trump is not elitist enough nor worthy enough (he's only President of the US, dontcha know) to be able to debate Biden?

She continues to tell everyone she meets that Trump is illegitimate, therefore no one needs to even speak to him or condescend to his requests for discussions, so I'm figuring that she thinks all of us Republicans and conservatives are equally undeserving of respect as well, since we are the ones who put him in office.

I remember when one Republican shouted out at a State of The Union address one year, she and her obedient followers were incensed that a lowly Congressman had the audacity to do such a thing to Obama, the Annointed One!  And she went on about it saying that the incident happened because those back-alley Republicans were racists, showing no respect for a Black man; our President!

Is there any chance that she will NOT be re-elected for another term?

She also is very snitty to AG Barr who has an excellent reputation in DC, but according to her, he is disgusting. (He's also a devout Catholic, as she claims she is also, but still she declares, "He's disgusting!")

And then there is Chris Cuomo who thinks that Trump should be 'fact-checked' if there are debates, but Biden doesn't need to be 'fact-checked,' since he doesn't lie as much as Trump.  How does Cuomo know the amount of times Biden lies, unless he is with Biden constantly?  I know of quite a few WHOPPER lies Biden has told in just the last few years or so, that many US citizens are in the dark about.  Those lies have been swept under the proverbial rug, along with the lies about the accomplices working with Biden at the time.

Should I inform Cuomo?

Na-a-a!  I'm just a disgusting, commoner; a back-alley Republican, with little education.

Steve .......... could you please message me a video of your 43 year old blond girlfriend...... I'd like to see if she moves

Hull -

I share your scepticism.  Please be sure Steve's photos or videos are time stamped for authentication.  Do you know anyone that can look for evicence of splicing or other techniques meant to falsify reality?  I think I smell a rat.

Okay......different note. I've always loved "The Eagles" (R.I.P. Glenn Frye) However they had an acrimonious

relationship over the years. So when they took their so-called "14 year vacation" and re-united for their "Hell Freezes Over" concert and album......things began looking up!

But, during those fourteen years.......they all took off and began doing their own thing. I happen to think Don (Henley) came out the best!

Here's a song Ellen loves as well as my sister-in-law!

Let's see

  • Donald Trump - 74
    • Melania Trump - 50
    • Age difference - 24
  • Steve Keene - 69
    • Steve Keene's imaginary girlfriend - 43
    • Age difference - 26

Hey, Steve, you beat Trump's performance.

By the way, has anyone else noticed that Melania Trump is a pretty decent looking woman? I read a few ridiculous criticisms of her, from her accent to the color she wore on Wednesday. Hmmm. Mysogyny? Xenophobia?

Speaking of "xen...," I never watched Xena, Warrior Princess, but her portrayer, Lucy Lawless, is in a series we like called My Life is Murder that is accessible on Acorn TV.

Back to the convention, how tall is Barron Trump? He was taller than his 5'11" mother who was wearing 36" heels. He seems to be a couple of inches taller than his father.

I watched most of the Republican convention on C-Span. It was nice not to have the commercials, talk-overs, and editing-by-ignoring of the major TV sources, even FoxNews. It is fun to be able to form your own opinion without having someone tell you what to think.

Unrelated -- Bad news: I seem to be getting grey hair at an increasing pace. Good news: it seems to have enough curl to make my hair seem thicker. (No vanity here!)

Separately, here is a song that I like very much, including the lead-in guitar riff and the beat.

Is'nt is amazing how liberal Bette Midler calls out "Get that illegal alien off the stage!" and "Oh, God. She still can't speak English." .  There is a yard sign in my neeighborhood that reads "No-one is illegal".  Is it the liberal dems that want open borders?

Lance,

I learned when I was 5 how to take a shot.

1: Have your mother bribe you with  a dime if you take it

2: Look away from the shot.  Might even close your eyes
