Welcome to the Richardson High School Message Forum.
The Message Forum is an ongoing dialogue among classmates. The goal is to encourage friendly interaction, including interaction among classmates who really didn't know each other. Experience on the site has revealed that certain topics tend to cause friction and hard feelings, especially politics and religion.
Although politics and religion are not completely off-limits, classmates are asked to be positive in their posts and not to be too repetitive or allow a dialog to degenerate into an argument.
Forums work when people participate - so don't be bashful! Click the "Post Response" button to add your entry to the forum.
I think you are correct to imply that Charlie was able to connect well with the youth in our country, as well as other countries. He was able to engage them with the kind of language and current lingo references they were accustomed to using themselves, many times with humor inserted as well. He could joust with them in a gentle way, capable of listening to their opposite viewpoints without belittling them, or insulting them. I think most of them could see in him his true desire to help them find out about how Christianity might actually improve their lives, even as they tried to insist they had no desire to be Christian. He could make them realize the pros and cons of what had been going on in their lives, that could go in different, improved ways, if only they would give it all some genuine thought. He truly encouraged them to think deeply. He wanted so much for them to have the serenity and enveloping love in their lives, that they could tell he had in his.
I listened to him debate abortion with a young female student, who was SO INSISTENT that abortion was an issue she would never consider giving up at any time in her life. Every point she vehemently held as an absolute need for all women, he offered a gentler consideration; a way of seeing a better, healthier choice. She fought him tooth and nail for ten minutes or so, but in the end, she admitted that she would give all of his discussion points sincere thought. She left the microphone with a smile on her face, whereas when she had approached the mic, she was scowling, huffy, and snippy-ish, teling Charlie he had better get ready for a knockdown, dragout two-step with her.
I noticed yesterday and today, that quite a few leftists never said anything about Kirk's religious qualities, as they only wanted to knock him for his conservative values concening LGBTQ stances, and his attitude of transgendering philosophies, being "too uptight, and too judgmental." They believed that a person should be able to have whatever is 'in their minds' come true for each and every one of them, no matter what anyone else might think. These leftists were absolutely incensed that Kirk told of 'religiosity nonsense', as they were inclined to refer to his childishly cornball values, or to his mention of mental instability occurrences abounding in our society these days. These Lefties feel they are perfectly healthy and well-balanced, not wanting any outside judgments from anyone at all.
For those in the Richardson area. Tomorrow Tuesday Sep 16 First United Methodist Church Richardson will be showing the new film about Dietrick "Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Spy, Assassin". Free at 1:30 at the church on Central South of Arapaho. Free popcorn and water. Bonhoeffer was an theologian opposed to Hitler.
OK, "maybe" the murder of Charlie Kirk wasn't a "Liberal or Political motivated crime".....prove me wrong! I believe it was also an issue with the guy's "gender" issues. He knew how Charlie Kirk believed about genders...only (2) - man or woman. Plus, his beliefs in God, his trust in Jesus & love of Family.
The shooters' entire family was "Conservative"...but they said the 22 year old shooter had become very political over the past few years. His Roomate was transitioning from male to female (Trans)...& we all know there have been a string of "trans killers".....these people are "mental cases". It has been stated that the 22 year old suspect has stated he hated Charlie Kirk. And the FBI has found an e-mail written by the suspect to a friend that he felt he had an opportunity to take out "Charlie Kirk"...and that he was going to do it. The FBI is still investigating...including looking more closely at the guy's roomate. The FBI is also investigating to find out if there was a "deep state" - well, alternative SEX group that had ties to Charlie Kirk's murder...because right after the murder, they deleted their "X" account.
Yes, I know, there are murderers from both political parties.....but IMO, there's no question that this guy was anti-Trump and he knew that Charlie Kirk helped Trump get elected by getting millions of young people to vote for President Trump.
Interesting that in UTAH.....they have the "Death Penalty"...and they only use "A Firing Squad".
I also find it interesting that Hollywood has been VERY silent about Charlie Kirk's murder. And Hollywood as well as Democrats keep advocating for "gun control"....yet, there are "so many" Hollywood movies that are nothing but "blood baths"...with literally hundreds of people being shot & killed. Hollywood needs to STOP creating those "violent movies" - we don't want to watch them.
This whole think makes me SICK. It seems like we're turning back to the 1960's....when Martin Luther King, JFK, Bobby Kennedy & John Lennon were assisinated. I personally don't see HOW anyone, including President Trump can unite America...because there's no getting through to the "Liberals" here in America...they refuse to listen to "reason" & they have no "positive alternative policies" to make America better. All they want is power & money, period.
Charlie Kirk's movement will go on and get larger than anyone can imagine. And I feel that because of his murder...the GOP will sweep the mid-term elections as well as the 2028 Presidential Election.
God Bless you Charlie.....Thank You for all you have accomplished in your 31 short years.
Most people agree that Trump is often, shall we say, intemperate. Calling people stupid or incompetent is decidedly unhelpful in maintaining good feelings! He is a brutish bigmouth. (I guess saying that makes me a hypocrite!) Oh, how I wish he would learn not to make incindiary and insulting public comments about people. Sadly, it ain't gonna happen.
That said, some people allow themselves to get whipped into a frenzy about anything Trumpian. He's a nazi! He's a fascist! He's trying to be a dictator!
Balderdash! He is a powerful, forceful, determined man who has a vision for American exceptionalism and who cares about the well-being of Americans. He is strong enough to shed the hatred of millions and forge ahead with that vision.
I don't think anyone has sacrificed as much as he has, personally and financially, to go into public service.
Intemperate is right on! He needed to learn self-control and counting to ten (or twenty, in his case) before speaking, when he was in the fourth grade. His parents sent him to military school to try to change his behavior, but they didn't send him soon enough, I guess.
Maybe he should wear a shock collar to zap his neck and tongue, as in an ice cold slurp of water hitting a very sensitive tooth. Ouch! Dadgummit!
It looks like my excellent suggestion about Trump's using federal resouces to fight crime in selected cities (posted here on September 3) has made its way to the White House!!
Here's a re-run.
If I were Trump, I would skip Chicago. I'd try Memphis. Republican governor and two Republican senators. Memphis has the highest violent crime rate in the country -- number 200 out of 200. (Note: New Orleans and Baton Rouge aren't listed. Probably resist reporting.)
The mayor is a black Democrat, but apparently is concerned about safety, unlike Johnson and Pritzker. I'd bet that Trump could show some excellent progress there. Memphis's population is about the same as D.C's. It would be more manageable than Chicago and have some political cover
Maybe Dallas's black, converted Republican mayor Eric Johnson should request help. Dallas needs it, and it would give him a national profile.
It turns out that the mayor of Memphis is showing opposition, but his approach is to work out the details of interaction with the feds.
My take on this is that crime CAN be controlled. The federal involvement will prove that it can be done. Then, it will be incumbent on the cities to do what they should have been doing all along -- maintaining the peace and protecting their citizens.
I appreciate your thoughts that the leaders of our country should tone down the rhetoric. Yes, indeed! Where has most of the rhetoric come from? Democratic leaders. Kamala Harris called Trump a Facist, AOC, Raskin, Crockett and on and on. You've heard the expression "you need to clean up your own back yard"? If Trump were to come out today and ask for unity and toning down the rhetoric, how many from your side would agree with him? With the TDS running rampant, I think it would only escalate. Many surveys have political violence ok'ed by over 50% of the people taken by some polls, but the breakdown among political party lines shows 44% Democrats approve versus 3% Republicans approve. I believe 3% is too high.
Do you remember not too long ago a video was taken by your leaders of fighting like marshall arts against the air? One had a baseball bat. Those leaders along with Maxine Waters were calling it war and to take it to the streets. Are those the leaders you are talking about? OR just Trump? This is where we are today. Where were the leaders when calling out attacks on Tesla dealers? Or in California when police cars were burned and people blocking traffic on highways? Or rocks and stones hurled at ICE agents and vehicles? Why is it your side has violent protests, I'm sorry they are called "peaceful protest" from your side, am I bad? Why did doxxing become ok? I never heard leaders from your side trying to calm any of that down.
Now that blood is on their hands with the assassination of Charlie Kirk, so NOW is when you want leaders to calm it down? We are not going to let Charlie's death be in vain. But, have you noticed how our vigils all over the world have had no violence, no burning of police cars or buildings but chaos only from the left radicals trying to disrupt them? Peaceful gatherings in over 20 countries with over a million participants and not one outbreak of violence, with the only exceptions from those that were trying to disrupt them from radical leftists. Our vigils and protest are organic and not funded by radical NGO's!
YES, please have the leaders to tone it down and on that I am 100% behind you. Maybe get your house in order before telling your neighbors how to run theirs. (Of course, I am not speaking of you personally but your party - the party of tolerance and peaceful protest)
"The assassination of Charlie Kirk is bringing out some of the best in humanity and it’s also exposing some of the worst. The unification, love, support, and outcry on his behalf throughout the world is heartwarming. The number of people supporting Tyler Robinson’s appalling behavior has opened my eyes to a side of extremism with a moral superiority complex that has also shaken my belief in people in general. I hope they are held accountable for their disgusting rhetoric," he wrote on X. @PhilMickelson
Hey Ron, thanks for the ping earlier!
Over the past several months, since your disaster in Asheville, I’ve often wondered how you’ve personally weathered the storm emotionally and spiritually. How has the community bounced back…what are the visible and invisible signs? Despite the regional repairs that remain, what are you doing to enjoy life these days?
As for me, summer flew by fast!
Another cruise, visiting “Perfect Day in Coco Cay”, where the rain made it fun, but not perfect :(
Buying AI stocks and learning AI apps like Google Studio
Hosting my 10th-floor cookouts with the guys,
Active again with the Texas Exes, game watching at the Longhorn Icehouse!
Christopher’s busy too. campus visits to A&M,
Joining clubs at RHS, while also starting a car club.
This week, the senior Class of 2026 is attending “college fair”, taking SAT/ACT tests, writing essays for college admission, gathering their “volunteering” hours, getting Letters of Recommendation, chasing scholarships…and of course, Homcoming in October!
You said 09/14/25,
In my opinion, you are the best qualified for the task I am going to ask of you. I hope you will agree and take this on.
Charlie Kirk has been compared by some ministers around the country this week to be the modern day Stephen from the book of Acts 6 vs 6-7 and on, right up to Stephen's death of being stoned in public for all to see. My heart swells with pride for all the youth that flooded church services today to honor Charlie's life. Estimated even more than Easter or Christmas services. Charlie's outreach isn't confined to our borders. In London there were estimated crowds in the street of 1 million paying respects. Similar in South Korea, New Zealand and Spain. The evil destruction of a man of faith by a warped minded radical has lite a fire of spirtual renewal around the world. God bless Charlie Kirk.
Thanking you in advance.
Looking back Ron as teens in 1967-1969, we witnessed war, hate-driven violence on the Kent State campus and in the streets of LA and at the DNC in Chicago that left martyrs like MLK, JFK, RFK, MALCOLM X…spawning a music culture with indelible lyrics of "Four Dead in Ohio"...I still remember 50 years later!
Now facing our mortality in our 70’s, little has changed.
The root issues seem both obvious to all, yet oblivious to most.
With the assassination of Charlie Kirk, the same underlying issues:
hate vs. love, hard hearts vs. compassion, self-interest vs. service to others,
have created our newest American martyr.
Until recently, I confess to not knowing much about Charlie’s incredible life and Turning Point ministry of free speech to college kids, https://tpusa.com/.
He was unusually gifted with a young mind that could recall facts faster than a Google search! While on campus, in hundreds of heated student debates of politics, communism, the Bible and Christianity, abortion, LGBTQ rights…Charlie was an
exceptionally compassionate listener who showed kindness and dignity, even while under fire and verbally abused as he delivered his message of God and hope for America!
As for discourse here, it’s equally difficult to observe much difference from then vs. now, and them vs. us.
IT all stems from hate and from deranged , mental , mean people.. IT is all fostered by HATE.
I'm beginning to think a conservative person with a Christian faith still 'a work in progress', should just stay away from Mr. Liberal as much as possible. Life is fleeting enough to wrangle with a sourpuss; an oaf.
Avoiding the mirror, pointing the finger, and petty gossiping about old friends.
Losing our soul, one day at a time.
Seeking attention while craving affirmation and affection.
More important for self-expression and being right, than being kind.
Seldom encouraging or uplifting each other...lonely.
Looking back since 2016, this Forum has had 360 posts referencing the Bible…almost one for each day of the year.
It remains unclear to me if either is read.
I find that a respite from bad banter is restorative to my soul.
Political arguments mask the toxic underpinnings of a deeper spiritual divide.
Of course, if you have an opinion on this post, feel free to "prove me wrong!"
I had the wrong week. next Tuesday is the Bonhoeffer movie at the church. For yhose not familuar with him he was a Theologian and pacifist. He decide it was better to fight such evil and he became a spy against Nazi Germany and also worked to kill Hitler.
Lance do you want to see the movie? I intend to go.
Lance my apologies. I did not know you were not that familiar with Charlie. My intent was to compare him to Stephen, the first Christian martyr, and the comparisons in the book of Acts. But, you were spot on that he was a living Google search and never used any notes except some occasional charts.
I've read online comments from quite a substantial number of people, from all walks of life, many of them with YouTube videos available, that we in America are in a battle not of political right wingers and left wingers, but a battle of good vs. evil.
It is noticeable to a large number of people as they go through their daily lives observing with trepidation.
Your're exactly right with your comment that it's good vs evil. We seem to always say "oh that's just left wing or that's just right wing rhetoric". And to the defense of ALL "good" Democrats out there like our friends here on the Forum, I feel sorry that their party has been taken hostage by radicals. I don't know if you have heard of a young journalist and author, Andy Ngo but he has a book out called"Unmasked" about how Antifa is trying to end democracy. Andy was born and raised in Portland, OR. THAT should say something!!! He is 39 years old. He was severly beaten by Antifa a few years ago for his published reportings. He has dived deep into them and in the process has uncovered a complete sytemic take over of media. The extreme leftists have been using algorithms to feed the radical left proganda for several years now. THIS IS THE RADICAL'S GAME PLAN. Flood the legacy news with misinformation or even outright lies then it's out there for everyone to see. Then in a day or two either print a retraction or issue some sort of apology (that's buried or lost) and everyone thinks, oh ok it's all good now. But no! It takes a certain amount of stories that are written to be able to keep them out there unedited across the internet. For example, if you write a bunch of false stories and many more friends do too and they are picked up by enough media sources, then those lies can be picked up by Wikipedia because it meets the algorithm set forth by Wikipedia. ANOTHER point is that is exactly how Adam Schiff orchestrated the Russia hoax. Then when naive people hear the story from multiple sources and go verify it on the internet, which so often are corrupt sources, it's the truth to them. That's what Schiff was banking on.
There is an interview of Andy Ngo with host Winston Marshall (UK) that's a scary revealing of pure evil. He gets into the Charlie Kirk murder and goes deep into the radicalization of the youth on some of the social platforms they use like Discord. Andy as well as Winston are on an Antifa hit list. They talk about how the radical left has normalized murder. IT"S PURE EVIL!
I just didn't realize how long this has been going on. Jan and all, I'm sorry for the extreme culture that has been trying to brain wash you. This country was built on Christian - Judeo beliefs. God is mentioned in The Constitution 4 times. If we don't have a society with God in the hearts of the people, we really don't have a society. It's a free for all. Sandra, I am not saying you don't have a pure heart because you do. I know you and your heart and I believe you do have God in your heart! You were just not brought up like I was where God was a large focus in our family. If society doesn't believe in God then The Constitution means nothing. You can't rule a country that has laws based in morality by a Supreme power when it's citizens are pagans. Thank God for Charlie Kirk and the revival he has brought back to millions of followers and first timers to Christ's word.
You mean this gown? And I think they're natural. I've never experienced the fake kind........
Is it just me or is anybody else exasperated at the rigidly unregulated rants of celebrities like "Taxi Driver" actor Robert De Nitro, George "Clueless Looney" Clooney, Joyless Behar of "The View", Johnny "Depthless" Depp or Non-Riveting Rosie "A Rose by Any Other Name is Still a Thorn Bush" O'Donnell?
I, too, watched that YouTube interview between Andy Ngo and Winston Marshall.
The YouTube video is one everybody should watch, to be clued into what sneaky, evil sources want to do to destroy our present democracy by way of social media, as you say. Antifa is being aided, big time(!), by Dark Money people like Soros and his associates from other countries who want to bring America down.
That's why I've said to beware of what encircles and entices you everyday, and take notice of what your children and grandchildren are viewing online. I'm glad that Tik-Tok is now likely to be bought, in part, by American companies, so that the Chinese influence can be greatly reduced. Those Chinese DO NOT allow their OWN CHILDREN to partake of the same silly stuff they produce for American kids, because they know the crappy indoctrination junk is damaging to young minds lured into the claptrap.
Yes...I agree she does look better (sexier) since she got her "breast aubmentation". I have had personal experiences with this type of surgery.......expensive for "silicone breast implants"......I have paid for (5) of these types of surgical proceedures over the years - not saying for who though. You're talking at least $6K to have this surgery to be done right - but the costs can go as high as $12K...and "silicone" IMO is better than "saline"....."silicone" IMO...is more natural look, etc.
Of course, this type of surgery should be a "woman's" decision.
In my Sister's case...she had breast cancer & afterwards had "reconstructive breast surgery". So, there are various reasons WHY some woman decide to have this type of surgery.
Well........I think NOW, just about every "subject" you can think of has NOW been covered here on this Forum......*smile*.
As I've seen multiple firings of those making mocking videos or internet posts across the country of Charlie Kirk's assassination, it comes to mind how so many on the left bragged about their higher education vs the gun toting bubbas on the right. I heard back last November how uneducated anyone was that voted for Trump.
Wouldn't you think, if so highly educated, these people would know that their employment documents contain a code of ethics clause to not bring negative light on the business or institution they work for. I know if anyone gained employment that has an HR Department that is the case. It extends for your private life as well as professional. You see the legal department has a CYA mentality for such crazy fools that nothing will come back to bite them. This code of ethics clause gives the employer just cause for dismissal without the employee being able to file a wrongful termination lawsuit. Even small companies, whether expressed in writing or verbally implied especially in a right to work state can still fire anyone for just cause.
I've seen so many crying of their job loss with the explanation I was only excercising my freedom of speech. But these firings are not reserved for common labor types. Remember the higher educated comments? So yes the firings include University professors, teachers, middle to upper management personnel and more. Maybe they are book smart, but common sense pretty dumb!!!
JUST FOUND OUT JIMMY KIMMEL joins the ranks of unemployed after Charlie Kirk comments!!!!
In a seperate thought - What a horrible event this afternoon in Pennsylvania with the tragic police deaths and injuries. Prayers for their loved ones. As Gov. Josh Shapiro said, it is time to stop this.
You are right about your hate speech comment and Pam Bondi. You can spew hate speech, but... She did post what constituted speech that is not covered under the First Admendment. Things like yelling fire in a theatre and basically anything to bring harm or cause death to a person or persons, like I will kill you and your family. Or let's combine to kill all the conservatives and have a hit list, etc...I can't remember all of them. Basically anything that incites people to act in a harmful or deadly manner. Even right now burning our flag is covered under free speech. Trump is trying to change that and I agree. I appeal to our legal folks here for clarification, Bob!
