Welcome to the Richardson High School Message Forum.

The Message Forum is an ongoing dialogue among classmates. The goal is to encourage friendly interaction, including interaction among classmates who really didn't know each other. Experience on the site has revealed that certain topics tend to cause friction and hard feelings, especially politics and religion.

Although politics and religion are not completely off-limits, classmates are asked to be positive in their posts and not to be too repetitive or allow a dialog to degenerate into an argument.

The LA "Peaceful Protest" must end. How can the left extreme define "peaceful" while burning cars, throwing rocks and concrete at Federal agents and vehicles, looting stores and on and on and on...?????? LA is a prime example of what extreme left Democrats have created. Why are they bitching about Trump's deportation of illegal immigrants, when their OWN Obama deported over 3 million??? Trump is nowhere close to that number. How does it make sense that these protestors, BTW that many are being paid by a left wing organization CHIRLA, are able to use taxpayer dollars to fund the insurrection and protest on the streets of LA??? YES, that's right, check it out to verify.

I get Facebook posts daily and some from my friends on the left that are TDS infected, but the fearmongering rherotic is just ridiculous and I have to call it out. Calling Trump a facist is insane. Is Trump going to overthrow the Supreme Court? Have you forgotten that George HW Bush in 1992 called the National Guard and Military to stop the riots in LA!! I hear BS from TDS Dems all the time on Facebook. JUST STOP IT!!! The Dems are at their worst approval rating in decades and continuing down this path will keep them out of power for years to come. Congressman Fetterman is one of the last with a modicum of common sense. How long will it be until he is kicked completely aside?

Speaking of TDS, Terry Moran is now out of a job with ABC after his rant this past weekend. Yeah, ABC that bastian of unbiased reporting and journalistic integrity. The same ABC that good ole George Stephanoupolis and ABC paid over $15million in a settlement to TRUMP for their lies!!!

I did not vote for a President for the first time in my life in 2016. I thought that Trump was an arrogant ass and unfit for the job, BUT Hillary was an even worse choice.Trump has proven me wrong, but NOT Hillary. The coming months will prove the hypocracy of the left and Sanctuary States and Cities. We will find out how much the American Taxpayers have been paying for the open border crisis under the Biden administration.

Just in. Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys dead at age 82. A lot of great music

So, Brian Wilson has died - he would have turned 83 on June 20.

Here's the cause(s) of actor George Wendt's death at age 76 - he was on TV series "Cheers" which I never watched, even once:

Wendt's cause of death was listed as cardiac arrest, when the heart suddenly stops pumping blood. Contributing conditions were years of congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease and hypertension, also known as high blood pressure. He also had end-stage renal disease and hyperlipidemia (high blood cholesterol).

Jimmi John!

You didn't like Cheers?

Was it too sophomoric for your sophisticated humor level?

Did you like The Beach Boys?

Did you ever adopt a cat from a TN shelter, to give you head butts and barfed-up hairballs of varying color and consistency, for your amusement?

Janalu,

The last TV series I watched regularly was "The Rockford Files". Also I liked "Columbo" and all the later Rockford TV movies & Columbo episodes. I don't like sticoms unlike in my childhood. I've never watched a soap opera episode either.

My sister is allergic to cats so is my daughter. I'll probably never get one. And I'll never live with another dog although I like dogs.

Of course I liked the Beach Boys. I saw them March 24, 1967 after Brian Wilson had stopped touring with them for 2-3 years by that time - my 2nd music show ever, in downtown Dallas at Memorial Auditorium. But I did see Brian Wilson with a band at a casino in Oregon in summer, 2015.

Stuff you have stolen is only expectedly protected to a "normal" amount.   Even though you get replacement cost, there is a deductible and a depreciation for each item.   If and when you replace it, you send in the receipt showing the replacement cost.   Sometimes, replacement is less than what the loss was (like in TV's.) as items have gone down in price.

Always good to have an inventory of your stuff.   Makes claims a whole lot easier...video and audio tapes are helpful.   An adjuster wants to pay a claim, but needs to satisfy the carrier's procedures to justify to their boss, the company's system, the validity of a loss.   It keeps everyone's costs down...Insurance is not you vs the carrier, it is everyone together with the carrier...

If there are any valuable items in the home which need protection they should be "scheduled."   I prefer a client to get any real valuable stuff "scheduled" on a separate personal property floater.   These are available separately from the home policy.   Claims would go against those floaters instead of against your home insurance.   Easy to shop for on line.   Follow the instructions carefully and document.

Prices on floaters are based on items' values.    Paintings, gun collections, other collections, antiques, Persian rugs...jewelry...They can be stolen or lost in a fire/tornado.   You may need to have appraisals done.

My insurance joke is a customer calls in a claim for their car destroyed in a hailstorm.   The agent or adjuster asks why you didn't park it in the garage, and the claimant exclaims they DID.

Actually not too many theft or burglary claims (there is a difference.)  Burglary shows a sign of breaking in.   Theft can be a mysterious disappearance.   Mostly wind/hail and water damage...turning off water a biggee...going away from home for extended trip?   turn it off.

Just Curious From My Dem Friends...

Why are we not hearing about the waste, fraud and abuse about David Lam 45, a supervisor for the Social Security Administration in Pearland, TX (Houston)??? He struck a deal with prosecutors of his over $3.3million fraud scheme that he has agreed to pay back restitution on - Yeah RIGHT!! that money is gone!!!! Look him up. This just happened about a week ago. Is the main stream news media reporting this? NO!! But they are bashing DOGE discovering waste, fraud and abuse. This guy had access to social security numbers and personal information and used it to commit fraud. YET Dems go balisistic on DOGE for discovering this??? Tell me how that makes sense!

WE just keep finding more and more Dems are corrupt and with Biden's admin were able to get away with it. Yeah many Republicans over the years have been dirty and should they be found committing waste, fraud or abuse be held to the standard that no one is above the law and be prosecuted. Leticia James is about to reap what she sowed with her frivilous lawfare against Trump. But her case is REAL mortgage fraud and insurance fraud.

AND the fake protestors in LA and around the country are now known being funded to create chaos. $200 per day and even bused in!! This is paid anarchy by Communist and Marxist organizations , not a ground roots movement. Check out California's CHIRLA paid for by CA taxpayers. FAKE news, FAKE protestors and just an empty suit Democratic party that uses fearmongering to carry a FAKE narrative to gullible Dems. No wonder so many Dems are fleeing from this radical left wing ideology. The TDS is real for the party of "peace". Nobody sees peaceful protests if you open your eyes. ONLY Trump HATE and for any conservative who loves this country

OPERATION RISING LION -

PROPHETIC & PERSONAL IMPLICATIONS

Good Morning, Ron,

While curiosity killed the cat OTOS, it may be more advisable to let sleeping dogs lie. I understand the habit to stir the pot, but I'm confident that bigger issues lie ahead that should create the urgency to reunite our purpose and de-escalate our discourse with fellow classmates.

Just days after Pentecost, and one day before Trumps’ parade in D.C. honoring the US Army’s 250th anniversary, https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/jun/13/trump-military-parade-washington , on June 12–13, 2025, Israel launched Operation Rising Lion, a series of ongoing pre-emptive attacks on Iran deploying over 200 aircraft against Iranian nuclear and military sites, assassinating top IRGC commanders including Gen. Hossein Salami, while Iran responded with drone strikes understandingwar.org+10ft.com+10nypost.com+10. Oil prices surged (~14%), stock futures dropped, and the region teetered on wider war marketwatch.com.

The recent airstrikes by Israel on Iranian nuclear facilities on June 12–13, 2025 (Operation Rising Lion) have reignited global fears of war escalation in the Middle East. Iran’s retaliation has prompted regional emergency meetings and calls for calm. One nation in the region soon emerging prominently as a would-be broker is Turkey.

While Turkey presents itself as a stabilizing force straddling NATO and its Ottoman ambitions of a reunified empire, its strategic vision is far more layered. President Erdoğan has long expressed dreams of Islamic unity and has hosted summits with Pakistan, Qatar, and other states to promote a Euro‑Asian Islamic order. Some analysts now speculate this could evolve into a pan-Islamic confederacy, possibly aligning with prophetic symbols of Gomer and Togarmah in Ezekiel 38.

Biblical Prophetic Alignment

Damascus Destruction: Isaiah 17 foresees Damascus’s downfall. While Syria is already fractured, Israel's operations—direct or by proxy—could further push Damascus toward “permanent ruins.”

Psalm 83 War: Israel’s strike may spur a regional alliance against it. Psalm 83 mentions a confederacy (e.g. Hamas, Hezbollah, and Arab nations) conspiring to destroy Israel—and we see echoes today reuters.com+10christinprophecy.org+10atlanticcouncil.org+10chattube.io.

Gog‑Magog War: Ezekiel 38 speaks of a grand northern invasion after Israel finds relative peace. Today’s tensions may be early rumblings of that scenario.

Prince of Persia: Daniel 10–11 portrays antagonism from the Persian Empire (modern Iran). Israel’s aggressive action in June 2025 marks a significant escalation, aligning with Daniel’s end‑time symbolism involving Persia.

Pre‑Trib Rapture: With conflicts intensifying, many Christians interpret these events as advancing God’s prophetic timeline. This underscores the call to readiness and gospel witness before the Tribulation.

POLITICAL VS. SPIRITUAL REALITIES

Geopolitical: Israel took pre‑emptive military action amid a perceived existential threat. The U.S. supported Israel primarily with intelligence, though not directly involved theaustralian.com.au.

Ecclesiastical: Believers are challenged to respond in layered ways:
Prayer: For Israel’s protection, for Iranian converts, and for divine intervention to prevent full-scale war.
Prophetic Discernment: To interpret events in context but resist sensationalism.
Outreach: Offering hope to both Israelis and Iranians—recognizing all are image‑bearers of God.

PROPHETIC TIMELINE (2025–2035)

PROPHECY (Scripture & Context)

HISTORICAL CONTEXT

ALIGNMENT WITH WORLD EVENTS TODAY

SPIRITUAL WARNINGS & OUR RESPONSE

Destruction of Damascus (Isaiah 17:1)

Damascus will become a heap of ruins.

Damascus is one of the world’s oldest cities; war has devastated it.

Syria remains unstable. Israeli strikes near the Syrian border continue.

A reminder of God’s sovereignty. Urgent call to intercede for civilians and for peace amid judgment.

Psalm 83 War (Psalm 83:1–8)

Arab nations form a confederacy against Israel.

Some scholars believe this prophecy remains future. Others see partial fulfillment in modern Arab-Israeli wars.

Iranian and Palestinian factions (e.g. Hamas) escalate threats; increasing regional anti-Israel rhetoric.

Watch, pray for Israel’s safety, and reject antisemitism. Support peacemaking efforts.

Gog and Magog War (Ezekiel 38–39)

Coalition from the north attacks Israel.

Gog (leader) from “Magog” (often associated with regions north of Israel). Nations include Persia (Iran), Gomer, and Togarmah (areas linked to Turkey).

Turkey, Iran, and Russia increasingly collaborate militarily and diplomatically.

Stay alert, spiritually prepared. Use discernment, reject fear. Trust in God’s protective plan for His people.

Prince of Persia (Daniel 10:13–20)

Spiritual battle behind earthly powers.

Persia (Iran) plays a spiritual and prophetic role in opposing God’s people.

Iran’s military ambitions, nuclear development, and spiritual repression of Christians remain in focus.

Recognize spiritual warfare behind headlines. Engage in prayer, fasting, and outreach to persecuted believers.

Turkey's Rise & Euro-Islamic Bloc (Ezekiel 38:6; Revelation 17:12–13)

Gomer and Togarmah join Gog’s alliance.

Gomer and Togarmah are historically linked to Asia Minor—modern Turkey.

Turkey is positioning as mediator while increasing Islamic influence in Europe. President ErdoÄŸan has called for a greater Muslim union.

Watch for spiritual deception. Pray for Muslim-background believers. Share truth lovingly amid religious polarization.

Pre‑Tribulation Rapture (1 Thess. 4:16–17; Rev. 3:10)

The Church is caught up before the Tribulation.

Common in premillennial theology; viewed as imminent.

Global chaos, lawlessness, and spiritual apostasy are rising.

Live in readiness. Share the Gospel boldly. Find peace and urgency in Christ’s promise of rescue.

Turkey in Biblical Prophecy

Ezekiel 38 lists Gomer and Togarmah—regions many scholars associate with Turkey—as part of the Gog-Magog alliance, suggesting Turkey may abandon its Western ties to join a coalition against Israel.

Revelation 17:12–13 speaks of ten kings giving power to the Beast for a short time. Some prophecy scholars believe these could include Middle Eastern or European Islamic leaders.

Turkey's dual identity—Islamic heritage + NATO/EU connections—makes it uniquely positioned to act as a bridge or trigger in end-time alignments.

Prophetic Implications

Psalm 83, Isaiah 17, and Ezekiel 38 together sketch a volatile period for Israel, framed by Arab confederacies, northern alliances, and supernatural conflict. While Israel moves militarily (as seen in its latest strikes), other actors—like Turkey—move diplomatically and spiritually, seeking to unify and lead.

These developments echo the "birth pangs" Jesus spoke of in Matthew 24, and the Apostle Paul’s warnings in 2 Thessalonians 2, describing rising deception and rebellion before the Day of the Lord.

Conclusion

World events—especially Israel’s military operations against Iran—mirror patterns in biblical prophecy. Yet prophecy isn’t an excuse for alarm; it's a clarion call to prayer, vigilant faith, and gospel engagement. Whether you see these events as part of a prophetic progression or geopolitical chess, what matters most is our spiritual posture.

Key Takeaways

These prophecies may be unfolding, but scripture calls us to prayer, discernment, and witness.
Prepare spiritually: discipleship, readiness, and compassion must define our response.
The Lord remains sovereign. Our hope is not in strategy or timing, but in Jesus Christ.

How Should We Respond?

Spiritually:

Stay rooted in Christ. Know the truth to resist deception.
Pray for Muslim-background believers, many of whom are persecuted or displaced.
Love your enemies and bless those who curse you—true spiritual warfare is fought on our knees.

Practically:

Support ministries helping in Israel, Syria, Iran, and Turkey.
Speak against antisemitism and Islamophobia—neither reflect Christ.
Share your hope in Jesus. The rapture may come at any moment—let’s not be caught sleeping.

VIVA LA RAZA!

QUESTION for left & right & centrists: Where is YOUR allegiance…to the US Constitution, the rule of law, and the flag? Where does “family” fit in your hierarchy?

While you and i may strongly feel that Trump, Homan, and the ICE Feds are right…we need to step back and assess just how we should begin to deport 12 million illegal aliens, and still remain righteous…without blood on our hands and conscious?

Hispanics are first loyal to family and their Latino flag....not the Stars and Stripes!

MAGA Boxer Ryan Garcia Punches Back At Donald Trump:

‘I Can’t Stay Silent…”   by Lee Moran - Updated Fri, June 13, 2025 at 7:23 AM CDT

MAGA boxer Ryan Garcia slammed Donald Trump over his administration’s aggressive immigration raids in Los Angeles.

Garcia previously has praised Trump as “the best president” and shadowboxed for him during a visit to his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida.

He even once wrote on social media, “Love you Trump,” and fiercely defended him in other posts.

But on Thursday, Garcia ripped Trump in response to his controversial immigration crackdown that has sparked protests in LA and to which Trump has deployed the National Guard, a move that has been slammed as a major, unneeded and divisive escalation by critics.

“I may have voted for Trump, but I can’t stay silent about what’s happening with ICE in LA,” Garcia wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Ryan Garcia looks on during a media workout ahead of his WBA Welterweight Title fight against Rolando Romero in April. Cris Esqueda/Golden Boy via Getty Images

“These aren’t just ‘illegals’ or statistics they’re people,” pointed out the Victorville-born and raised pugilist, whose grandparents were born in Mexico and who often enters the ring with both the American and Mexican flags.

“Hardworking immigrants, especially Mexicans, who pay taxes, raise families, build our communities, and are part of the people we love,” Garcia continued. “Ripping them away from their homes is not just policy it’s pain. We can have borders without losing our humanity.

I've never heard of Ryan Garcia, and I don't normally make judgments based on what a pugilist says. I note that the article points out the view of "critics" but doesn't seem to acknowledge that there are many who are cheering the activities of ICE.

By the way, my sense in watching some of the news coverage of the Los Angeles riots is that the troublemakers are not immigrants. Here is a story (print and video) about an entity that specializes in generating protestors for whatever group will pay. Cynics will say, "What do you expect in a story from Fox News?" Pish-posh.

Illegal aliens are here illegally. Illegal aliens who commit crimes are doubly illegal. Rioting, destroying cars, looting, attacking police, etc. are illegal. Why don't "new" Democrats understand this? Go back and look at the videos of Clinton and Obama. What changed?

BTW, in my (former) line of work, I interacted with innumerable immigrants. My dean at UTDallas is from Turkey. The new president is from India. My department chair is from China. In fact, most of my department is from somewhere else. I have had numerous TAs and many many students from other countries. They were/are all here legally. Legally.

Just a Thought

Tomorrow is NO KINGS DAY as declared by Christy Walton, 76 year old heiress to the Walmart empire. At some $18 billion net worth, she placed a full page ad in The New York Times declaring Saturday June 14th No Kings Day nationwide. With all of the escalation of riots/"peaceful protests" in the last several days, should she be held accountable for any injuries or deaths tomorrow to both civilians and law enforcement/National Guard? To me the ad promotes protests that the left can't seem to control on their own. Why do fires and looting accompany so many "peaceful protest"? Christy's ad in my mind just stir those extreme liberals who are mentally unstable to incite riots nationwide. How many paid protestors will be employed tomorrow?? Going rate on Craigslist is $150-$200 a day and up for extremists (offers of $12,500 -$16,500/mo for extremists - San Franciso Craigslist) These ads are for "Help Wanted" for general labor and part-time appear in San Fran CL. The ads are disguised for construction workers until you read the entire ad. They also get free legal service and bail should they get arrested. They also get free bus trips to locations to protest. And now we know many source of funds for these paid protestors are directly tied to Communist and Marxist affiliated organizations.

I pray that this day will pass with truly peaceful protests and no injuries to anyone. However, my gut tells me different. How much blame can be directed to Christy and her NYT's full page ad if the worse case scenario plays out? If the worst case scenarios occur, the DOJ may have questions for Christy.

On the news Gov. Newsom said over 500 protesters have been arrested.  I guess the mayor of LA is claiming peaceful protests.

Hmmm.   Interesting and appropro connection.   My Garland, SFASU, Dallas 70's Oak Lawn, liberal friend, Randy Ferguson emailed me.   He had just finished watching the Ken Burns' Viet Nam war 10 part series in which a Goucher College graduate was somewhat featured throughout due to her having lost her brother in the War.

This peaked his memory of having attended the 1973 anit-war march in DC and meeting RHS 69er, Leslie Miller.  He googled her and found  his old friend and this...Leslie Miller also attended Goucher College.

The image didn't post.   Worth a google...She's quite attractive.

THE BOMBS BURSTING IN AIR

It’s a rare day when we get to watch a triple-header of events.

But yesterday’s worldwide action was one for the books,

with plenty of fireworks bringing shock and awe to Kings and queens alike!

Happy 79th birthday for POTUS 47...and Jerry!

Strange contrasts

on our TV.

Austin’s No Kings parade included gay pride…making every queen proud!

Hispanics cause shock and awe parading in LA

And as our ongoing contrast of political opinions remain on parade OTOS, herr Kurt Fisher was again berated and compared to Joe Biden herr Hitler for his descent…as a proud German, and Forum lurker.

Feliz Día Del Padre!

Oh, and the DC Defenders defended their title as UFL "Super Bowl" Champions!

And for Jerry, me, and all y’all dads with Pride as single Fathers,

Sleepin' under a table in a roadside park,

A man could wake up dead.

But it sure seems warmer than it did

Sleepin' in our king-sized bed.

Any place is alright as long as I,

Can forget I've ever known her.

David,

Your mother was a beautiful woman. Classic features. Megawatt smile. Stunning, actually.  Too many  women underestimate; do not see, or patently refuse to believe how beautiful they are.  No doubt far too humble to admit, I hope deep down, your mom knew she was (what we now refer to as)  "seriously lit."  :)     So sweet of you to honor her. Hope all is well.
