Welcome to the Richardson High School Message Forum.

The Message Forum is an ongoing dialogue among classmates. The goal is to encourage friendly interaction, including interaction among classmates who really didn't know each other. Experience on the site has revealed that certain topics tend to cause friction and hard feelings, especially politics and religion.

Although politics and religion are not completely off-limits, classmates are asked to be positive in their posts and not to be too repetitive or allow a dialog to degenerate into an argument.

Forums work when people participate - so don't be bashful! Click the "Post Response" button to add your entry to the forum.

David, I am sure the Texans would welcome you as a fan, even if your second choice.  CJ Stroud is fun to watch.  It's his work ethic and the OC, Bobby Slowick, who is a Shanahan protege and came over with Demeco Ryans.... I am really impressed with Aaron Jones.   I've had him on my fantasy team every year for his career except this one.  He was always available for some reason.   He reminds me of Dan Reeves (with speed)..toudchdown crazy man...

Slaton got one in there.

Greg Olsen, the color man for this game, was a great tight end, and I thought his dad was Melin Olsen, but I guess not.   Only thing they have in common is two long NFL careers.

Lowell,

I think Greg Olsen is really great at explaining stuff, especially since I'm not a football player. He seems to really know the ins and outs of the game. Tony Romo too and others..........

David,

You can cry but not in your beer.  It will only ruin the beer.

the pokes looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights.   The Packers were running around with all kinds of youthful exuberance.   Usually, that doesn't get you too far.   But, the Packers and the Texans both had that swag...

Like the Rangers had too...

Can't find it in a bottle, at least, not anymore...

I know nothing, but the announcers did mention that Dallas basically abandoned man to man for a zone...and those Packer receivers were really adept at running a pattern that was just coming out of one zone into the nether zone...and Love was hot...

I don't think I will analyze the game. I'll just go to sleep tonight and hope to wake up yesterday.

I noticed on a few replays yesterday that quite a few defensive players (watched two games) were using their forearms to further their hits...It should have been called as PF or unsportsmanlike conduct...

We used to call that a 'shiver'   Coach Huffman and Rust had us using the 'shiver' and we all went out and got strap-on foam pads for our wrists and elbows.

Several games we won the toss and decided to defend.   JV footballers couldn't kick too far, so the choice to take possession was more common than we see in the pro's and college these days...Receiving often meant good field position.

Anyway, our JV team would kick off instead...Then, upon the other team's first snap count sound, all our defensive team would jump offsides and slam the opponent with our shiver forearms...

It was a 5-yard penalty for offsides.   It should have been a personal foul or unnecessary roughness, but I never remember that being called.

Pretty cool, IMHO.

It seems to me we were scheduled to play 8 games.   I think we got six due to other team cancels.   We played South Garland JV's twice.   Our last game was also canceled, so we played against ourselves...with just 20 guys and coach Huffman and Rust both joining to play in the game.   No refs.

If I say so myself, I was pretty tough for a 110 lb high schooler.

David C,

Not sure about your post. The NEXT Cowboys game is THIS SUMMER!

Also Trump has stated that he knows who his VP will be. I bet Larry Elder number 1 and Vivek number 2, but I don't gamble, other than pick-up card games. OK, OK, this is wishful thinking on my part.........

Joy Reid says with a vicious and disgusted tone, "Iowa is OVER-REPRESENTED with White Christians!"

What the h***  does she mean by that statement(?)," I wonder.

Anybody care to take a shot?

Doesn't sound like a genteel all-American statement to me.......

Is she trying to infere that White Christians shouldn't be listened to or given any significant notice, since they are consumed with religiosity nonsense and are therefore irrelevant?  And probably, if you find yourself living in a state with an abundance of them, you are living in a regrettable, pitiful situation; a hellhole.

I can't stand to listen to the rhetoric that comes out of that Harvard graduate's mouth!

I wonder if she ever has anything pleasant to say.....ever!?

I think we can all understand that Iowa is a state she would never even consider living in.  The citizens' stench would be unbearable for her and her kind.

I don't know what to say about  the Cowboys "colossal failure".........except the old man (Jones) looked so hurt and defeated afterward. And, he seemed to age even moreso during his statements after the game!

I've seen that look before, and I believe there will be changes!

But somehow the NFL needs to make huge changes with officiating.......because their being involved to the degree that can change the outcome.....potentially is getting to be more and more consistent; instead of good, fair calls. This game doesn't really count, but I've seen Micah Parsons held on many plays (during the year) and  the offending player was not called. It finally took a "takedown" in this one......for the laundry to be thrown!

But it was not just the "no calls" this year, but flags coming out like so many golden leaves! (as radio announcer Jay Randolph would say) And by the way, Cowboys were most penalized in the league!

I was once talking to All-Pro safety Darren Woodson about a controversial call on him for a late hit on the opposing QB (just the week before) He sheepishly shrugged his shoulders and looked down (he was thinking about being fined)

And laughed at my statement that QBs would end up with "flags on their hips!"

And what's up with all these huddles (by the refs) in the middle of the field for extended periods? Time to get hot dog?

What ever happened to the Norm Schaecters, Pat Haggertys, Johnny Griers, "Red" Cashions, Mike Careys and Gene Steratores of the officiating world?~

Griping Cowboy fan called into my sportstalk radio station this morning and ended with,

"Still a Cowboy fan, and when I die, I am asking for the Cowboys to attend my funeral and be my pall bearers so they can let me down one last time."

Lowell,

Good one. Follow up.

I intend to be cremated, so I can go down in flames, just like my favorite team!

Martha and I actually attended a funeral at Restland yesterday. Woman from our church who was my father's secretary in the late 1950s. Went to the internment, and itr was cold! However, it was interesting to watch the process of moving the casket into place and lowering it.

Seemed to me that the casket was way too nice. Too much money to waste underground. I want to be cremated in a cardboard container, although no time soon, It is my tip-of-the-hat to environmentalism.

Oh, wait a minute. Doesn't cremation generate CO2?

Maybe I should just do the earth a favor and stay alive.

No, that doesn't make sense on several "grounds".

Geez. Just dig a hole and throw me in. But don't forget my gold crown on my back molar. Feel free to yank it out, but please make sure that I'm really dead!

Burial at sea, perhaps?

David C, Lowell et al,

Just read on-line that coach Mike McCarthy is safe for '24. So DUMB Jerry's first decision after Sunday's debacle is the WRONG one. What else is new? Situation Normal All Fouled Up. The two dumbbells will probably decide Dak is stil the QB too for a NINTH year of ultimate failure.

So here's my prediction for the upcoming season. 29th consecutive year of NO NFC Championship game appearance. As always, the following items will make ABSOLUTELY no difference in the SAME OL' dismal result: 1) strength of roster, 2) strength of opponents, 3) our coaching staff & its ability, 4) etc. ad nauseum.

And if we had had Bill Belichick on the sidelines 4 days ago, there would NOT have been 4 numbers I will not forget easily, namely 27-0 and 48-16.

At least in a year and 2 more days, the Orange Hitler will be resuming office, God willing.............

Also I heard today that NRA's Alec Baldwin has had his negligent-homicide trial resurrected. We'll see if he escapes justice like so many of his kindred spirits these days.

David Weir,

We did indeed call him "Moby" for awhile. Not sure how long,

Somehow it morphed into "Mobus" as well
