Welcome to the Richardson High School Message Forum.

The Message Forum is an ongoing dialogue among classmates. The goal is to encourage friendly interaction, including interaction among classmates who really didn't know each other. Experience on the site has revealed that certain topics tend to cause friction and hard feelings, especially politics and religion.

Although politics and religion are not completely off-limits, classmates are asked to be positive in their posts and not to be too repetitive or allow a dialog to degenerate into an argument.

David C et al,

Yeah, Dallas Mayor! If the Dems lose their black voters, that will be it for them, I think. No wonder the evil Dem leadership is in in such a hurry to get illegal aliens here so they can go fully Marxist and they don't care who knows it anymore.

There was an article in the DMN this morning about students at Berkner HS in Richardson teaming up with a Credit Union to staff a banking operation.   I don't know the specifics, but the article praised the efforts and there are similar operations in Allen and Little Elm...

Who remembers the savings accounts we started with Dallas Federal Savings?  At Heights Elem. We had passbooks and made deposits of nickels and dimes, perhaps a quarter...I think it was change we have from lunch, or change we took from home.

I think I have about 5.00 in the account.  I'll bet Steve Healy had hundreds...

I can't remember if I ever closed it out.   Too late now...though, I have checked missing funds with the State of Texas.

We have recovered $$ from missing funds in Michigan and Texas, but it has become more difficult to do so after an estate is closed...(Not too difficult if we had the closing court signed documents on the will probate...)

Lady Lanajuju plus the Richardson Roustabout Patti fomerly Killen, now Chillin' Reich Frau,

As much as I drive around now, and since he offered to move me in his truck & trailer from greater Portland to Knoxville (how NICE was that?!?! of course, he reneged, but can you really blame him, even before any hospital stay? This is I we're talking about. C'MON, (WO)MAN!), I would love to drive Steve around if he needs it and if I'm ever in the area. A bonus would be face-to-face abuse time then, as you can well imagine, of course.

One illegal guy bit off the finger of either a border agent or a National Guardsman, or a jailer, just one day ago.  It was later confirmed that the 'biter' was a mentally ill person.  Who would have guessed?  Maybe the biter was an admirer of Ozzy Osbourne, and wanted to experience a unique and similar kinship, of sorts, to Sir Oz.

It has been reported that some countries south of our border, are emptying their prisons, and telling the inmates to head for the US or be shot, ( I would assume....)

How nice for us!   We can look forward to many years of caring for these illustrious folks in our prisons, with food, general medical care, dental care, eye glasses, and maybe even transitioning treatments with breast implants!  Should be interesting to see what new creations/Halloween characters we can produce.

Thanks Biden!

The poor guy minus a finger will probably need a rabies shot as well as stitches.  Can he sue the gov't. for loss of a digit while on duty; hazard pay?

David C,

My original estimate when this Commie border nonsense started, was 15-20 MILLION NEW illegal aliens. So since who knows how many unaccounted people are involved as well, I'm thinking that was a pretty good estimate of the ILLEGAL INVASION FOISTED ON US BY THE PREEMINENTLY EVIL DEMOCRAT PARTY.

David;

Very good question on the number of immigrants not caught.

Jimbo,

Before Biden got into office, our gov't. was telling us there were around 12,000 illegal aliens (which is the official legal definition of these particular folks, and is the term used by attorneys) and by the end of this year, there will be approimately 8 million new people in this country, due to Biden NOT enforcing our border laws.  Plus, there have been approximately 2 million "got-aways," buzzing passed border patrol agents, most likely.

We know there were really about 20 million illegals in the US before Biden took office, rather than 12 million that was reported for about a ten-twelve year period.

So, at this time, we probably have 20 million, plus 8 milllion, plus 2 million new mouths to feed, house, educate, and we have to pick up the tab of healthcare too, since these people came into our country with nothing but a backpack of a few items.  But, as we have noticed, a good many of them have cell phones, are not hungry-looking, are wearing pretty good athletic shoes, and often have small children with them, who appear to be in pretty good condition in most cases.  So when they say "We fear for our lives and can't find jobs," I have to ask about how they acquired their shoes, cell phones, reasonable food, money to pay the cartels, etc.  Even though they have lived in impoverished areas, they appear to have managed.  It looks like they just wanted to come to a place they have heard is much nicer than where they used to live, even when they know they are breaking our laws when doing so, and are butting into the line already formed ahead of them.  It's not like that Jewish ship that arrived here during WWII begging for asylum, saying that if they returned to Europe, they would be killed.

I know, I know!  I'm a cruel, cold-hearted, b*tchy, privileged nutcase, who doesn't understand the problem.  But I know that President Eisenhower was sending illegals back home as fast as possible, since they had entered our country illegally.  He had sent back around 200-300 thousand of them, but he was interrupted in his mission, by some other more pressing matters which took precedence at the time.  He meant to finish his duty to his country.  Are our current times different in the mission we should be doing?  I think not.

I heard of a report from the attorney for Hunter Biden, in a closed door meeting of President Putin's and Belarus' leaders that colluded together with the State Department of the US.   In the report it shows there is an agreement to move 55,000,000 illegal aliens into the US on the Texas southern border and ship them off to be indoctrinated into the Russian Ukrainian front to lay down and cover up the ruts in the ice which will form shortly dis allowing the Russian tanks from getting a good foothold on their paths into Kiev.

This is in addition to the already 45,000,000 million existing Illegal Central American and South American immigrants already here.   There is a march up the toll highway in Mexico of some 125,000,000 other Central Americans and on their way they are learning English, and given social security cards, along with Medicare and medicare advantage programs for those over 65.

At the end of this immigration, there will only be 45,000 Mexicans left in Mexico...all the employees of Carlos Slim.   It is all part of his plan to ship all the reisdents of Formosa/Taiwan over to Baja and take over the space on our southern border with a successful capitalist regime, allowing China to re take over their long forgotten island.

I would like to take a poll.

Do you posters NOT get your social security checks on the 4th?   Or do you NOT get them on the 11th?

Just asking.

Lady Lanajuju,

Yes, heartless is the word that comes to mind whenever I think of you. Did you torture your kids too?

Tommy,

Sorry, I don't drink whiskey.

Lowell,

I don't get a SS check but I get an auto deposit about the 24th each month. Does "NOT' get them mean you think you're not getting one in a government shutdown? I would like to see a government shutdown - part of the beginning of cutting back - plus we'll still get our money even with a shutdown, as is appropriate.

Tommy,

We who listen to Fox or KLBJ get updates every day, as well as visual accountings of reporters who report of the southern border continuously, unlike the "legacy press," who enjoys ignoring the border situation on most days.  However, the legacy press has been more diligent lately, actually giving their followers some fairly accurate news updates, even with visuals.

Since you often eschew news reports of the day, I'm not surprised that you feel Jim and I don't know, at least with a fair amount of reasonable certainty, of what we speak.

I find the daily news fascinating, and I keep abreast of it continually.  I don't know why I have such a thirst for it these days, because in my younger years, I didn't.  I think it was just that I was constantly on the run, in those days.

Jim,

I spoiled my kids at all times.  i was a "pushover" to anything their little hearts desired.

Tommy; One question for you.

If someone asked you for your estimates of illegals having entered our country, would you have no idea at all, as an educated quess or an approximate guess?

I think there are quite a few people who voted for Biden who don't know and don't care to know.  (I don't know who you voted for.  I figured you voted against Trump, or maybe not at all.)

Tommy, if we don't know exactly how many Jews were killed in the holocaust, should we not discuss it?

The fact is that an outrageous number of illegal aliens are in thi country, and the Biden administration is derelict in its duty in not defending the border. I think it should be an impeachable offense.

Speaking of Biden, what kind of pressure do you suppose that Michelle Obama is under to run for president when they finally push Biden out?

I'm not sure why you receive your SS payment on the 2nd Wednesday. From the SS Administration:

In general, here’s how we assign payment dates:

  • If you were born on the 1st through the 10th of the month, you’ll be paid on the second Wednesday of the month.
  • If you were born on the 11th through the 20th of the month, you’ll be paid on the third Wednesday of the month.
  • If you were born after the 20th of the month, you’ll be paid on the fourth Wednesday of the month.

There are exceptions. For example, children and spouses who receive benefits based on someone else’s work record will be paid on the same day as the primary beneficiary.

For others, we may issue your payments on the 3rd of each month. Among other reasons, we do this if:

  • You filed for benefits before May 1, 1997.
  • You also receive a Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payment.
  • Your Medicare premiums are paid for by the state where you live.
  • You live in a foreign country.

Individuals who receive SSI payments due to disability, age, or blindness receive those payments on the 1st of each month.

If your payment date falls on a federal holiday or weekend, you can expect to receive that month’s payment on the weekday immediately prior.

However, my birthday is on the 24th of the month and Martha's is on the 25th.  We receive our direct deposits on the Monday before the fourth Wednesday except when that Monday is a federal holiday, in which case it hits on the prior Friday. I guess direct deposit gets priority because they want to encourage it.

I just saw on Ch 8 a report from the NY Post on "proper phone educate"

1) text before calling

2) call

3) if no one answers do not keep calling

4) Do not leave a voice mail

5) Send a text instead of voice mail

They did not mention how to deal with a land line.  I have an answering machine on my land line and it does not recieve text messages.

Sorry, Tommy, these days not only am I a deplorable but also for many decades, a near total alcohol ignoramus - pretty good for somebody who was an alcoholic at age 20. I figured that was a wine, but I never liked wine so I thought I'd misidentify it and you would tell me what it was. I know a lot more about whiskey than wine, but not much.

Tommy,

I know I can ignore the news, like I did when I was a kid.  I saw my parents watching the news and reading the daily newspaper.  It appeared to me to be a "grown-up thing" then, but I was interested much more in playing outside, riding my bike or scooter.  Now that I am a parent and Grandma, I understand why my parents were interested in the news they read or listened to each day.  Funny how that works out!

I could go back to my childhood ways, ignoring the news, but that doesn't seem like a reasonable thing to do, since I have responsibilities now, unlike when I was a kid.  I think we can pretend that everything is rosy and that times are wonderful like childhood days, but to me, that doesn't make sense.  For everything there is a season, it has been written, and there is a time to put away childish things, or notions.  I want to know what is going on each day, because I want to particpate in what develops.  That is what I have noticed adults do.

Reverting to child-like fun time is like putting your head in the sand, in my opinion.  Sure, it relieves oneself of worry and anxiety, but it promotes the shirking of adult duties expected with age and gained knowledge. I can handle the news, anxiety and all, balancing that with happiness, good times, and hope for improvements in every worldly direction.

You stated you go to bed too early.  I think I can understand why.

To each his own.

David,

I agree.

The fact that I pay attention to the news of the day is not because of the influence of my "legacy" religion or because of the words of Eisenhower, but is because I like to know what is happening in our world, which affects our country and the people who live in it.

I can handle it, and I DO have influence in our world each time I vote or write my Congressperson, or say my prayers.   My posts are often sarcastic, but are given, usually, with the injection of humor, even though my humor may not be the taste of some folks.   I feel the general presence/tenor of this forum can understand why I post as I do, and it is known that I ask for other's viewpoints.

I have incredible joy in my life because of the understanding and relationship I have with my Father, who, I believe, wants me involved in the continuation of the founding principles of our blessed country, in my small way each day.

I hope for everyone the same joy from the same source I have found, with the perfectly provided guide of life.

Tommy,

On some days you write to me in the nicest, sweetest way, and then on other days you seem to be angered at me.  Please don't allow my posts to alter your mood in any way.  I wish you happiness always, and steadiness.

A man staggers into an emergency room with two black eyes and a five iron wrapped tightly around his throat.

“I was having a quiet round of golf with my wife,” he tells the doctor, “when she sliced her ball into a pasture of cows. We went to look for it, and I noticed one of the cows had something white in its rear end. I walked over and lifted up the tail, and sure enough, there was my wife’s golf ball stuck right in the cow’s butt. That’s when I made my mistake.”

“What did you do?” asks the doctor.

“Well, as I was standing there holding up the tail, I yelled to my wife, ‘Hey, this looks like yours!'”

Tommy,

I am a deplorable; after all, that's what Hillary said, and she's my 9th cousin, 2x removed so she can't be wrong. You can always believe what she says. Self-doubt? At RHS, yes. Today, not much. Like any objective person, I don't always like what I see on introspection, but at least I don't doubt it!! YEE HAW!!!!

I've always liked Thomas Sowell, even in those few cases when I disagree with him. This is a recent interview. Note: he is 93 years old. Compare his intellectual skills and grasp of the facts to those of our president.

I love the movie Peggy Sue Got Married (which stole the title from a Buddy Holly song). Kathleen Turner plays a 40ish mom who is transported in time back to high school, but she still has all the "pre-memories" of her adulthood. In one scene, she blows off an algebra test and proclaims, "I know for a fact that I will never use algebra."

That ties in to the attached editorial from The Wall Street Journal, which addresses an alternative to the SAT and ACT. I chuckled at seeing the problem at the top of the second column. Good news! I can still solve it. Can you?

These guys are good in my opinion.  Embedded in their short video is their .60 second spot on Spectrum.

I just wish Spectrums' service was as good as their commercial!

A couple of the big guys move so smooooothe!
