Welcome to the Richardson High School Message Forum.

The Message Forum is an ongoing dialogue among classmates. The goal is to encourage friendly interaction, including interaction among classmates who really didn't know each other. Experience on the site has revealed that certain topics tend to cause friction and hard feelings, especially politics and religion.

Although politics and religion are not completely off-limits, classmates are asked to be positive in their posts and not to be too repetitive or allow a dialog to degenerate into an argument.

Forums work when people participate - so don't be bashful! Click the "Post Response" button to add your entry to the forum.

Steve, big difference...you do it for free and, well, he admitted doing for commisions without a license.  And, he was an attorney running for the top position of Texas' justice system.

Steve,

The difference between you and Ken Paxton is that - on our Forum - everybody knew better than to give you a single damn cent of their had-earned money to invest.  Not to mention the fact that we all knew that NO investment firm on earth would deign to hire you.  NOR were you foolish enough to represent yourself as an licensed investment adviser.

Alas, neither of these three things was true for  Paxton.  Thus the indictment.

And further Steve, it is a very dangerous thing - I think - to ask the members of this Forum whether or not you should "go to jail."  The vote would be a very near thing and might not reflect in your favor.

You should be glad that such a thing is not possible.  And now that I think about it, so should I and not a just a few other people in the RHS Class of 1969.

Don't worry, Steve. We Republicans know that you've done nothing wrong, so we wouldn't send you to jail. Of course, the Democrats don't care whether you've anything wrong or not. It's a matter of whether they like you or not. Good news: they like you, so no jail for you.

Wait a minute. I forgot. You voted for Trump. So you are a racist, homophobe, mysogonist, and xenophobe. You don't need to worry about jail. It's a capital offense. Not for being one of those types of people, but merely for being accused, even without evidence.

Elections matter.

David, Bob and Hull,

Two Democrat daughters took me to lunch for my birthday today at Prego's Pasta House.  I would not risk it for you but for time with my daughters I went out to lunch.  Tony Barraco was there and Joey is back working there every day but Monday and Thursday on the night shift.

I haven't updated you guys lately on my progress with my 42 year old "girlfriend."  I think the following song sums it all up.........

Bob,

I hear what you are saying about my dumb investment advice, but I gave everyone on this forum plenty of time to get ahead of the next craze of the reddit bunch buying silver stocks and even giving you the name of the stock AG to invest in.  Read em and weep boys when my ship comes in and no one would take the plunge with me.  My portfolio of silver stocks is up at least 25% in one day and AG is up close to 40%.  I am fixing to have a lot more dry powder for the crash that will happen in February or March.  It didn't take Biden long to take away eveyone's confidence..  You can't give away that many jobs, rejoin the Paris accords which punish us while rewarding the rest of the world, give the Chinese a blank check and authorize Iran to begin building nukes again without there being repercussions.  But, I know how much trouble it must be to call your investment advisor and say buy me some AG stock for my 401k.  Go ahead and stick to the churn and burn your capital guys while making you 3 or 4% a year.

Steve,

You must have left me out of the loop about the 42-year-old. Martha and I just celebrated our 47th anniversary. Just sayin'. Although, if the question were, "Why would a 70-year-old date a 42-year-old," the answer would be, "Because he can." Usually, there's a big bank account involved.

Martha's niece married a man who is 25 years younger. Now that's an oddity.

About silver and shorting, IMHO you are talking about speculation rather than investing. As with most oil men, you have a strong streak of speculation within. So did the hedge fund managers that just took it in the ... well, you know. Win big. Lose big. As I have said before, I am more concerned about the return OF my money than the return ON my money.

Meanwhile, all the wild action in the market is wreaking havoc on my portfolio because the short-sellers are selling other stock to cover their shorts.

The best explanation of why the progressives are so nasty after they took over the country:

"Self-righteous progressives believe they put up with and suffer on behalf of us—and thus their irrational fury and hate for the irredeemables and conservative minorities spring from being utterly unappreciated by clueless serfs who should properly worship their betters."  Victor Davis Hanson.

Hanson is one of my favorite writers, both on contemporary culture and politics and military history.

Bod D and others.

I just got a E-mail about how now Argentina is now having Jury Trials in both criminal and civil. They now join the US and Canada to allow civil jury trials

News from the Civil Jury Project

Civil Jury Trials Become a Reality in Argentina

Our June 2020 newsletter contained the piece, The Dawn of the Civil Jury Trial in Argentina, by Professors Andrés Harfuch and Juan Sebastián Lloret. Their article outlined the efforts by the Institute of Comparative Studies in Criminal and Social Sciences (INECIP) and the Argentine Association of Trial by Jury (AAJJ) to implement jury trials in criminal cases first, and their continued efforts to apply the jury system to certain civil cases.

Professor Harfuch has been kind to keep us informed of the progress and in September let us know that the Governor Jorge Capitanich of Chaco sent to the Legislature a Bill that would establish trial by jury for civil matters.

The Bill proposed a civil jury of twelve members, presided over by a judge who would instruct on the law and would require a general unanimous verdict. A special verdict in certain cases was also allowed. All jury trials would be oral and public trials. Hearings would be provided for both discovery and case management. A jury trial would be available for class actions, consumer rights collective disputes, tort cases of over half a million pesos, collective environmental and land disputes and any dispute involving the freedom of speech, belief or press.

The Bill also provided some built-in demographic provisions. It set a mandatory gender equality requirement of 6 women and 6 men and provided for an indigenous jury: if the plaintiff and the defendant belong to the Wichí, Moqoit or Qom Indigenous Peoples, the twelve jurors would be of that ethnic group.

We are thrilled to report that on December 16, 2020, the Bill was passed. I hesitate to try and capture the compelling story surrounding its passage, so please read about it here. It is spellbinding and a testament to those who secured its passage.

“It really helped that our 5-year experience with criminal juries in many important provinces was a complete success,” says Professor Harfuch. “We now face the challenge of crafting proper instructions, verdict forms and teaching adversarial litigation techniques to lawyers and judges who do not know what a public hearing is.”

We at the Civil Jury Project applaud Professor Harfuch and all those in Argentina who valued citizen involvement in making such crucial decisions as a jury of twelve.

Wayne,

Most Americans take jury trials for granted, but shouldn't.  I used to get various judges I like to come talk to the boys in the troop about their rights and duties as an American citizen for the 1st Class requirement.  One of them used his time to talk about the jury system at length.  It opened my eyes a little -- and I deal with that stuff every day.

They are a really big guarantee of freedom from government oppression.  The idea is that instead of a government official deciding your criminal or civil case, you have a group of ordinary citizens doing it.  Like all of the wonderful provisions in the Constitution limiting the government, it interferes with the effeciency of the government by limiting its power.

Argentina has a history of caudillo authoritarianism, including the socialist regime of Peron that wrecked the economy.  I say good for them with the jury trials.

Bob,

Several years ago I was on a Work injury jury that awarded the worker $26.3million for a broken back.  The Judge told us only the US and Canada had civil juriy trials and after the triial i learned about the Civil Jury Trial project and was on a jurior panel at one of their lunchens for Dallas Bar.  Since then I get their monthly e-mail newsletter.  I was shocked that the UK discontinued civil jury trials and as you are well aware that is where our legal system came from.

David,

Your explanation on investing reminds me of the guy going down the highway picking up cans to take to the aluminum recycler.  His partner says, "Look here.  There's a silver bar on the side of the road.  We can take it to the recycler, too."  First guy, replies, "No, leave it lay.  I don't know anything about silver.  We're in the aluminum recycling business.  And anyway, somebody might rob us if we are carrying silver."

Good analogy, Steve. Now, where's that free silver? Oh, did I mention that I went to St. Mark's with a kid named David Sands? He was the nephew of Nelson and Bunker Hunt. Just sayin'.

David,

I did not say corner the market with Hull.  You corner the market with thousands of other little guys and then nobody takes too big a hit if things go bad.  By the way, I don't recall Nelson and Bunker standing in a line at the food pantry even after they lost their shirts in silver, do you?  This morning I  am out of the stock AG after taking my proofits which were close to 50% on my position.  I am out of SVM with 30% on my position.  If prices fall enough I may buy back in, but right now I am going to gold and platinum.  So the answer to your question is it is sold at the recycler.

In a different Ken Paxton case, details abound if you are interested, but this is the latest...

Tracker found on car of lawyer in Paul case

A Texas lawyer says he found a tracking device on his pickup truck during an escalating court battle with a businessman at the center of an FBI investigation into Attorney General Ken Paxton.

In a court filing Monday, Steve Lemmon said “the surveillance clearly appears to be tied to” his case with Nate Paul and that trackers were also found by other people whom the real estate developer sees as “business adversaries.”

The discovery adds intrigue to the imbroglio around Paxton and Paul, the developer whom the Republican is accused of breaking the law to hel

If the number of executive orders you have signed exceeds your number of days in office, YOU MIGHT BE A DICTATOR!

It was stated today that the White House requests reporters to give their questions in advance before they are allowed to ask the questions of Biden, or Jen Psaki.  Now why would that procedure be put in place at this time, I wonder?  There has never been that rule before.....

Nancy has now erected a wall to keep Americans out of DC and "The Peoples House"

I see the press is eagerly waiting Joe's response to the coup grabbing power in the country we still refer to as Burma.

But they are wasting their time waiting.  Joe is not going to say anything derogatory about China, since he knows well 'on which side' his bread is buttered, and from where his buttered bread has been pilfered.

His intentions are, or should I say Barack's intentions, are to keep an even keel in regards to China.  China now holds all the important cards for the next few years, regarding the USA.

We are at China's mercy, and we are about to be screwed in a way that is gonna make us squeal "OUCH(!) and What the hell is going on here!!!"

Social-media CEO urges Americans to delete Big Tech apps, & build Christian economy.

"I am done giving my money to THE ENEMY and funding the destruction of our country."

Article by Bob Unruh    February 2, 2021

Gab.com is an online community where freedom of speech is paramount, memes, or anything else.

With that objective, it's not surprising it's been banned from app stores and deplatformed by Silicon Valley giants.

"We've been deplatformed by 25+ service providers including both app stores, Paypal, dozens of payment processors, hosting providers, email services, and more." he said.

It just means, he said, that God "is working to separate the wheat from the chaff."

"This deplatforming inevitably reforms Gab into an even more resilient commmunity, business, and platform.  We don't just sit around and whine when these things happen, we immediately get to work," he wrote in an update on his site Monday titled "The Silent Christian Secession."

He said the problem is that many Christians think that to "be in the world, but not of the world" means giving "our money, time and data" to enemies.

"This has got to stop, right now," he wrote.

"I am in the process of transitioning every part of my financial expenses to support Christian businesses,  Christian media companies, Christian content creators, and Christian people." he said. "I am done giving my money to 'The Enemy' and funding the destruction of our country and values.  I encourage everyone else to do the same.  If they are not serving God, they are serving Satan and I'm simply not going to fund that activity."

He asked his readers to "examine the businesses, brands, and media companies you currently support both financially and with your time.  If they are virtue signaling critical theory nonsense or are owned by demons, you should immediately stop paying them and using their services."

This, he said, is "about building our own Christian economy; one without cancel culture, and one that doesn't embrace the demonic and degenerate cult religion of critical theory."

He said that's no more than a "pathetic subversion of well-meaning Christians, churches, and Christian values in general.  It lures decent God-fearing people into practicing a false and demonic pseudo-religion designed to accelerate their spiritual and literal demise.  It preys on the malleable minds of our youth.  It enslaves those who practice it and seeks to destroy those who do not."

"Talk to your kids about these things.  Homeschool them if at all possible.  Cut the cable cord.  Delete the Big Tech apps from their phones and your own.  We have a lot of work to do, but remember that we have the Creator of the Universe on out side.  Through Him all things are possible, as we have been taught by reading our Bibles."

He said a friend called this campaign "the silent secession."

America became a nation on the foundation of Christianity, but "the second that changed is the second the destruction began," he stated.

"Our Christian 'kindness' and 'tolerance' have fueled our own destruction and have been weaponized against us.  TOLERANCE IS NOT A CHRISTIAN VIRTUE.  We are commanded to hate that which is evil (Psalm 97:10, Romans12:9) not to fund it and give our time to it."

His company has three objectives: building tech that empowers speech, prevention and the removing of any illegal activity in his community, and making money for the growth of the platform.
