? Marty. Now I am confused. I was pointing out to Janalu she may have mistaken you as a female. I barely remember you from high school...but was pretty sure you were not female.
Marty Matzen lived down the street from me on Thompson. If you drove 100 miles per hour down Westwood and failed to stop, you would crash into her house...or close.
The reservation was on the other side of Arapaho, West or Waterview. Lots of girls there too.
Marty was a year behind us. I took trig my senior year. She was in the class and I sat between her, Carol Peavy, and Nancy Warrenton. Every test I took came back to me from Ms Mann and it was exactly a 70. Each time I saw those three girls, all juniors, getting back their tests with 99. I was good at algebra but never memorized the laws or rules in plane geometry or Trig needed for proofs....can't believe algebra has helped me, but sign, cosign, and triangle and square fules, as well as plotting points never came into use.
Marty's two brothers were Rick Matzen and Neal Matzen both (RIP.) Neal was the swimming coach when RHS started the school swim team our Junior (I think) year. Marty is now Colley My sister in contact with her via Susan Newsom/Martin. Marty's hussband was one of the guys who start ed the Katy Trail Ice House...a good place to hang out.
Rick Matzen and Kathy Vogt were involved, and I think married.
My mom and Mr and Mrs Matzen were friends. Kathy Vogt's mom and my mom also were pretty close. The Vogt's had a nice vacation home in Wimberly...
Oh well...past to current times...just faded memories.
Why would anyone take Trig voluntarily their senior year? Ya got me.
