Message Forum

Welcome to the Richardson High School Message Forum.

The Message Forum is an ongoing dialogue among classmates. The goal is to encourage friendly interaction, including interaction among classmates who really didn't know each other. Experience on the site has revealed that certain topics tend to cause friction and hard feelings, especially politics and religion.

Although politics and religion are not completely off-limits, classmates are asked to be positive in their posts and not to be too repetitive or allow a dialog to degenerate into an argument.

Forums work when people participate - so don't be bashful! Click the "Post Response" button to add your entry to the forum.

Sandra and Hollis,

I'm not oblivious to the occasional, but always unwarranted invective you receive. Each time I cringe.

I’m with you.  I support you. Perhaps most important I stand in awe of your steely self-confidence. Your grace under fire.  Your innate ability to forgive.  Wisdom to leave grudges for the weak and cowardly.  The two of you:  like the highest quality diamond, no one could ever break you.

Abundant love to both of you.

Wayne,

Looooong overdue,  my response. Pls forgive me.  At the same time feel free to get in with Sandra and Hollis.  I deserve it.

Yes, absolutely. We'd love to get together with you and your wife.  When you can just let me know via text or email and we'll make it happen.  Be safe Wayne.  I think of you often.  :)

A GREAT thank you to all who served our country from our Class of 1969 on this Memorial Day.

Sincerely,

Ron

AMEN, Ron!! We owe it ALL to them & others like them now & from the past!! Just volunteering is the extreme heroic act. "Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends" (John 15:13 ESV).

Just got back from Austin. Visited Eddy Norton for three days, had dinner with Paula Whitfield Jameson and husband Parker; dropped in on Terry Mitchell Reddy and husband Don; dropped in on Susie Shannon Rudd and husband Jerry.

Went to the Texas Military Forces Museum at Camp Mabry. Hidden gem. Free entry. Here is a really quick run-through. Worth a full afternoon if you read!

Did you know that if you paid for funeral arrangements for someone whose death was at least partially attributable to COVID-19, you can be reimbursed by FEMA?

https://www.fema.gov/disasters/coronavirus/economic/funeral-assistance/

One aspect that interested me is that FEMA provides information that can be used to game the system. The following is from the website.

https://www.fema.gov/disasters/coronavirus/economic/funeral-assistance/faq

The death certificate doesn’t attribute the death to COVID-19. How do I get a death certificate amended?

It is possible to change or amend a death certificate. This process starts with contacting the person who certified the death. This may be a treating doctor, a coroner or a medical examiner, and their name and address is on the death certificate. Applicants may present evidence to them to support the claim the death was attributable to COVID-19.

I can see a rationale for this provision, but I can also see how a doctor could feel pressured to make changes that are not really valid. After all, who does it hurt?

David,

It hurts the taxpayer or all of us that pay taxes.

Lowell -- I sent you a private message about property prices in Woodland Heights.

Thanks Bob.   I think we need to get a POA on him as well as a will.   Would hate for a contract be pending if he had a life problem.

Lowell -- do both asap.

David -- I have read and enjoyed Murray's book as well as the rest of his writings.  The Bell Curve is easy to read and full of interesting information.  It is written almost apologetically and pulls punches in its conclusions. The establishment academic/media/political attacks seem to boil down to "I don't like what your data show so you stink."  It reminds me of what these same people do to John Lott's research on firearms.

All of the research tends to show that there are more mentally retarded males as well as geniuses.  Female humans are more likely to be normal, males at the extremes -- so the male bell curve is flatter, the female more centered on the mean, with the average being the same.

Lowell,

Your "squids and shellfish" ancestry is better than some of my ancestry. Apparently I have multiple lines back to the false prophet Mohammed. NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Now I've gone from wishing he had never lived to praising God that he did!!!!!

Bob D,

You said, "Female humans are more likely to be normal" - I knew that even without science!!!! hahahahahahha!!!

All,

I want to personally thank WONDERFUL Donald Trump for saving my life and also the country from the CHINA virus. If Biden & Co. had been running (ruining; BIG DUH!) things during Trump's administration, we'd be locked down for multiple more years until we had gotten the vaccine(s)!!!

Chief Stephen Toenails,

I LOVE my new name for you; I hope you do too. Do you spell it with a "ph" or a "v"? Trust me, this was a LOT better than Chief Stephen Can't Dance With Wolves Due to Toenails.

Steve Keene, New Hampshire (it's safe there since Tommy will be in New Mexico!),

Speaking of names reminds me of an appearance on Johnny Carson once by the late comedian/actor Red Buttons (nee Aaron Chwatt) not long after the Iran hostage crisis started in the late 70's.

Red was railing against the mullah leading Iran. He said something like, "Now in the Middle East we've got the Ayatollah Cacamamie (pronounced "cocka may me")!!! Now you can call me "Aya" and you can call me "Tollah" and you can call me "Mamie" but DON'T YOU call me "caca."!!!!!!! The whole room erupted in laughter.

David C,

And did you see the video yesterday of the middle-aged Oriental woman walking down the street in Manhattan and some homeless idiot for no reason sucker punched her and knocked her unconscious?!?!? He had a rap sheet as long as a list of Dem/media lies and I bet he's already out! Thank you, Karl Marx, the originator of all this class warfare nonsense so wholeheartedly endorsed by the Marxist left & that George Soros is currently taking advantage of, to the detriment of all, even his foolish supporters.

I just saw the video of the (10 year old?) boy's wailing loudly after being abandoned in the dark next to the gap in the uncompleted border wall. I KNOW that 3 people who care about the same about that pathetic sight are the human coyote at the end of the victim's journey, Joe Biden and Kamaleon Harris. Hope the animal coyotes don't get wise to this kind of EVIL behavior...............

The spokesman (talk about an evil phony!) Jen Psaki was asked about it but I can't remember her LAME response.

Here's what I LOVE about FNC. Unlike the corrupt media, where all you hear is the same old emotional, non-factual, empty rhetoric, usually repeated verbatim across all the worthless shows, here's the kind of stuff you hear on FNC (this one from Degan McDowell):

"Tony Fauci has passed his expiration date."

Also one of the funniest I remember from the past was when Pelosi was saying you have to pass Obamacare to see what's it in, on FNC some guest who was a doctor said, "Well, that's what we say about a stool sample."

Here's my original (but not that clever really - pretty ordinary).

Joe Biden is a walking poster child for the 25th Amendment.

Chief Steven Toenails,

Sorry I'm so late getting back to you about your HILARIOUS statement about the fence around the Capitol, here are the best Congress jokes I could find from the always reliable Mark Twain - notice how they're all non-partisan and yet (or therefore?) timeless:

It could probably be shown by facts and figures that there is no distinctly American criminal class except Congress.

Suppose you were an idiot and suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself.

Fleas can be taught nearly anything a congressman can.

All Congresses and Parliaments have a kindly feeling for idiots, and a compassion for them, on account of personal experience and heredity.

No man's life, liberty, or property are safe while the legislature is in session.

Chief Jimi Bob (don't you DARE say as dumb as a.....) Bedpost!!!! hahahahahhaha!!!)

All,

My next door neighbor died and before he died he sold the house and the owner will be renting it out,  The neighbor was into gardening and even bloging.  As a result the front yard has a large number of day lilies and irises.  The owner will just have all of the plants scrapped off and sodded. If anyone wants to dig some up let me know and I will send you the address.  The house is in Garland near Jupiter and Arapaho.

David,

The first code talkers were Chocktaw in WWI.  The Germans were tapping into the phone lines.  The Texas boys started using Chocktaws fro OK to communicate over the lines in Chocktaw.

Now that you are retired you will find you have "2 days each week"  Sunday and 6 Saturdays "to do only what you could do on Saturday,"

Good for me to see baseball (mlb) having a day for Lou Gehrig to raise awareness and money for Lou Gehrig's disease.   LG4day.com

Mom passed from ALS in 1998 after about 18 months.   Basically, your brain is unaffected yet the signaling connectors to muscles, both involuntary and volunary are "shorted" causing various different body muscle parts to cease functioning gradually.

She loved basedball until the end.   i don't know why she liked the Rangers, but when i moved to Houston she also began to favor the Astros too.

It was a tough time for us.   I did'nt believe the diagnosis for a long time because she was about 70 when they told her.  It usually affects folks much younger.

Canadians have a higher tendency to it as do head trauma victims and veterans.

The worst part (in her case, as each case is sligihtly different) was the swallowing and that was preceded by her speech being slurred.

When she refused food, it was only a short time later that she was too week and passed.   I was told if you stop eating for about two weeks, and have no feeding tube, they can't start one.

They had some guests on the Astros game tonight who were suffering it and their outlook was amazing and made me weep.
