Message Forum

Welcome to the Richardson High School Message Forum.

The Message Forum is an ongoing dialogue among classmates. The goal is to encourage friendly interaction, including interaction among classmates who really didn't know each other. Experience on the site has revealed that certain topics tend to cause friction and hard feelings, especially politics and religion.

Although politics and religion are not completely off-limits, classmates are asked to be positive in their posts and not to be too repetitive or allow a dialog to degenerate into an argument.

Forums work when people participate - so don't be bashful! Click the "Post Response" button to add your entry to the forum.

Holly,

Liked your post on what new words mean,

After reading your post on using the "F" word. I thought you might ned to take a large dose of Jewish Penicillan (AKA bowl of chicken soup) always soothing, good for the soul and cures what ails you.

Is it just me, or does it seem that Cowboys defensive backs have neither the ability nor the inclination to tackle anyone? Neon Deion wasn't interested in tackling, either, but at least he was a great cover guy.

Sandra,

Last day of Christmas break.  Earlier today told RJ:  today’s your day.  Whatever you want to do, I’m in.”

Silence.

“Honey?

RJ:  I’m thinking.  How ‘bout Costco?

Me:  you want to spend our last day of Christmas vacation at Costco?

RJ:  Well,  compared to all the interesting places we've been since Covid, Costco sounds pretty exciting.

Me:  Ready in 10.

Thank you for even caring about a photo of the two of us. RJ hates having his pic taken. I don't know why.  In my eyes he's still the same young hottie lawyer I met over 40 years ago.   One way or another I'm going to corral him into a pic.  Thanks for the incentive.  Love you, Sandra.

Lance,

First, hope all is well with you and yours.  On the surface, it looks so simple. I thought so too. It wasn't until realization of Sue's reappearance that pieces began to click.

I don't know quite what's going on. But you know me, in time, I'll figure it out. Happy New Year, Lance.

Be safe. :)

Lance,

Yes, I know.  Sometimes my language leaves a bit to be desired. Okay. A lot.  Chalk it up to decades  working admist aw enforcement, violent suspects, maniacal murderers, autopsies, that sort of thing.  Long gone are the days when I would say:

"Hi there, Theodore. Just minute of your time. "Where were you the night so and so was murdered?  Long ago I learned to speak in the language they understand.

For a long time it's been:  dude. Theo. Don't f#*k with me. I know where you weren't the only one at  Red's place t the night of the murder.  Give me tea and I might be able to help you.

I figure God gives me extra credit for employing the f word when in pursuit of justice.  Figure extra credit really helps for all the times I don't really need to use the f word.  I just feel like. :)

Cowboys Season in a Nut Shell

McCarthy not throwing the challenge flag for the apparent incomplete pass that put the Giants in field goal range in the 4th quarter and allowing the Giants to kick the field goal which proved to be the difference in the game.

Jerry has the perfect excuse to fire McCarthy with this abnormal season. To me McCarthy is the wrong fit for this team. He is too conservative. He only challenged two calls all year. If not McCarthy, then fire the guys in the booth that should be in his ear to call the challenge!!! Heads need to roll.

Happy New Year to you an your loved ones.

I was wondering what you do.  You mentioned  in past about PHD, Christmas break, reporters ethics and now law enforcement. You have mentioned RJ is a lawyer.

That dress Melania is wearing looks like a sexy nightgown about to slip off!

Glad she toned down her wardrobe while in the White House.  She has dressed beautifully and tastefully throughout these last four years, avoiding rude comments.  She has done very well, in my opinion.  Now that she is headed back to her "normal life," I guess she can dress again in styles to entertain her husband's tastes, which may include lasciviousness, I suspect.

Well, the Longhorns and Cowboys underperformed this year -- again. So, here's some football humor.

"The man who complains about the way the ball bounces is likely to be the one who dropped it."
-  Lou Holtz / Arkansas - Notre Dame

"In Alabama, an atheist is someone who doesn't believe in Bear Bryant."
-  Wally Butts / Georgia

"I never graduated from Iowa. But I was only there for two terms - Truman's and Eisenhower's."
–  Alex Karras / Iowa

"I could have been a Rhodes Scholar except for my grades."
- Duffy Daugherty / Michigan State

"I asked Darrell Royal, the coach of the Texas Longhorns, why he didn't recruit me "
He said,   "Well, Walt, we took a look at you, and you weren't any good."
-    Walt Garrison / Oklahoma State

"Football is NOT a contact sport, it is a collision sport.
Dancing IS a contact sport."   -
Duffy Daugherty / Michigan State

"The only qualifications for a lineman are to be big and dumb.
To be a back, you only have to be dumb."
-  Knute Rockne / Notre Dame

"We didn't tackle well today, but we made up for it by not blocking."
-  John McKay / USC

"I've found that prayers work best when you have big players."
-  Knute Rockne / Notre Dame

Ohio State's Urban Meyer on one of his players:
"He doesn't know the meaning of the word fear.
In fact, I just saw his grades and he doesn't know the meaning of a lot of words.”

Why do Auburn fans wear orange?
So they can dress that way for the game on Saturday, go hunting on Sunday, and pick up trash on Monday.

What does the average Alabama player get on his SATs?
Drool.

How many Michigan State freshmen football players does it take to change a light bulb?
None. That's a sophomore course.

How did the Auburn football player die from drinking milk?
The cow fell on him.

Two Texas A&M football players were walking in the woods.
One of them said,   " Look, a dead bird."
The other looked up in the sky and said, "Where?"

What do you say to a Florida State University football player dressed in a three-piece suit?
"Will the defendant please rise."

How can you tell if a Clemson football player has a girlfriend?
There's tobacco juice on both sides of the pickup truck.

What do you get when you put 32 Arkansas cheerleaders in one room?
A full set of teeth.

University of Michigan Coach Jim Harbaugh is only going to dress half of his players for the game this week   .

The other half will have to dress themselves.

How is the Kansas football team like an opossum?
They play dead at home and get killed on the road.

How do you get a former University of Miami football player off your porch?
Pay him for the pizza.

The prayer opening the Congressional session.

Fast forward to 2:40 and listen to the last "word" of the prayer.

Why do you think he did that?  Was he trying to be humorous, or did he have an ulterior motive?

Janalu,

That is socialist "woke" to the extreme.  When this asshole goes to a restaurant, I bet he asks for a womenu.

That is a bad "Owomen" for our country.  I bet his wife womenstruates.  It is clear he has a womental problem.

I hope the SOB falls in a sewer with an open womanhole cover.

Janalu Jeanes (Parchman)

Steve,

You are so clever, quick-witted.... and such a treasured pal.

Don't know how you're still available!  Are the Carl's Corner ladies deaf, dumb and blind?

I heard on one of tonight's broadcasts, that several words were changed for the new Congress' beginning.  There were several words listed, concerning gender useage: the only ones I remember are "mother-in-law" & "father-in-law," hithertofore, but currently to be deemed, "parent-in-law."  Why?  I suppose it has to do with the new concept of gender confusion and/or preferences the "woke" people feel are necessary in today's "woke" society.  Woke people are amazingly weird, methinks.  I'm thinking it has to do with not wanting to accept that God created "man" and "woman," dontcha' bet?  So many of them don't even accept God.

I looked up the word "amen," and it has nothing at all to do with gender.  It is a Hebrew word used as a concluding word, or as a response to a prayer.  The Common English translation of the word "amen" include "verily," "truly," and "so be it."

I like "so be it."

Do you think much of this "change," this "woke stuff" that has come to be in the last few years, was started because of Obama's declaration that his hope was to "fundamentally change" our country?  I heard an extremely well-educated teacher say recently that the reason a man would say such a thing is because he doesn't like or accept the country as it is....The man desires a "do-over."  Isn't that a revealing bit of info?

Janalu,

The way to destroy a country is to destroy its language, it's culture, it's history, it's safety through borders and the military and last but not least to destroy it's moral foundation.  The left set out to destroy the nuclear family.  That is why they support the LGBTQ crowd, the transvestites, the marriage laws, demeaning the sanctity of human life and the genealogical history of the people.   The one thing that keeps these things in place is God's Word.  So anything that belittles God's Word or acts opposite to what the Bible says is something they embrace.  They begin by promoting same sex marriage, drug use, watered down criminal laws, anti Church movements and interacial marriage to muddy the traditions that have helped keep people together in family and ethnic groups.  Divided people are much easier to control and can be pitted against each other and blamed while the power hungry elitists acquire more control and the use of the people's assets without actually having to labor for them. Obama wanted to bring this country down, not so much because he was a socialist, but because he wanted payback for his Muslim father who he revered.  Read his book "Dreams of my Father."  He always thought English and Americans were imperialists who took advantage of the third world countries.  It did not help that he was a homosexual.

Steve, Janalu...here we go again.

Burning Beatles albums, ceasing sex education,  casting out Salinger...

Actually, I guess it is sorta good to have the ultra right...I just can't think of any reasons off the top of my head.

Bob D.,

I dug up this clipping from the September 12, 1972 issue of the Austin American-Statesman. I forgot at least a couple of significant speakers -- Daniel Elsberg and Norman Mailer. I can't find the rest of the article and can't remember who the speakers were at the end of the spring semester. I moved up to president of the program council the next year, so I still got to glom on to some of the dinners.

Sorry for jumping in unannounced, when I was working  I didn't have time for much else.  Thanks to covid I am semi retired and have a little more free time.  The prayer was descent till the very end. Wow!  1984 is here and flourishing, where the meaning of all words come into play and the censoring of some words is determined by a special few.  PC has stymied natural discourse.
