In Memoriam

Mark Boland

From The Dallas Morning News, October 3, 2020.

Mark Lindsey Boland, born May 11, 1951, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 23, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles, Martha and stepfather, Chuck; his wife Tammie; and brother Steve. He is survived by his son, Shawn and his wife, Christi; granddaughters, Carsen, Cameron and Colby; stepdaughter Krystal, her husband Donovan, and grandchildren Phoenix, Kingston and Ashton; sister Bridgette and her husband James; brother Stewart; and niece and nephews, Patrick and his wife, Melissa, Keith, Lauren, Brian, and Casey.

Mark proudly lived in Richardson, Texas where he loved to sit in his porch swing, read the paper and drink coffee. He was a successful business co-owner of Denco Construction building many popular restaurants across north Texas. He spent the last few years crossing off several bucket list items, including many golf outings, a tour of Civil War battlegrounds, and one last fishing trip to Port O'Connor with family and friends. He was saddened that he would not see the Cowboys win another Super Bowl, as none of us will.

Mark had a great love for family and friends and he felt blessed to have an abundance of lifelong friends going back to elementary school, little league baseball and Richardson High School Class of '69. He was adamant that they all be reminded how much they meant to him and how much he appreciated their love and support. He hoped stories of his antics would be shared to keep his legend alive. Special thanks to his business partner, Steve Smith, and childhood friend, Randy George, who were there for him every step of the way through his two-year battle with pancreatic cancer, which he fought to the very end.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity or just sit on the porch and enjoy a beautiful sunset and a cocktail with your loved ones.
