Eagles 1969 50th Preunion & Tribute to Texas Song Writers

What's a Preunion, you ask?

A Reunion is a get together of classmates who have graduated together and is usually held every decade after the year of graduation. For example, the 50th Reunion is the get together of classmates 50 years after graduation.

A Preunion is a get together of classmates who have graduated together and is held the year prior to a Reunion. For example, the 50th Preunion is the get together of classmates 49 years after graduation.

Think of a Preunion as the appetizer and the Reunion as the main course.

And the RHS Class of 1969 50th Preunion will be extra special because it will center around a tribute to Texas song writers. Our classmate Ron Knight is one of those Texas song writers and is friend and compatriot to many of those Texas song writers of our generation such as Steve Fromholz, Jerry Jeff Walker, and Ray Wylie Hubbard.

The RHS Class of 1969 50th Preunion will be held Friday, May 18, 2018 at Fox & Hound at 112 West Campbell Road in Richardson. That's just west of the intersection of Campbell Road and Central Expressway and across the street from the Doubletree Hotel. You'll remember Fox & Hound as the location of the main event for the RHS Class of 1969 40th Reunion in 2009. 

Ron will perform nine songs by Texas song writers in three three-song sets in the Green Room at Fox & Hound during Happy Hour from 5-7pm (entire Happy Hour is actually from 4-7pm). Come before 5pm and stay after 7pm if you like as I am sure many classmates will do.

No charge! Except, of course, for the food and drinks that you purchase. But ... no purchase required!

Starting Friday, April 20, 2018, we'll be posting in the Message Forum about each of the nine songs that Ron will be performing. You'll see that not only are the songs great but Ron and your fellow classmates will talk about their personal connections with the writers of these famous songs from Texas. If you have a connection to share, we hope that you will share it with everyone.
