I joined the USAF right after I graduated from college in June 1973.I entered pilot training as a 2nd Lieutenant at Craig AFB, Selma,Al. I graduated pilot training in July 1974 and was assigned as a T-38 pilot instructor at Reese AFB, Lubbock,Tx. My next assignment was as a T-39 pilot at Bergstrom AFB, Austin, TX.,as a 1st Lieutenant in September 1977. I separated from the USAF in August 1979 as a Captain and became an airline pilot.
